Aloepaw/Andri ((Aloepaw is a grand ol' butt hole. Blargh I kind of want to know if his character development is going to make him worse or better. I think it'd be interesting to see him struggle with becoming better but also would create delicious angst if he got WORSE lol))Well, you couldn't say Amberflash tried. She really did try to help Aloepaw. However, thus far... It didn't seem like she'd succeeded in much else than making the kid hate her. Well, he was less a kid now because he was about the age to be a warrior. However, she'd admittedly held off his assessment for a bit, citing that he still sucked too much to be a warrior. In full honesty, he kind of did. Not in hunting or battle, however mostly in... Well... The spirit of being a warrior. He wouldn't know teamwork if it bit him in the rear. Well, aside from Almondfire that is. Basically the only cat he tolerated. The rest? Apparently barely worth his time. She wasn't even sure where this came from. In comparison to Almondfire, Aloepaw was kind of... Cold. She really didn't know where it came from. At least his sister had sort of been like an even meaner younger Amberflash. Regardless... She couldn't keep him from a shot at earning his final name any longer. She could only hope the responsibility of having to be an adult and take responsibility for his actions in full would force him to mature. If the death of Brightwing didn't force him to grow up, she wasn't sure what would. With all these thoughts swirling in her mind, she poked her head into the apprentice's den. " Oi. Brat grandson of mine who also happens to be my apprentice. Come out."

{bwwaaaargh I haven't roleplayed him in for freaking ever, so I feel like he's gonna feel like a different character or something. Idk, I tried reading his old posts, but I don't like his personality in them anyway. Baaah, let's see what happens to him.... >_<
I kind of want to make him worse, and totally send his mean butt to the Dark Forest for fun, huehuehue!! xD but who knows (⊙﹏⊙✿)
*pauses BTS to make a good post*
Aloepaw had been rather quiet these days. Training with Amberflash was always hell, since his mentor seemed to be trying to change him anyway she could think, no matter the consequences. His grandmother wasn't at all happy with the type of cat he was, but what did she expect? Some doe-eyed, spineless freak like his mother? Or maybe a cat like his father, who didn't care about strength at all? Omegas like that didn't belong in his family.
Aloepaw twisted his lips into a snarl. He missed his gang. Okay, he didn't have much of a group in the first place, but he had been trying. Weaving and planting seeds of loyalty into his fellow apprentices, or cats of the same personality, in the earlier moons of his training. But when he quieted down, those cats had disappeared. And now, who did he have left?
Almondfire, of course. He always had her. The only family he truly cared about-- the one cat who honestly understood him. Aloepaw would do anything for his sister, no matter the outcome of his actions. No one else mattered but her, because she was the only cat he could truly trust. And trust was a very difficult thing to find and hold onto. Something he understood very well.
Briefly, Aloepaw's thoughts strayed to his other sisters. Willow-whine(was she made a warrior? Yeah, I think so, but I am drawing a huge blank, so we'll just go with the nickname) and Brightwing. Where were they again? Aloepaw couldn't recall what had ever happened to the former, since after the whole shredding incident, he made sure to stuff whatever thoughts about her away. She was really a cat he hated. Ooooo, Aloepaw couldn't wait to return the favor...
...and Brightwing. She was a weirdo. The one that had changed the most in the family, but Aloepaw had barely kept any tabs on her. Still, she had told him herself that she had changed. Becoming a stale, boring figure he couldn't poke and prod at anymore. But he had still sucked up his pride, and asked Brightwing for some sparring, in what felt like years ago... and now she was....
Tch. Brightwing was dead. Why sugarcoat it? He didn't care. Aloepaw never liked anyone besides Almondfire in his family. Once he had learned of her passing, he had even rejoiced! Laughed at the stars, and wondered if she was staring down at him! Or, no, heh... Aloepaw was just laughing at the stars to mock her. Oh, nevermind, he forgets his lack of belief in CloudClan in the first place. So he was just... he laughed at her death, just in general. Not at any stars or spiritual things, heh!
...Aloepaw didn't believe in CloudClan. Maybe a small part of him did, the small part that promised that Brightwing was probably a lot happier in CloudClan than she ever was down here with her horrible family. But that part of him, didn't matter at all.
He didn't care.
Back to reality, Aloepaw's ears perked as he heard a call from the entrance of the apprentice's den. And of course it had to be his grandmother. Aarrgh, he hated her!! Why was she made his mentor?! Why couldn't it have been someone else, someone weaker or someone who could teach him how to be crueler... it took her weeks to finally get around to battle training him, and by that time, he already had more than a dozen nasty scars to show her neglect! None of which, should he add, were treated. Since it seemed FireClan medicine cats decided to disappear when it involved him in their den.
But that was a long time ago. And by this point, Aloepaw's scars were nicely healed. And they made his character pop out more in the intimidation method. His paw, which had suffered the worse of it, was definitely a mess he liked to show off when he needed some scaring done. Honestly, he should have asked Almondfire to give him some nice decorations earlier.
"What do you want, old hag?" In dealing with Amberflash for so long, he was far past the point of actually going after her with his insults. He was something he was forced to deal with everyday, and constant hissing and snarling never won him any points. It was annoying, but Aloepaw had accepted a long time ago that as long as Amberflash carried the title of his mentor, and as long as he still wasn't equal with her in terms of battle stength... she would never faulter to his words and swats.
Still, he could never lose the bite in his voice when dealing with her. Even if Aloepaw had definitely become a lot more dull with his insults.
{meeeeh, I tried to have him be like "heh, I laughed at Bright dying, since she's now happy and healthy in CloudClan!....wait, I mean...." cause it just happened that way. Aaargh, I keep thinking how he's not mean enough, cause I CANNOT WRITE CRUEL CHARACTERS FOR THE LIFE OF ME, THEY ALWAYS HAVE AN OUNCE OF GOODNESS IN THEIR HEARTS, but I can't change him, Aloe is forever with a little good heart to some things o(╥﹏╥)o

((Well I mean... Without literally rewiring his brain, it's not really realistic anyways to say someone's 100% evil anyways. So you're doing good! Even villains tend to think they're doing the right thing. And it's okay lol that happens. Sometimes I feel like my characters might not be consistent lawl.
ALSO GOSH I NEED TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT ALOE'S INNER THOUGHTS: Didn't belong in his family??? As far as he knows, he and Almond are the first "non-omegas". Also yeah Willow is a warrior though she went inactive. She got the name Willowspirit.))
Amberflash was ever so slightly amused by Aloepaw's apparent refusal to ever call her by name. It was always some insult like 'old hag.' She rolled her eyes. "Mmhm... Anyways, it's time for your assessment. To see if you can pull it together and show you're competent as a warrior... In the basest requirements. You still don't understand teamwork much, and that's going to hinder you in your warrior career." She'd told him again and again.
If he didn't learn to work with others without belittling them... No one would really trust him. No one would be there to bail him out if he was in trouble. Of course, Amberflash's advice fell upon stubbornly deaf ears. At least she tried.
"But teamwork skills, unfortunately, aren't a requirement for your warrior name. Just a really strong suggestion." Her tail passively waved behind her. "So, if you want to be actually recognized as an adult finally, after being moons behind your siblings, then come on and don't dawdle." She turned around and walked away, moving to wait by the exit for whenever Aloepaw came over and proved he was ready to go.

(hmmmmm, that's a good point, why didn't I realize that... oh wow, I feel dumb now xD
And yeeep, I kind of want him to have a strong alpha-omega mindset, and like... I guess yeah, the only "non-omegas" would be him and his sister. And like, maybe some cats he's befriended in the past were viewed as above his family, if that makes sense??? And ooooooh, important information, zzhank you. And hopefully she becomes active again when Aleo is a little... stronger-ish xD)
Her words made Aloepaw's ears perk, just the slightest, with interest. Although, it wasn't an uncommon action when it came to training. The large tomcat enjoyed battle training and hunting, to the extent that Amberflash didn't throw a curved rock into the fray when he was off-guard. But this was different. This would be his final training session with her-- finally --and if he succeeded, he would have his warrior name by nightfall-- finally.
Aloepaw was behind on everything, thanks to Amberflash. He had been denied his assessment for so long, Aloepaw had assumed he would never be made a warrior. And he looked nothing like an apprentice anymore-- he had grown into a tall, muscular tomcat that towered over his lean Clanmates. His name was the only thing holding him down, the only thing that prevented him from showing his dominance.
And finally, Amberflash was going to give it to him. Finally. Ah, he couldn't wait.
Of course, though, his grandmother had to belittle him again, as always. Spouting again how he lacked teamwork skills. Aloepaw gave a soft scoff, this again, he thought. "I work fine with decent cats." he commented, but like always, Amberflash didn't care. That wasn't what she was scolding him for. So with a sigh, but still unable to hide the smirk of excitement in his gaze, Aloepaw followed his mentor out of the den. She was right on her toes, totally ready to begin.

((I hope Willlowspirit comes back as well. I'm contemplating having Adaline/Brightwing have a character arc outside the clan and perhaps one day return to Fireclan. I think she needs to heal away from the clan.))
For the first time, something Amberflash said sparked Aloepaw's interest. He had been rather disrespectful when she finally began to train him how to fight. She supposed it made sense. If the assessment went well, he'd be free of Amberflash and her various opinions. Not that he'd be able to completely avoid her forever, what with them being in the same clan, but it'd become significantly easier.
She rolled her eyes. "Your version of decent is rather narrow-minded..." She'd muttered as her grandson and apprentice followed after her. She looked over her shoulder and tilted her head. "What, not gonna get breakfast?" She asked.

{me too, and I think that's a good idea! Poor child SHOULD heal, and she won't get any help in FireClan! :c
He ignored her insult, acting as if she hadn't said anything at all. Aloepaw didn't want to say anything that would convince his mentor otherwise in having an assessment. So instead, he opted to keeping quiet. Although at her question, Aloepaw's tail flicked nonchalantly. "I want to get this done. I can eat during the assessment, if it's that big a deal.
Aloepaw's eyes gleamed at a chance to break the warrior code, even if at the same time, it perhaps wasn't. The choice was to eat now or later, so either way, some dead piece of prey was going to end up at his paws to be eaten-- so was it really breaking the warrior code, then? Although, Aloepaw was sure Amberflash would wiggle her way through that, and point out that it was still not bringing something to feed the Clan-- or some weird excuse like that.
Anyway, back to the task at paw, Aloepaw wasn't about to waste anymore time. He wanted his warrior name now, not wait even longer for what he deserved. His muscles tingled with adrenaline, ready to be given orders, which he planned to follow surprisingly, and get this done with.

((Hopefully when she comes back to Fireclan she'll be able to deal with her family being crap in a better way, and keep friends that will be good for her.))
Amberflash was suspicious about Aloepaw's apparent quiet. Hm. Then she rolled her eyes. "When you're a warrior, you won't be eating on the job. Eat now, or eat after your entire assessment is done. Your choice."
She could see the gleam in her grandson's eyes. Ha. She wasn't a pushover, so she wasn't going to allow her apprentice to push the boundaries of the warrior code. Wasn't good practice, considering the kid was already troublesome as is. He seemed itching to move, but she could only see furious impatience. Hmph. He wasn't going to make for a very good warrior.

yes! ★~(◡﹏◕✿)
Aloepaw expected being denied, and so it didn't ruffle him at all. Still, he stopped himself from insisting again for the assessment to begin. Hmph, he didn't feel that hungry, but that didn't promise he wouldn't be in an hour or so. And he couldn't risk failing, when he had already waited so long....
Bah. Amberflash would be happy, so maybe that would help his chances in succeeding. Although Aloepaw didn't put it past his grandmother to have set this entire thing up just to fail him, and further damage his pride and reputation. He would just have to hope that wasn't the case.
"Fine, fine. Whatever." he growled, stalking over to the fresh-kill pile, and snatching up a mouse. He wanted something small enough to tide him over, and take less time, but for such a big cat, he had to take a medium-sized creature. Then Amberflash can wait. Tch.
When he had finished, and buried the bones as he knew Amberflash would scold him for leaving behind a mess, Aloepaw returned to FireClan's tunnel entrance, and to his mentor. He gave a long sigh, "Can we leave now, hag?"

Amberflash waited patiently by the entrance for Aloepaw to finish the mouse he'd picked out. Urgh... She really hoped that the whole of their grandchildren from Hazelclaw didn't have something against food. She'd seen Willowspirit and Brightwing before they'd both... Gone.... They'd always seemed a bit skinny even for the slender, swift cats of Fireclan.
She rolled her eyes. "Yes. We can leave now." She got to her paws and began to set a leisurely pace outside of camp, leading to deep in Fireclan's territory. She kept her pace consistently, and figured it could teach Aloepaw some patience. He would probably get mad for her moving so slowly.

As they started to move, Aloepaw felt a smirk travel its way onto his features, adrenaline kicking in at the thought that this was the day. But when he finally took note of Amberflash's slow walk, the smile fell apart, into a familiar glower at the older she-cat. His jaws parted, revealing his large fangs for only a moment, before his mouth shut again. Perhaps it wouldn't be good to annoy his grandmother any further. Aloepaw was still convinced his mentor would turn and drop the whole assessment if she was frustrated enough.
So he simply walked, glaring at the prairie land that was FireClan territory, and subconsciously letting out a loud sigh of boredom.

Perhaps it was petty, but Amberflash felt a glimmer of satisfaction at her grandson's annoyance. Then again... He seemed to have a limited range of emotions: Sadistic pleasure and irritation. She wondered if bad personalities could be considered a birth defect.
Finally, she stopped after roughly 15 minutes of walking. She turned around, tail raised high. "Alright. There will be two sections to this assessment. First, you will catch three pieces of prey and return here." Then she waved him off with a paw. "Now, go on. Shoo. Go and prove you can be a helpful member of society."

Aloepaw scowled at her insult, before he lifted his chin up proudly and whipped around. Pfft, he'd fine prey. He was a better hunter than a fighter, thanks to more time spent on the former rather than the latter. Although, he was definitely trying to flip those two around. So who knows how this would go....
Aloepaw plunged into the tall grass, going slow, but at a decent pace. His jaws parted to taste the air, searching for something to grasp at. A mouse or a vole or a rabbit. Maybe even a bird. A rabbit would be the least appreciated, as Aloepaw was not much of a runner due to his size and muscle. He bet the majority of FireClan could outpace him, but he liked to think he could easily rip someone's throat out in return.
Oh...! His golden eyes gleamed as he caught scent of something. And happily, he realized it was a mouse. Easy. Getting closer to where the scent was, and soon crouching down, Aloepaw was eventually able to be within sight of it.
It was a small one, something scrawny that Aloepaw would not be proud in showing off to anyone. If he were alone, and not in an assessment, he might even consider ignoring the mouse. Cats like him couldn't bring back such horrible prey-- it would ruin his reputation! Still, this was different.
Aloepaw got closer, carefully getting as near as he possibly could. And when the mouse looked up, he leaped. It was a stupid mouse, ducking off to the side, but right under where Aloepaw's big paw landed. Still, he certainly wasn't expecting that, and his paw slid forward and off of the warm, squeaking body. Dazed, and probably winded, the mouse still tried to scurry away.
Angered that he had slipped up and looked so foolish in front of his mentor, wherever Amberflash may be, Aloepaw let out a roar of pure anger and whipped around. His paw snapped down, squishing the pathetic thing into the earth, and still he pushed. So tempted to squeeze the life out of it, simply with strength. Satisfied with watching it mewl for a solid few seconds, Aloepaw was so very tempted to play with this little thing. Bat it around a bit, throw it in the air, start spinning it by its tail. Still, he had an assessment to get done. So with a smug shrug, Aloepaw leaned down, agonizingly slow, and killed it with a hard bite to the neck, golden orbs glistening at the crack of the broken bones.
After burying his prey, Aloepaw sent the tall grasses a smirk, knowing that Amberflash had likely watched the whole thing. Still, the mouse was dead. So what if he had taken his sweet time?
Moving on, Aloepaw scented the area. But there wasn't anything else around. Thinking back, his shout of anger frm before had probably scared away anything nearby. So he sniffed, and padded farther away.
In a clearing, with shorter grass and small hills dotted with rabbit holes, Aloepaw sneaked up to the very edge of the long grass. He smelled rabbit, but this place wasn't a good place to try. With all the holes, he could sprain his paw or stumble in his run. And his prey could easily duck into cover.
He waited only a few more minutes. And when he was finally growing impatient, a little brown nose wiggled out of a hole. A rabbit peeked out, then hopped out into the open. It looked, felt safe, and then hobbled a little farther. Closer to the end of the clearing, directly in front of Aloepaw, but across from him. Shortly after, a second rabbit appeared as well.
Bunching up his muscles, Aloepaw gave chase. He pounded after the rabbits with a howl of anger, speedily keeping up wit one, as the other darted away. With a burst of speed, he tried to catch up with the prey.
No such luck. But, he did get lucky with someone else instead. Startled by a noise, a thrush fluttered out of the tall grass, and zoomed into his path. Closer than the rabbit would ever be to his bulky paws, Aloepaw leaped on instinct. His jaws closed for a wing, and he tumbled, easily pinning the feathery creature down with a snarl. He made quick work of killing it, annoyed by the loud squawking it was making. And with that, he was satisfied, bur not by the fading paws of the rabbit having gotten away.
Still, he buried the thrush, and went on his way. His next catch would be another rabbit, but this time, it got away from him and he was given no lucky, stupid prey to make up for it.
Aloepaw tried again, huddling up into a heather bush for cover. He heard the distant sounds of a FireClan patrol, but they wouldn't bother him. Still, Aloepaw caught the smell of a vole, and stalked his way to where it was. This vole was medium-sized, and was only caught after a tiring chase, in which Aloepaw could just not get ahold of it. No matter what he did, the darn thing read his mind and ducked the other way, just in time. Eventually, Aloepaw resorted to just throwing his entire body onto the thing when it whipped around to dodge, and successfully trapping it under his heavy body. A quick kill, and bury, and he was done.
"Now what?" he called into the long, blowing long grass. After a moment, he wondered if Amberflash had maybe lost him some time during the assessment.

((OKAY RIN IM REALLY SORRY BUT um.... Aloepaw isn't a good hunter. He's screaming while he's hunting and not even using the proper forms to catch anything, and he can't even catch a rabbit in FIRECLAN. So, Amber failed Aloe. Sorry? We can try again?? Idk maybe this'll be good character development IM SORRY AMBERFLASH JUST WOULDN'T ACCEPT A PASS :UUUUUU))
Of course, to properly assess Aloepaw's hunting... Amberflash had to observe it. So, she stalked her grandson turned apprentice from afar. She was unnoticed... Somehow, despite her white fur sticking out against the dead grass. Or maybe she was noticed, and Aloepaw ignored it, knowing it would be part of the assessment. Her grandson was a bit on the bigger side for a Fireclan cat, being slower than almost everyone in the clan. So, rabbits were not his forte, in comparison to say... Amberflash herself. She loved rabbit. Mostly to eat, but it was nice exercise catching one as well. Aloepaw seemed so intent on fighting... But really... How can you injure someone without being able to touch them....? She watched as her grandson caught a scrawny mouse. She quietly snorted to herself. He probably didn't think that was the highlight of his hunting career. Hee hee hee.... She watched as Aloepaw screwed up, and proceeded to squash the mouse after letting his temper get the better of him. Alright, Amberflash recalled when she was a young apprentice, with a sharp tongue and short temper. Well, she was still a bit temperamental and sharp tongued, but she knew where to aim it and where to not. Aloepaw felt like some kind of creature born from the negative qualities of herself and her son, Hazelclaw, with none of their redeeming qualities. She wasn't sure how it happened, honestly. Anyways, this display would knock off a few points off his final assessment score. If he did well with the other two prey... She might yet still pass him. Amberflash rolled her eyes when Aloepaw smirked in the wrong direction, the amber-eyed she-cat being elsewhere. Besides, he shouldn't be smiling about such a sloppy kill. Really, it was a bit of disgrace. She followed her apprentice to a small, hilly area riddled with rabbit holes. She watched her grandson lie in wait, as he awaited a rabbit to emerge and leave itself open. Apparently the brown tabby enjoyed screaming as he hunted. Bad form. More points knocked off. She was beginning to think Aloepaw would fail the hunting portion. She was certainly leaning towards it. He rushed after a rabbit, and it outran him. He caught a thrush instead. She winced. Under normal circumstances... This would be fine. The problem, was that the thrush had only been convenient. She's trying to assess his ability as a hunter, as in to locate his prey and catch the prey. Not just anything that was convenient. If he couldn't catch rabbits at all... That was still a problem. The less said about what Amberflash saw of what he did to the vole, the better. When they returned to the clearing, Amberflash had a choice to make. She could tell her grandson he failed right now, or... She could entertain him and do the battle portion anyway. .... She was never the dishonest sort of cat. " I like honesty, so I'm going to be straight up with you. You failed the hunting section, and that means you already failed the whole thing."

{ awww it's fine though xD tbh reading all that, now I can see that isn't good hunting. Pffttt well, Aloe's gonna freak, uh oh... don't do it child...!}
Aloepaw didn't understand her at first, his golden eyes growing wide very slowly as he turned to stare at her. Wait... she didn't.... When what she said finally clicked, a flash of pure hatred formed into his expression so suddenly, and his pelt bushed him to twice its volume. He took a step closer to his grandmother, eyes very cold and lips drawn back to reveal a snarl.
"You--" a string of curse words followed him, before Aloepaw took another step forward. "You were going to fail me the whole time! This whole thing was a set-up! You were never going to give me my warrior name, and you never will! Why did I ever trust you?! AaaaAAARGH, I caught three things, so I passed! You knew the entire time I wasn't going to make it, and you let me make a fool of myself out there!"
A chilly wind brushed his pelt, but Aloepaw didn't shiver. Instead he drew closer, towering over Amberflash with his height, absolutely furious with her.
"I'm done dealing with your games, grandmother." There was such venom in his tone as he spit in her face. "You will never make me a warrior, of course not. This whole assessment--" He turned his head, drawing his tail over the prairie. "Was another game to toy with me. Of course it was. Of course it was."
Aloepaw moved away from Amberflash, having his back to his grandmother, but his tail lashed ferociously behind him. His thoughts were wild, a hundred different things wanting to be a said and a hundred different options being considered.
Then, a low growl rumbled in Aloepaw's throat.
"I caught three things." he grumbled darkly. "I may suck at hunting rabbits, but so? Not everyone is great at hunting, and not everyone is great at rabbit-hunting. I still caught three things. That's what you asked me to do, isn't it?"
{tbh I like this development better, and it opens some doors for him that he hadn't considered before.... hmmm............ 😈}

Amberflash waited for Aloepaw to explode. She was not disappointed in his snarling voice, burning hatred, and hair standing on end. To her credit, she didn't flinch, simply looking at her apprentice, as if waiting for him to calm back down. Though, it was unlikely. The black and brown tom had always felt as if he existed in a position of entitlement, always believing in his own arrogant delusions.
Unfortunately for him, Amberflash was a blunt cat who never hid the truth from anyone.
She didn't roll her eyes for once. "I was hoping that you'd be able to reign in your temper long enough to pass your assessment. This was never a set up. The simple fact is that you failed Aloepaw, through no fault of my own. I suppose it's a little much to ask that you'll learn from this failure." Suddenly her amber gaze hardened. "It is not the number of prey you catch, but how you caught them that caused you to fail." She began to explain.
She remained unintimidated by Aloepaw's height, the wind flowing through her pelt, without her flinching once. She seemed to barely react to his anger.
She dodged his spit, though. "I want you to be a warrior. I think the responsibility would help you. However, first you need to be able to contribute on your own without me constantly hovering over your shoulder because it's my duty." She narrowed her eyes. "My lessons were never games. I've been trying to teach you this entire time, and you throw it back in my face. You've thrown everything in others faces. You take everything for granted because you believe you deserve all the good things that have happened to you, and everything bad that's happened to you is some manipulation that's rigged. But you're wrong. You're flawed. You are not better than anyone else in this clan. You need to learn that." She forced herself to take a deep breath.
Her tail passively lashed behind her. "That's true. But it wasn't only the rabbit catch that caused you to fail. Yes, I asked you catch three things... But you allowed her temper to gain the best of you. You allowed it to rule your judgement, and you screamed out while you were hunting, likely scaring away other prey. It speaks poorly of your own emotional state as well. You broke form several times, unable to catch anything swiftly, or without pinning your target down with your own body. When you allow your prey to squirm and cry out, it speaks of a sloppy kill and allows your prey to warn whatever other prey is in the area."
She sighed. "Leaf-bare is coming. This... Whatever you call that back there, because that was not true hunting technique, continuing to use it will only make your life and efforts harder once the snow hits."
