UPDATE: The wonderful Mintleaf has made a roleplay check. you ALL must reply to it before you reply here. Click Here
Okay so, this is the whole thread that is meant to instill order in the nursery. So you are not to skim, skip, or ignore this thread.I will hunt you down and shoot you.I will not be happy with you, since making sure all the new role players of the clan know what they are doing is extremely difficult. You don’t need to make it harder. And so, read this whole darn post and be happy about it.
First of all, I want you all to got reread those rules you should have already read. And since some of them never seem to stick, I’ll relay a few here so I don’t have to PM you all.
Rule Number 7: This rule clearly state you can only be in one in character thread at once. That means I should see, at most someone with two threads that say they where the last to reply. And that would only be because the people you where rping with were not replying, and right when you moved on they came back. I don’t mind that. Looking and seeing ‘Patchkit’ as the most resent post on 5 to 7 threads really gets on my nerves though.
Rule Number 14: This rule says that you can’t mate or die without Jamie’s permission. Not that that should even be an issue right now, since if you want to kill of yourself as a kit there is something wrong with you, and kits even liking each other isn’t allowed.
Second order of business. What kits can and can’t do. Thing is, very few people seem to know this. That or they just want things to be interesting. Well, things can get interesting when you prove you are reliable enough to reach 50 posts while not being in every thread at once. Because this is the basic fact: Kits play in camp, the nursery, and sleep and eat. That is it. They do not all sneak out of camp, they do not enter the other dens without being kicked up within 5 seconds of entering, and they do not all have amazing things happen to them. They don’t. Kits make friends, play, and dream about being a warrior if they are ambitious. That is as fascinating as their little lives get. They can’t even hunt as they DON’T KNOW HOW. So, yes it stinks but too bad. Not to mention, liking someone is a no no. You’re not allowed to like someone till you are a warrior.
Also, another topic that has been brought up. Kit names. There are some major bad things in this section I see a lot, and I don’t want Ferny to have to deal with. I don’t want to deal with it. First off, kits can only be named things cats know about. My dear cat Leopardfire ain’t naming her little guys Inkkit, Pillowkit, or Housekit. Not happening, as my dear huge kitty is CLANBORN and has no clue what the heck those things are. And no personality traits either. None of the Queens would have any clue what their little darling are going to be like, so they won’t give them a name they might not turn out to fit. Ferny is in charge of names, so if yours is borderline, or you are unsure, ask her about it, but don’t bug her. She works hard and doesn’t need that. If you need help to find a new one, ask either of us.
On that topic, what kits are like. They are little bits of fur. They are not ‘sleek and muscular’ not that that is even possible in the first place. You would have to be one or the other, and kits wouldn’t be either. When you where barn you where fat, skin, and bone. You were not strong in anything but the lung category. Kits are the same. Same with personality. As a baby, she showed the starts of traits and your parents knew you might be quiet, adventurous, or loyal, but you where not fully developed yet, and neither will your kit be. They can be ‘Loyal to the bone and fun loving but a nasty temper.’ Not to mention that doesn’t make much sense written like that.
So, kit personalities. I already mentioned it slightly, saying they aren't fully developed, but from what guys have given me, i know I haven't said enough. So, another fun fact. If you describe your character as "Happy, friendly, outgoing, brave, gentle, fierce, nice, sweet, smart, ect" And nothing else, you have what is known as a Mary Sue or Gary Stu character. In other words, they are perfect. They have no faults, there is nothing wrong with them, and they can't exist. If you ever try to roll play at any higher a level that this you will find this is highly frowned on, and REALLY boring to role play or role play with. Why? Cause their too perfect. no one whats to act out something where their character makes mistakes, and the other person's don't. You need to add some bad traits in there, such as: Slow, thick, clumsy, anti-social, bad with others, bad with words, blunt, cold, uncaring, distant, hurt, broken, sad, depressed, has a bad temper, ect. But you can't do all those either or your still no fun to play with cause EVERYONE has to have a good side. If you need help finding a balanced personality, ask someone for help.
Also, there is not a factor of one out of ten kits born out of clan. Maybe on in 50 if you are lucky, and that would be because, maybe, your mother just managed to get you to camp before falling over dead, because saying that, for example, your kit was born outside of the clan but their mother died and they found their way here makes no sense. They’d be dead, end of story. If you want to be born out of clan, ask Wildstar/Jamie for a plot, or ask me for permission. Preferably, both.
And all at that is not mentioning yet the fact that you don’t have a bunch of posts in a row of just OOC, or out of Characternot occ children. if you want to talk out of character, go to the General board of do it over PM. Yes, OOC threads for just TreeClan are an exception, but that is it.
Another thing: KITS CAN'T FIGHT. We've learned that in the nursery raid thread in RockClan, unfortunately. Kits are HELPLESS AGAINST ANY SORT OF ATTACKER! Therefore they cannot, and do not know how to, BEAT UP A FULLY GROWN WARRIOR OR EVEN AN APPRENTICE.
Plus: They wouldn't last a second against a badger, fox, hawk, etc. They'd be dead the moment the predator saw them. Scratch that, kits aren't even allowed out of the camp to encounter any of these animals. And if any of these animals invaded the camp; let alone the nursery, THE KITS WOULD BE KEPT IN THE NURSERY AND THEY'D BE THE ONLY ONES NOT FIGHTING. End of story. < Thanks to Koisplash for this paragraph
More irritating little things will be added as they need to be >>
Okay, now onto daily life. Around here, it feels like a lot of the time I run most things. Oakspirit, called Oaky, can only get on on weekends during the school year and Harrow, or Harrowingpride, never seems to enter the nursery >> Harrow, if you read this,I blame youlove you darling. So, it would be best to PM me, or maybe Harrowing unless in it is summer in the Western hemisphere, then Oaky is available.
Role Playing. Some people seemed to have not realized this, but this site is trying to leave ** rping behind. You know, where your actions are in the ** and words are not? Come on people, if you can’t write a full sentence you might not want to be here in the first place. Is it really that hard to write
Patchkit leaped at the falling leaf, and having practiced, landed on it. “Got ya!” he yowled, hitting the ground.
That’s all you need, just no *leaps at falling leaf* *hits* Got ya! *lands* Cause that just looks stupid. My little sister can write that good, and she wouldn’t be able to find her way to this site anyway she is so young. Not to mention she can’t read well enough, so I think you can all write a full sentence. At least I would sure hope so. And no, I don’t mind if you are new at this and your sentence is not as extravagant as mine is. I’m not going to condemn you for something that stupid.
Registration:
This is a requirement. I don’t want to see you role playing without either being on this list, or having replied to this thread. This is also the ONLY thing you should be reply to this thread with. It any one ends up with why to many kits, I'll close them for getting more. here is what we look like, Harrow, change this if I'm wrong.
Leopardfire: Huge bengal-spotted cat with green eyes.
Oakspirit: Lithe calico with amber eyes.
Harrowingpride: Medium-sized brown tabby with blue eyes.
Their kits will not all look like them.
