Dogpaw & SwiftstepLyric had just gotten the next hostage, Skykit. The tom smelled like beech, maple, and oak trees. She was used to the smell of pines and fir trees, so it was a bit odd. She approached the sandy hole where she kept the RockClan kit, Dogkit. Lyric climbed in, putting down Skykit. "I am Lyric, your caretaker. Dogkit, this is your new den-mate. What is your name? Do you have any serious injuries?" she questioned after the introductions, sniffing the TreeClan kit.

| DOG&LYRIC I let out a little gasp of air as I was placed into the pit, a mixture of relief and fear was fogging my senses. Then the bombarding of questions came. Am I hurt? Yeah. My name? Skykit. The other ones flew by me. I gulped as I looked at the cat, my eyes were as round as could be. "I'm only hurt on the scruff and just a few scratches..." I muttered lightly, not liking how motherly this seemed. "I'm Skykit." |

Lace up your shoes Here's how we do Run baby run Don't ever look back They'll tear us apart if you give them the chance Don't sell your heart, don't say we're not meant to be Run baby run, forever we'll be You and me | Dogkit had been up fairly early. It was no good if he slept in, and it had always been a habit that was drilled into his mind. The green-eyed male spent his morning eating and replenishing his strength and composure. It had been a good few sunrises after he was taken hostage. So far, nothing bad seemed to be happening to him. Lyric cared for him as much as a mother would do, as long as he allowed it of course. Most of the time though, Dogkit did what he did best: observe and learn.
The arrival of the new kit caused Dogkit's curiosity to surface. He remained cautious and silent as always, even as the younger tom was set into the sandpit. The tuxedo-patterned cat was unnervingly still in the corner of the pit. His sea-green eyes took in the scene unfolding before him. Now there was another hostage, another Clan forced to obey DeathClan. |

apologies for procrastination.
Lyric listened to the kit, glancing over at Dogkit. He seemed to be observing Skykit. She gave him a small smile to give him comfort. "I hope the two of you will get along together. You will share the space. Do you want the pit to be a bit bigger?" Lyric took no time to satisfy the needs of the kits her group was taking. The gray and white she-cat looked back at Skykit, speaking after he finished.
"You look as bad as Dogkit did when he got here. I'll get you cleaned up. Dogkit, stay put." she ordered, picking up Skykit to take him to the river. She quickly cleaned the small kit of the blood before taking him back to the pit, gently placing him beside Dogkit. She pranced over to a tree, scooping a few cobwebs. She wasn't a healer, but she knew the small basics, as Drought had told her.
Lyric walked into the pit, sitting beside Skykit. She began to plaster on the cobwebs to the wounds. "It doesn't look so bad. You'll be fine after you rest."

bell tagged: Lyric Dogkit Skykit closed Bell, after receiving a request from Drought to ensure Lyric and her little hostages were contently full, was approaching the she-cat and kits with a mouth filled with squirrel fur. His saliva had made the scruffy grey fur clumpy and relatively foul in the tom's mouth, but with his given task, he had no need to complain. He found the location of the pit through scent alone, since he hadn't previously paid attention to where the clan-borns had been kept away. Noticing Lyric's splotched pelt, Bell made a beeline for the she-cat, unable to call out a greeting due to his catch. Already the clan scents were fading, though distinguishable. With guarded curiosity Bell looked at his charges in the pit, the two little kittens that had been taken from their beds. Briefly he wondered if their tears tasted of loss. That would have been amusing. "Lyric," he greeted, dropping the squirrel with care. "I heard you needed an extra paw, Drought sent me out hunting for you." Indicating the squirrel with his tail the ginger and white tuxedo sat down. "There's another two mice buried out near the river, but I couldn't carry them at once. Do you need them now? I don't mind grabbing them," he informed her with a quick grin, before wiping it away. OOC; invading with permission from Leo

Lyric turned her head away from the kits. The gray and white she-cat nodded to Bell, smiling at the squirrel that he had brought them.
"Thank you. If you wouldn't mind getting the mice, that would be splendid." she meowed with a purr. The gray and white she-cat flicked her tail, grabbing the squirrel to haul it in the hole.
"Food's here, kits." she meowed to the clan kits.

| DOG&LYRIC&BELL I looked on in disgust at the newcomer. I was not quite accustomed to the scent of the this so called "clan" and nor would I ever be. My eyes only took a brief glance over the other kit. He had been taken away like a poor little sad sap too. It was frustrating that I was unable to anything to protect myself except for leave a tiny scratch on Drought's nose. I huffed and looked at the squirrel with distaste.
The half starved looking squirrel was tossed in front of us. "I could catch something better and I'm a kit," I muttered underneath my breath so that the other kit could only hear. "Whatever," I meowed, finally loud enough for the others to hear. |

Lace up your shoes Here's how we do Run baby run Don't ever look back They'll tear us apart if you give them the chance Don't sell your heart, don't say we're not meant to be Run baby run, forever we'll be You and me | Dogkit's shoulders tightened with tension at the sight of a new cat. Judging from how easily he talked to Lyric and his ability to hunt for food indicated that this ginger tabby was also an adult of DeathClan. Dog was not at all comfortable with having other rogues in his vicinity other than Lyric, and even with the patched she-cat he was wary. Dog had no idea how this Bell character would react to him and Skykit and what his demeanor would be like. Not knowing for certain had Dogkit inspecting Bell more than he usually did. So far, he had gotten the idea that Bell was a laid back creature, mild and polite. What Dogkit wondered if it was just a front or a personality reserved for his allies.
The sight of the skinny squirrel made Dogkit's stomach twist with hunger. He didn't want to make it obvious that he was hungry, because if he had blindly went for the carcass, he might get scolded and punished. It didn't matter to him if Lyric was nicer than he actually suspected her to be. Dogkit wasn't stupid enough to do that. Instead, he waited for the TreeClan kit to make the first move. The tuxedo cat's ears twitched once as he listened to the polite conversation the two DeathClanners were having. The sound of his new companion's whisper had Dog's sea-green eyes turning to face him. He blinked, amused by the tom's remark. "Perhaps if you were older," he pointed out plainly. |

bell tagged: skykit dogkit lyric closed Bell chuckled at the obvious distaste with which he was viewed. The only mildly warm look he fetched was from Lyric, which was to be expected. "Your pride is admirable, little warrior," Bell nodded with a dip of his head. "But better to survive on my scrawny kill now so you can show me up when you're older." The tom wasn't often one to give at advice, and when he did most of it wasn't useful. In his opinion all clan cats were a little too prideful for their own good. He had been hoping that taking kits instead of warriors would counter that problem. But no, apparently not. "Now, if you're so against squirrel, I suppose I'd best get those mice, like Lyric asked," the tom sighed dramatically, as if incredibly heart-broken by the kit's rejection of his hard work. In truth, it had practically walked into his paws, and wasn't worth his concern. With a parting smile at the kits, Bell turned to Lyric and nodded. "Right then, they're not far out, so I'll be back in a jiffy."With that he disappeared out of the hole once again, whisking his tail along cheerfully behind him.

Lyric narrowed her gaze at the kits' behavior. The gray and white she-cat gave him a hard flick on the head with her tail, shaking her head. "You are being extremely rude. You should be grateful that you are getting prey, even if it is scrawny." she chided, flattening her ears. I would have hoped that he would at least have learned some manners from his clan. Apparently, they are nothing more than stuck up foxes I thought they were. She gave Bell a nod as he went to get the prey.
"Eat. It will make you feel better." she meowed plainly, climbing from the hole as she awaited Bell's return.

Lace up your shoes Here's how we do Run baby run Don't ever look back They'll tear us apart if you give them the chance Don't sell your heart, don't say we're not meant to be Run baby run, forever we'll be You and me | Dogkit watched in disinterest, as quiet as he had always been. He mentally scoffed at Skykit's defiant act against Bell, deeming it a foolish way to rebel. The logical part of him assumed that the TreeClan kit would soon be reprimanded for acting too arrogant and reckless. Bell however, seemed unfazed at all by Skykit's haughty attitude. He took it with great ease and even found humor in the younger male's spiteful words. As time dragged on, Dog found Bell more and more intriguing and all the more confusing.
Blue-green optics settled once again on the squirrel, surely cold from the elongated neglect from both kits. Dog cast a glance at Skykit, his ear flicking in recognition at the sound of scratching claws against sand as Lyric jumped out of the pit. "That was nonsensical. If you had more desire and sense to survive, you wouldn't have provoked them. Arrogance is suicide here." Satisfied with his input on Skykit's behavior, the grey-and-white male proceeded to approach the squirrel carcass. He sat down in front of it and tore off pieces of meat for him to satiate his hunger. |

- Since Skykit hasn't posted for a while -Bell couldn't help feeling slightly like a slave, working these long hours for the little kits. It was ironic, and he found enough amusement in that not to complain as he dropped himself into the ditch again. Two brown mice, fat and swinging by their tails, were in his mouth. These he dropped on the ground with a sigh of distaste. Give him fish over mouse any-day, please. He couldn't stand the feeling of fur tickling his throat. It was like eating a rock. Wrong on so many levels. The ginger tom noticed with satisfaction that Dogkit had already began tearing at the squirrel. "These are fatter, and juicer I bet. If you were ever to be picky, now would be a good time," he joked with a purr, meandering over to sit himself beside Lyric. The situation was entertaining him, as were the two little hostages. There was no harm in waiting around a little longer, as long as they were fed he technically had no other 'duties' besides his own survival to attend to. And even from that, every now and then Bell needed a holiday. Shooting a glance at the older she-cat, Bell grinned. "Now, you'll have to eat too. There's plenty there, and my instructions were to help you out." It was more than that, actually. It was his own little measuring cup, and already Bell's eyes were alight with curiosity.

| DOG&LYRIC&BELL I gave a ignorant little sniff and looked away from the female. She wasn't my mother. Why should I listen to her? Not like CloudClan was blessing her sorry soul. I groaned bent over the newly brought mouse. I took a whiff of the prickly creature before taking an experimental bite of the creature. I flicked my tail, noting the taste of the rodent. Mostly tasting like a regular mouse, but being tinged with deep inset of DeathClan stench.
I gave a little frown as I continued to eat and finish up the meal, taking Lyrics words into slight consideration. In the end I just huffed and looked away from everyone, trying to not make eye contact with any of them.

Lyric smirked at Dogkit's scolding to Skykit, though she was not listening to the two kits that much. She stood again when she noticed Bell coming near again, dropping the mice in the holes. She gave the tom a nod. "Thank you. Hopefully this will keep them satisfied for a while." she murmured to him. She watched intently as the kits began to eat their meal, Skykit eating one of the mice and Dogkit eating the squirrel.
