Egretkit lay in her mother's nest, lazily on her back. It was what the she-cat mostly did during the day, sometimes all day. She had gotten so used to sleeping that it had become her "hobby". "Mama won't wake me up soon.." She mumbled in her sleep, not noticing that one of her littermates were near.
The she-kit just keep on snoozing, snoring occasionally. Egretkit twitched and fidgeted in her sleep, sighing softly a couple of times.

In sharp contrast to Egretkit, Frostkit found herself with troubles falling asleep and staying asleep. Whenever she woke up hours before anyone else, she was never able to get back to sleep. She often looked upon her sister Egretkit with a pouting look of jealousy. She made it look so easy!
She was currently sitting up in their family's shared nest, staring at Egretkit's fidgeting form. Would it be mean to poke Egretkit in the tummy right now? Impulsively, reached over and jabbed her sister's stomach.

The she-kit let out a squeak of pain as she was jabbed. "Oww stop that hurts." She complained, blinking her eyes open. Egretkit glared up at her sister, still lying down on her back. "What was that for! I didn't do anything to you!"

Frostkit winced and wore a sheepish smile. "Er, sorry..." She didn't like being glared at it. It... Wasn't really nice being glared at. She looked away. "S-Sorry... I was just lonely and wanted someone to talk to... And I wasn't thinking ahead."
