that title is like, super cringy, but ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Also I started the post with Bir knowing a little bit about CloudClan, but then like, I just threw that away since the idea of him being amazed about them was more interesting. And yeah. Also I think a kitten realizing about this stuff would be interesting to rp so, here we go~
Birchkit scampered into the nursery with his mind buzzing with questions. He was still very young, and this current moment was taking place only a few hours before his restless sleep and interaction with Frostkit. But even with his age, Birchkit thoughts had focused on something he was curious about. Two warriors had passed by where he had been play fighting with his siblings, talking about something called "CloudClan". It wasn't uncommon to hear the word float around FireClan, but who were they? Birchkit knew of the four neighboring clans of IceClan, TreeClan, and RockClan-- although, he was still too young and dull to pinpoint their differences just yet. But CloudClan? Where did they live?
Perhaps in being so young and inexperienced with life, his mother Amberflash hadn't jumped at the chance to shove her religion down his throat. And that was good, allowing the kitten to go about his childhood days without the knowledge about the afterlife just yet, still believing no one ever died. Yet, now was the moment he would find out about the more serious, and spiritually part of life. A moment where Birchkit would take that final step, from clueless kitten, to an understanding child.
So when he saw his mother in the nursery, where he knew she had to be, Birchkit leapt towards her and plopped down right before Amberflash's eyes. "Mommy?" he began, licking his dry lips a moment later. "Do you know what CloudClan is?"

Amberflash had found herself bearing more kits, seasons upon seasons after the birth of her original surviving kits, Hazelclaw and Birdheart. She could only hope all of her kits this time, made it to warriorhood and grew to bear kittens of their own as well. Or not. It was up to them, really. She was going to try and be a better mother this time... Or at least try to make sure they knew they were loved.
She wasn't sure Hazelclaw knew that...
Honestly, she was a bit worried about her kits' opinions about her giving them little siblings, especially this late in life. What would they think? She didn't regret their existence, not at all. All of them were... They were good kids, even if Frostkit and Hailkit were a bit weirder than normal. She was only worried about the thoughts of Hazelclaw in particular. Her son had a bit more of her in him than she would've liked. The white-furred she-cat knew of her own temper, and she could only hope it wasn't mirrored in the brown tabby and turned on her.
Anyways, in the present moment Birchkit leaped before her and asked a weird question. She thought about it. She hadn't immediately moved to explain about Cloudclan and all of it. As far as she could tell, Frostkit hadn't really taken to it with the strong belief of most clans cats.
"Cloudclan... Are the spirits of cats who have died. The spirits of cats who have died since the founding of the four clans." She began. "They watch over the living, and supposedly give us guidance when... Things aren't going so well. I don't know much about that second part. They usually talk to the leader or the medicine cats." She didn't share that she more or less shared her daughter Frostkit's view on Cloudclan. She'd never really bought into the idea that Cloudclan were some all-knowing sages or something.
