|| Adaline || Rainlight let out a frustrated sigh. As much as she tried to deny it, she knew the truth: Her great-grandkits were little brats. One of them was so disrespectful that she went to the extent of leaving FireClan. But that was just unacceptable. She didn’t raise her daughter to raise a son to raise some kits for this to happen. No no no. She waited for Adaline to fall asleep, then padded into her dream. ”Hello.”

Addie's dream was rather.... Nightmarish. She stood in a field of grass, resembling Fireclan's territory. Except it was devoid of color, gray and colorless. Aside from the flecks of red of bloodstained grass surrounded a few cat carcasses strewn about here and there. In her dream, she'd been hunting a rabbit that looked to be half-dead, its guts spilling out. When she bit into it and killed it, it left a foul taste in her mouth. It was disgusting. She spat it out.
Then suddenly something changed when Addie turned around, to see a vaguely familiar silvery cat appear. All the disturbing aspects of the dream washed away like watercolor, giving way to a more normal dream of simple Fireclan territory during Greenleaf. She'd never met Rainlight before, but had seen her from afar. She still was able to recognize the former queen, even if it had taken a while. She couldn't imagine why she'd dream of the queen so....
She figured Rainlight must be dead. Which.... She figured she should feel something. Rainlight was her great-grandmother yet... Addie didn't put much stock in blood relations so, she just... Didn't really think much of it.
"... Why are you here?" She asked bluntly, cutting straight to the point.

It was odd that Adaline didn’t question who she was. Rainlight was fairly sure that they’d never met, but if she already knew who she was, that just made it easier for her to cut to the chase. She walked closer until she could get a clear, good look at the she-cat. ’She’s beautiful. But I’m not here to praise her. She needs to be disciplined.’
”I’m here because you’re making the wrong decision.” The spirit said, narrowing her eyes at Adaline. She stood tall, shoulders stretched wide and posture picture-perfect. She was preparing herself to argue, as she was fairly sure that this interaction would lead to a disagreement if Adaline was anything like her kin.
”You shouldn’t have left FireClan.”

Addie looked away, sitting down on the ground. Was this what this was about? Her leaving Fireclan? Rainlight trying to correct a mistake that she'd made? She didn't know why the queen cared so much. She had other people she could visit probably, who were worth more. Addie.... She was a lost cause and dead to Fireclan already, so.... What was the point?
"..... I didn't want to stay." She didn't know if Rainlight could understand, but it was suffocating. Her family was incredibly toxic, and she'd lost one of her only friends, Swanfrost. Mudclaw.... He deserved better than her. She didn't want to think about how she might've hurt them, but she.... She just couldn't stay. The idea of being free from it just.... It was too great of a temptation.

”I didn’t want to stay.”
”So what? You swore to protect your clan when you became a warrior. You can’t go back on your word.” Rainlight couldn’t understand how someone could just turn their back on their clan. The same clan that raised you, trained you, fed you... it just didn’t make sense. ’Though what would have caused her to flee?’ Even if Pinyondapple’s litter wasn’t the most respectable bunch, she didn’t think this action would be out of sheer rebellion.
”Your clanmates miss you. They think you’re dead.” Part of her wanted to tell others that Adaline was still alive, but at the same time she wanted the tabby to return and accept the reactions.

Addie scoffed. ".... There's not much to protect the clan from. The only problems we have are internal." She pointed out. Then she huffed. ".... Yeah. That was the point of leaving my blood there." She hadn't wanted anyone to follow her or to.... Keep hope that she would still be alive and come back someday. She gritted her teeth, digging her claws into the earth.
Her dream seemed to lose a little bit of its color.
((how do dreams work idk))
