NightingaleThe plains weren't something that Sky generally enjoyed. They were too easy. Easy prey, easy herbs, easy shelter. Easy was boring, and when she was bored she tended to think too hard. So, she needed to find something to do. So, when the cool breeze changed directions to face her, the smell of another cat forced her onto her paws. A perfect distraction. Sky sauntered towards the fresh scent, her tail swishing coolly behind her.

Maleficent liked the plains. She really liked them, preferred them greatly over the canyon, with its choking heat and blinding sunshine. The plains were a refreshing alternative, filled with wildflowers for miles, sunrays dewy and cool.
She was sitting amongst a grove of snowdrops, deep blue eyes critiquing the landscape, almost sighing in annoyance when a cat's silhouette appeared. She stood up slowly, stretching out to her full height, svelte frame slinking forward. As she got closer, she realised the cat was blind - scars covering where her eyes used to be. Rose narrowed her own deep blue ones.
"Blind? Pity. You'd be so pretty otherwise."
Her tone was cutting, and purposefully so. Rose, honestly, didn't even care anymore.

Sky purred, amused. "Aw, is that the best you could do? You're gonna have to try harder if you want to offend me, sweetheart." She circled the feline, tail low, legs in, as if she was about to pounce at any moment. But she wouldn't.
Probably.
"My gaydar is out of control." Sky mocked. She wasn't exactly sure what she was doing, if she was being honest with herself. She needed to spice things up, and that just happened. She supposed the cats reaction could be good.

Maleficent let out a dry laugh. "Offend you? Oh, darling, don't flatter yourself. You're not that important."
The stranger then started circling her, as if she was about to pounce, but Maleficent didn't react other than a small twitch of her long tail. Perhaps the she-cat will attack, perhaps she won't. She was prepared either way.
"If you do attack, mind the coat. It's worth a shining something," she commented idly, eyelids dropping an inch as she regarded the cat. Her claws remained sheathed. She wasn't worried.
"My gaydar is out of control," the other she-cat mocked her. Another dry laugh ensured as chocolate ears twitched in acknowledgement.
"Trying to mock me? Come on, love, give me something to work with!" she almost exclaimed, throwing her deep blue eyes into a dramatic roll.

Sky shrugged lazily, and suddenly she wasn't circling her anymore. Instead, Sky dropped down like a squashed fly, legs up in the air. "Ugh, cats are so boring sometimes, don't you agree, love?" She copied the feline, ears flicked back. Being on her back was clearly a sign of confidence, especially for a blind cat, which is exactly the message she wanted this cat to get.
Sky was completely competent to kill somebody, and she wasn't afraid to do it.
(Muse, oh muse, why have you died?)

Maleficent smiled, but not a comforting smile; it was secretive, knowing, almost obnoxiously cocky. Her eyes followed the she-cat as it flopped onto the floor, four legs up, completely exposing her belly.
The cat was confident.
It's okay. So is Maleficent.
She looked away, knowing (or at least hoping) that the stranger was smart enough to not attack. What was the point of getting your paws dirty, especially with blood, blood that stains fur for days on end and follows you everywhere you go with an irony tang?
Maleficent really didn't want to kill anyone today.
She flicked her ear in acknowledgement at the words.
"Really? You think that? Guess your mind isn't too sharp, then," she smiled, a smug close-lipped smile with empty eyes.

“Oh trust me, my mind is a lot sharper than you think.” Sky offered a rather devious grin- just as cocky Malificents. Sky rolled gracefully into her paws, tail flicking smoothly in the air. “So, kitty, what are we gonna do? More back and forth spats, a spar, a real fight, or leave?”
-back again with no muse.-
