Quail had been doing better these last few moons. He had been taught how to hunt finally by this nice she-cat, although she seemed pretty scary with all of those scars. For the time being, the tom-kit had decided to stay in the barn for his current days. It had lots of prey and really no threats at all. He had shelter from the storms and the new cold chills.
The dusty brown tom playfully walked along the boards of the barn, observing the hay and the birds that made their nests in the rafters. This was a nice place, better than the alleys of trash that he relied on for shelter and food. Suddenly, a figure caught the corner of his eye. Quail turned around and smiled in greeting.
"Howdy, stranger! What brings you here?"

Layne Layne, having trouble keeping up on eating, started straying more and more further from his path, not like he really had one. He believe he smelled something... by this building of sorts. He only really remembered grass... and of course the city, this was quite oddly placed... in the middle of the grass. His eyes slitted slightly as he heard an odd voice, turning around to find another feline. "Oh, well..." he huffed, "I guess the smell of something edible, rats or something like that."

Quail tilted his head, flicking his ears. "Rats? Well, we do have a lot of mice, if that counts." He exclaimed, looking around. In the time that he was there, he did catch a few sights of rats, and they were kinda creepy.
"You mind a hunting partner? I haven't eaten too much lately." He admitted. When the tom-kit first learned to hunt, he gorged himself with all the prey he could. But now he was still that thin kit who actually has a stable diet.

Layne "Oh... mice, right," he said, blank on the moment. He remembered seeing mice, but he use to really only try for rats, since the size of them, and how overpopulated they were. "Sure," he said with a shrug, He decided this feline seemed innocent-seeming enough to trust, especially since he hasn't met many others.
