Patch watched as the cats by her argued. She lowered her ears, a small fire of anger lighting up inside her. She swatted her tail in the air and stepped closer towards the cats, her green eyes narrowed. "May I actually speak?" She muttered, a new edge in her voice. She turned her head towards Aelin and Rot with a blank stare.
"I appreciate your concern and all, but can I just make a point. Pain ultimately left us to die out here or become random rogues running around. Aelin, I'll take that one moon trial and see what the hell I can do. Me and Nat thought that training groups would help, if you would like to join one." Patch quietly explained, staring at Rot. "You can join as well, if you would like. Anyone can improve if they really try."
"I know I don't make the best of arguments, or that I'm the leader you wanted. I'm just gonna make sure I'm the leader you deserve." Patch tilted her head, and nodded gratefully to Natalia. "I thank you for backing me up, Nat."

Natalia backed up, so attention was on Patch, when the black and white she-cat actually spoke up. She approved of Patch's calm demeanor as she dealt with Rot and Aelin, who to her... Seemed a bit like mouthy brats. Jeez, was this how she seemed when was that young...?
She was fine with kids, but sometimes they could be really annoying. She stepped forward again, to nod in response to Patch, and then to elaborate a little. "A lot of cats come through here. I've seen some kids come in who can barely take care of themselves, and are on the edge of dying from starvation. Further, I imagine that not many have much experience in a real fight. The idea is to fix that, and if you already have skills in the area, to sharpen them. Deathclan is not an orphanage, and it should not treated as one."

Aelin nodded at Patch's statement. "Thankyou for considering my words Patch. I do not mean disrespect, its just that where I come from I've seen many leaders rise and fall, most bringing changes for the worse." she responded. She was old enough to have learned for those mistakes in her old home, as well as recognize a good leader. She saw some of those traits, though one could not judge such a thing through one speech. That was why the option Patch had picked was honestly the one that went over the best with her, it gave cats a chance to really see what leadership skills you had. Being the best fighter never meant you were the best leader, just the one to hold the position longer than anyone else available, which was only a good thing for selfish gain.

There seemed to be a lot of talking between Natalia and the cat he never saw before, and he was just about to agree with the she-cat that Patch should prove herself when Patch suddenly spoke out. Listening, Rot wasn't sure if he would entirely do the 'training groups' thing since he wasn't good with a whole bunch of cats he never met, let alone one.
Rot nodded slightly towards Natalia as she spoke up. She chose the right words. It would be nice if DeathClan finally fought with the other Clans again. With stronger cats, DeathClan could truly be DeathClan once again. If Patch was the Leader DeathClan deserved, would she have DeathClan fight others? Would she declare war on IceClan, or think that they shouldn't? Finally speaking up, Rot meowed, "If you are the Leader DeathClan deserves, what will we do with the other Clans?"

Patch nodded in respect to both Natalia and Aelin. "Like Natalia said, Deathclan is not an orphanage. When a younger member joins Deathclan, they'll join a group of cats to train with. We won't train daily, but we will still train. Aside from the fact of sharpening skills, it also lets us get to know each other. In my case, I can barely name five cats that are still around here that I actually know." She added on to Natalia's statement.
Then her head turned towards Rot. Attacking other clans? The thought used to sicken her, but as time passed she had learned that she must have loyalty to Deathclan and not be soft on the other clans. She nodded politely to the young tom. "I have an idea of expanding our territory. But to do that, we will need to fight Treeclan over it. I've personally planned to bring two other cats with me to set markers in two days."

Aelin bit her lip, clearly disapproving but not voicing any of her opinions. As Patch had just said, Deathclanners were practically strangers. They weren't in a position to band together and go to war. With that and so many other reasons, she didn't think it was a good idea at all, but she had said her words and she would see how things played out for a little before going back of them in any way.

Natalia stepped forward once more. "If you're feeling unsure about the idea of training in groups... It's likely a one on one teacher-student relationship may arise." She glanced towards Patch. The black and white she-cat had misunderstood the tabby's suggestion. Then she looked back at Rot and Aelin. "From an old member of Deathclan who was old long before any of us here were born... I was told that there used to be a trainee system in Deathclan." She began.
"When a cat would join Deathclan, they would eventually find someone who would train them. They would accept lessons from that cat for however many moons was deemed necessary by the trainer, before they would be considered an adult and full member of Deathclan." Her tail passively waved behind her. "I'm interested in helping Patch implement something similar, at least."
