|| Pumpkinkit || Palefire yawned and stretched in her nest, feeling the morning sun’s warmth against her fur. ’It must have just risen.’
She leaned down to sniff her kit, wondering if he had woken up yet. He was her first kitten born in FireClan, and she was already so proud. She tried to tap him gently with her tail, wanting to see if he’d respond. ’I’ll leave him to rest if he’s still sleeping.’

pumpkinkit jumped slightly when something poked him, awakening him from his half awake-half asleep daze. he shook his head quickly, his did becoming slightly messy from the action.
smiling softly, pumpkinkit looked upwards at the source of the poke. the ginger kitten grinned up at his mother, not realising that she couldn't see it, before leaping forwards a little bit and burying his face into her fur. pumpkinkit breathed in the familiar scent and purred out a quick, "morning."

Palefire flinched at the sudden touch, but soon erupted into purrs. ”Good morning to you too, Pumpkin.” She replied, moving to give him a few rough licks on the head. ’I remember when Whitejaw was this small...’ Her thoughts trailed off, heart beginning to ache for the RockClanner, but she forced the memories out. She had a new job to do.
She interrupted her licking with a whisper. ”Did you sleep well?”

pumpkinkit grinned when he was spoken back to, letting out a small squeak when palefire began to lick him, "noo stop!" he whined slightly, although his giggling showed that he was actually enjoying himself.
"i slept good," the young tabby purred, beginning to scratch at an itch behind his ear, "did you sleep well?"

Palefire smiled. ”That’s good to hear. Did you dream?” She asked, shifting around in her nest to get comfy. ”I slept well, too. No dreams for me though.” At least, she didn’t think she did, but it was likely that she had just forgotten.
