Alright, let's say that there leaf is a mouse. Mice can feel your pawsteps in the ground, so it's very easy to scare them off. You must step lightly and quietly before reaching it. Then, once you're ready, pounce and kill it with a single swipe from your claw. Just like this.
*Lightly scampers from behind a tree, gets down on haunches, wriggles rearend then pounces, clawing the leaf with a single claw*
Now you try.

*trys to get into hunting pisition(i dont know how to spell it) and pounces on the leaf. falls off ballence, but swipes it hard whipping it off the ground*mew!

Mistpaw, try it more like this: *Gets on her haunches, leaps on leaf, then claws the leaf* See? It's not so hard. Try again.
...And Nightpaw, *Looks at Nigpaw sternly*, please get on task. You three are no longer kits, so don't act like them! All of you have been waiting in the nursery for the longest time to become apprenticed, and now you are. IceClan needs warriors so get on task, all of you!

Good, good, Mistpaw, you're getting it. Now everyone, follow me to the woods. I know none of you apprentices ever had a propper tour of IceClan territory, but I just wanted to get down to the basics first. So let's go over to this very small section where you guys will have to try and find a mouse, then kill it using that technique. First one to bring a killed mouse to me wins the title of best apprentice of the day, and they'll get to eat it too!
*Leads all three apprentices over down a winding trail downhill to a grassy, mossy, and dirty location, dotted with trees*
Alright, now, start the hunt. Again, the goal is to track down one mouse, kill it how I just showed you, and bring it here. Good luck.
