The chubby kitten heavily padded his way to the middle of the camp clearing, planting his bottom to the floor to observe the various cats traveling around; the walking role models. His wide blue eyes were blinking in wonder, as the young cat himself wondered when he'd become an important part of the clan with many roles to fulfill.  He didn't fret over it too much, however, as he enjoyed being a young kit who didn't have such big expectancies placed on him, and he could run around all day with Redkit playing enemy leaders. It was all such fun, really; and if he didn't need to give it up anytime soon, he wouldn't worry about it.  (( Shadowpaw c: ))

Shadowpaw was racing around camp, tripping over her own paws, entertaining herself. The new apprentice had the day off, and so she spent her time either exploring, playing, or hiding, and what better place to hide than in plain sight? Such must've been one kit's idea too, as he was sitting in the middle of the camp, his back to her, watching everyone go about their days. The quiet apprentice padded quietly up to him from behind. She sniffed a little and sat to observe him, hoping to make a new friend.

His fur tingled when he felt the presence of another behind him, breath warm on his neck. The sniffing indicated the cat could have some sort of cold, though he doubted it when he could hear their shallower breath, the runny nose only a result from recent excersise.  "Hi." Mewed the tomkit awkwardly, turning his sleek body in a swift and fashion movement, eyeing the she-cat with a friendly twinkle. "Otterkit, and you must be...?"

Shadowpaw tilted her head slightly. Shadowpaw, she meowed. The dark apprentice studied the kit carefully, she hadn't remembered seeing him in the nursery when she was there, maybe because the few days she was there were spent getting used to the place, or with Firekit. She loved to make new friends, though, and so she sat with this kit to talk.

"Pleasure." He replied, in a tone of sophistication. The tom turned away from her and looked elsewhere, half expecting the apprentice to leave. His gaze shifted to her and then away again, only to drift back and lock eyes. "Yes?" The question was honest, the kitten confused as to why she stayed. He was never really good at making friends, only with Redkit.  ( I can't wait for my honey to become an apprentice eeep! )

Shadowpaw looked down at her paws nervously for a moment, obviously still not good at communication. Want to be friends? She asked, halfway fearful of the answer being the quite opposite. The apprentice could have sworn for a moment she felt he was occupied by another presence, but shrugged it off as no material being was present.


(That's going to be fun once he is, are you thinking of bringing Redkit to Redpaw as well?)

"Uhm.." He trailed off, blinking in surprise. His rudeness wasn't known by him until he understood that she was nervous, the kit quickly answering. "Uh-uh yes! Sure." He grinned, stretching his hind legs out before coming to a full stand. "Should we play a game?" ( actually, no. i'm planning on otter erasing Redkit from his mind in trauma after someone bullies him about having an imaginary friend. So, when he becomes an apprentice, he'll be lonely and all Sherlovk Holmes-y lol ) ( also sorry idk why my posts are so.... weird haha )

Shadowpaw blinked happily. She liked making friends, it gave her more reason to not try to escape. Sure! The apprentice looked around and then back to the kit. What do you have in mind?

"I like trying to figure out secrets about other cats. Or things like... their personalities, what they like to do, and so on." His soft blue eyes skipped over few cats, before landing on a deep blue warrior male chatting with a pretty feline. "See, this guy is very confident" he paused, pointing Shadowpaw in his direction. "His fur is very clean, not a dirty spot or a piece out of place. He's trying to look nice, trying to impress someone, that girl." His head nodded to her, a striped brown tabby. "Her tail is curved slightly at the top. She's in a good mood, teasing even. Now note that she's facing us and we can see her face, which is very important in telling someone's mood, and we can only see the warrior's back. Though her expression is bright and happy, her eyelids are drooping, meaning she's tired - they spent the night before together.  "They definitely like each other, it's especially obvious with the giggles and the sneaking touches from the guy to the she-cat. It's very obvious, it gets annoying at times." He looked back at Shadowpaw, a smirk on his face.

Very observant, she nodded upon looking in their direction. Why watch them past the point of annoyance though? The apprentice didn't like to make eye contact with other cats, she would notice too much too soon and get overwhelmed by it. Anytime she looked up, cats did small things like that to annoy her. She liked to save her eyes for friends, and her voice, as those close to her deserved more attention than did, the strangers across camp; until, at least, they became friends. Besides, why should she learn from others' lives that they learned from others? I'd rather make something my own and special, not copy off of everyone else's. Skill in combat is one thing, you need to know their moves to calculate your defense. But in calm communication, I'd rather friends like me for me and not my ability to "fit in". She watched the ground, giving the two across camp their privacy in such a seemingly special moment, and turned back to Otterkit. Her mind had wandered away, she wondered if perhaps she'd missed another thing he'd said, but he appeared silent for the moment her mind went off. She shook her head of the topic, and it blanked.

A thought occurred: How do you find out a cat's secret without them telling you it is a secret? A "secret" that could be observed, could quite possibly not even be a secret at all, but then again it depends on the cat in question.


(XD got me thinking philosophically here sorry)

"Why not?" He countered, shrugging his shoulders lightly. Shadowpaw then went on to question him again, his eyes blinking lazily as he put together an answer. "Everyone has secrets, even some they aren't aware of themselves. I'm just very capable of knowing them."

"It doesn't matter what I like." He replied, honest though unsure. "And you?" He questioned, realising he had been answering and not asking. He figured she'd rather be with someone, however he'd let the apprentice reveal that herself.
