otter has a major manipulative streak and will often take advantage of cats to get his way. for example, if another has a crush on him, he will occasionally flirt and compliment his way to success. he's a good act as well, able to put on any face to guilt cats into doing what he wants. 

he does, however, seem to have a sense of humor, though it is very sarcastic and can be quite dark. otter is amused, most notably, by the stupidity of others in comparison to himself.

perhaps otter's most noticeable trait is his proneness to boredom. he is constantly agitated by the lack of activity, describing peace and quiet as "hateful"; and will go to extreme lengths to keep himself occupied. 

one quality that otter lacks entirely is tact, which is one of the main reasons that he is disliked so heavily by so many cats. he often doesn't notice when his accurate deductions about other cat's personal lives offend them. 

although he puts forth a cold hearted and abrasive exterior, otter does have a kind, caring side. despite telling others that not caring about cats makes it all easier, otter clearly has concern for the cats whom seem to be troubled, the cats in his 'cases', he calls it.  

when his best friend redkit went away, otter substantially changed in personality from the emotional child he was to the cold, deductive and logical cat that he is introduced as today.
