Thymekit sat in front of the nursery doing one of his favorite activities.
That activity being cat-watching.
He had picked out someone from across the clearing and had followed them with his gaze for a good amount of time. He stared unblinkingly with his large kitten eyes, wondering if, or when, this cat would notice him.

Something was there. She could feel it. Something was watching her.
This made Barrensong super uneasy. She did not know who it was, or where they were, but it was a strange feeling. Was this how prey felt?
Eventually, the warrior turned and saw her lurker. She grinned, making her way over, pretending that she did not notice him there before. What was this kit up to anyways?

Thymekit giggled loudly when the she-cat had finally caught sight of him. That took forever. He swished his tail around in delight, though stopped all of his movements when he realized the warrior was heading his way. He snapped his mouth shut and stayed silent.
The tom continued to stare, expressionless and motionless as the warrior moved closer and closer. He would not be the first to speak. Unfortunately, he had no idea that this cat was mute.

Oh, so he wanted to have a stare-off still? Barrensong was okay with that. The warrior eventually reached the kitten and sat down, staring at him, trying to read him. Intelligent. Mischievous. Observant. Great traits for a Treeclanner that the young cat possessed.
She couldn't handle it anymore once she realized how long they were staring and each other, and she turned her head away, wanting to look at something else in the meantime. When was the kitten going to talk? Weren't they always so talkative about everything? Unless, he was a mute too.

Thymekit tried not to act surprised when she sat and stared back at him. That was odd. He thought she was going to question him, maybe even get him in trouble somehow. But she didn’t. He did nothing for as long as possible, staring at Barrensong intensely as long as she looked at him.
Then she finally looked away. Thymekit let a smirk crawl onto his face. It felt like he’d accomplished something. He was a little sad that their game was over, though. He had taken a liking to this cat. He continued staring, though now with a happier expression.

Barrensong caught on that the kitten was still willing to play the game, even if she lost. She gave him a slight smile before falling into a stretch and then plopped herself to the ground, yawning and extending her claws. She was tired, but if the kitten wanted to just stare at her, so be it. She was confused as to why he looked so happy? He could be spending his time doing something else even.

Thymekit watched as she settled down. He lowered himself to the ground and inched closer to her face, taking a playful stance. He looked at Barrensong, then glanced over at a nearby moss-ball, then back to the she-cat, as if he was asking if she wanted to play with it.

Lilliekit squeaked from across the clearing as the moss-ball she was playing with flew and landed near a kit and warrior. as she padded toward it, she gazed curiously at the quiet cats. the kit was a tom, that was clear. the warrior was a she-cat. Lilliekit wondered if that was the mute warrior she'd heard so much about. "hello! wanna play moss-ball with me? my friends are all busy so i'd love a cat or two to play with!" she meowed as she reached her moss-ball and was in ear-shot of the two cats.
