Cricketpaw entered the nursery with a large wad of fresh moss in her jaws. Duststorm, her father, had recently been taking up her training. And he had given her the task of cleaning the dirty nests for the queens and kits. Which, wasn't a difficult job, but was time consuming.
Looking around, the tortoiseshell apprentice wondered if any of the residents here would approach her. Well, even if they did, Cricketpaw still had work to do. So she sat down next to one of the queen's nests, which smelled of Sorrelpatch, and started to work.
That's when she noticed one of Sorrelpatch's kits, which she didn't know the name of (Lilliekit), in the nest. "Oh, hello." Cricketpaw started in surprise.

Lilliekit had been having a nice dream. she was running with Sorrelpatch in the forest, a new warrior, and they were going hunting on the edge of the territory. she was about to catch a mouse when she was rudely awoken. "Hey! i was having a good dream!" she snapped. "oh. you're changing the moss. well, make it quick! you interrupted my dream!" Lilliekit got off the nest, irritably licking her paw till she calmed down. "i'm sorry. i was being unfair. I'm Lilliekit. i see your just cleaning the moss. i'm so very sorry. let me help you. who are you? maybe we could hang out in camp later? i really have no one who plays with me!"

Cricketpaw jumped as the kitten woke up, and was instantly annoyed at being taken out of a good dream. The tortoiseshell's ears flattened. "Sorry, miss." she apologized. As Sorrelpatch's daughter noticed the moss at the apprentice's paws, she realized the reason why and got out of the way, though told her to be quick about it.
Guess she's not much of a morning cat. Cricketpaw reasoned, not at all ruffled by the kit's irritation. She got to work, moving quickly just as the calico wanted, with a light twitch of amusement in her whiskers as her paws moved.
A little while later, the calico kit seemed to have calmed down, and started to ramble on. And when Lilliekit was done talking, Cricketpaw finally turned a carefree smile to her. "Apologies accepted, Lilliekit. Hi, I'm Cricketpaw." she introduced in a friendly tone.
Glancing down at the moss, Cricketpaw gave a little shrug. "If you want to help, you can. But you don't have to. You'll have to do more than enough den cleaning when you're an apprentice like me."
And finally, she addressed the final question with a purr. "Sure, I'll play with you! I actually don't have any friends, either...." the tortoiseshell admitted softly. After a pause, she gestured back to her work. "As soon as I finish replacing your mother and Autumndust's nests, we can play a game."

Lilliekit cheered up at once and grabbed some moss. dragging it over to Autumndust's nest, she lay it out and grabbed the old moss. she dragged it back to Cricketpaw. cocking her head, she asked, "Did i do it right? i wanna be the best and most obedient cat in the Clan! Are we done now? can we play? Cricketpaw, i forgot to ask how you are today?" Lilliekit tried her best to be kind. after all, this she-cat was very nice to her. her eyes glittered as she stared up at Cricketpaw.

Cricketpaw found Lilliekit's multitude of questions kind of cute, and she was happy to answer them all.
"Let's see now," she began kindly, looking over the new nest. Of course, it wasn't the best work Cricketpaw had seen. But this was Lilliekit's first attempt, and frankly, she considered it a good one. "I think you did pretty good, Lilliekit. But here, let me show you the way my mentor taught me." she murmured, easily fixing the nest with her paws as she explained.
When she was done, Cricketpaw finally answered what else was asked. "Yes, now that we're done, we can play! And that's alright, I'm doing well today, thank you for asking! And you?" Cricketpaw meowed.

Lilliekit jumped up and down. "Great now that you are here! let's go to the clearing and play. someone's going chase you out!" she laughed happily. she grabbed some old moss and rolled it into a ball before dashing out to wait.
(could you create the one in the clearing? and Nightpaw can join us!)
