The sky was shaded in clouds of grey that circled pass the sun, blocking out light when it could. Marcy gazed around a small field, looking for any signs of Plagued people. As she gazed, her eyes fell on one, like most, its eyes no longer function and it stumbled around. Bite and cut marks scared its skin, and its nails were over grown. The creature's skin was a pale skin color, making it look sick and ill. Like all the other Plagued, it lost its ability to speak when he/she became infected with it. Marcy watched the creature, carefully grabbing her knife and walking closer to it. She hoped that her thick sweater was still able to counter its claws from burrowing into her skin.
After surviving for a while, Marcy knew these creatures were slow and often didn't notice things instantly. When its back was turned, she jabbed the knife into the side of its head. The creature struggled only for a few seconds, before going limp, and falling to the ground. Marcy then took a second and glanced around the field, making she sure she didn't miss any.

"W-wow Marcy. You're s-swift." stuttered Lee. Marcy was Lee's guardian, and basically a mother to him. Lee's family were all plauged, and somehow, he came to Marcy.

"We should go up to them." "No they could attack us." "But the guy is our age we need friends." "Abel friends will kill us." "Alex you don't understand the concept of friends." "Do I need to remind you what happened to mum and dad?" "Of course not, but they don't look dangerous." "She just killed an infected." "We kill infected and there's two of us."
Finally the two of them stopped their whispered arguing. The boy, Abel, took this as a sign that he was home free and stood from his place in the longer grass of the field. He walked forward confidently. He was the more social of the two twins. The other one, a girl, was still hiding in the grass, but kept inching forward to keep up with her brother. She most likely wouldn't be noticed, since he was the center of attention, but if anybody tried to attack him she could spring up and attack them first. That was Alexis.
When Abel stopped in front of the two people he smiled a toothy grin. The older lady was an adult, but the kid was his age, if not younger. Maybe Alexis would actually talk to him. Alex hadn't talked to anybody but him since their parents became some of the infected. It was still a sensitive subject and still made them both incredibly sad, so they preferred not to think of it, but they often used it as an argument
"Hi I'm Abel." Abel stuck his hand out to the two of them his weapon was away and he probably looked as non-threatening as possible, given that he was a singular kid. Although he might look like a distraction, given that not many kids on their own had survived the pandemic. He wouldn't have survived it without Alex and she wouldn't have survived without him, the twins protected each other, and at the moment Alex had her spear poised and ready if anything happened.

"Well, Lee, you have to be quick, can't let these things continue on," Marcy explained, closing the pocket knife. She knew that later she would have to clean it for sanitation reasons, but that could wait until they came across a stream. Her eyes scanned the field, seeing no Plagued wobbling around. "I think this is our lucky day. Not many of them are wandering around here," Marcy said cheerfully. She took another glanced at the ugly creature she had killed, and scanned over it. It didn't appear to have anything of use, nothing for looting at least. That was when she heard a voice, her head whipped around and tensed, until she saw the confident strides and no wobbling.
It was simply a young boy, who looked rather friendly. While he introduced himself, Marcy scanned him for bite or scratch wounds, but there appeared to be none. She extended her hand to the friendly handshake. "Well Abel, I am Marcy, and this is Liam," Marcy said, gesturing over to the boy she had been traveling with. Marcy looked around for perhaps an older figure, like an elder brother or someone he had maybe met, but there seemed to be no one. "So Abel, have you been surviving alone?" Marcy asked, still scanning the grass.
[ Yeah, only people who said their character had relationships know each other, or people with guardians. ]

"H-Hi Abel. Y-yeah, we are lucky today, Marcy." stutterred Lee. Liam always stuttered when he talked. He was still in shock when he saw his family die in front of him. But Abel and another girl looked friendly.

Abel smiled at how nice the lady was. He thought about her question for longer than was needed though. If he told her about Alex then she would probably be mad at him, but if he didn't then she'd have to keep hiding. As Abel was thinking Alexis decided that it would be a good idea to spring a surprise attack on the little group, all except her brother of course. She let out a war cry and lunged forward. It was as if Abel had anticipated it though, because as she flew past him he grabbed her and held her back.
"This is my sister. Alexis." He kept hold of her as she squirmed in his arms, but when he said her name she glared at him. "You started this A. Nobody had to know you were there, but you had to lunge out like you planned to kill everybody." Abel chuckled, but stopped when Alex went limp in his arms and they both fell to the ground. Alexis was quickly back on her feet and almost got two feet forward before Abel grabbed her legs and she was down. "Please back away from my sister, she's not happy around people. She might hit you." Abel yelled as he kept trying to stop her from getting up again. Abel was laughing, but Alex wasn't nearly as happy.

Marcy's question was answered in a few seconds by a war cry and a young girl, who looked very similar to Abel, ran out of the tall grass. She had grip of a spear. However in a few short seconds, Abel had grabbed hold of her, not allowing her to come any closer. While Abel introduced the girl, Marcy's eyes scanned the field again, making sure no Plagued had noticed anything. The two kids fell to the ground, scrambling it seemed One persistent to get up and attack, while the other tried to prevent it.
Marcy watched the two scramble and stepped back when she was told to. One was laughing well the other looked far more annoyed then happy. "Well, either way it is a pleasure to meet both of you," Marcy said politely. It was maybe a dead world, but these were children, and most children weren't a threat. The odd few of course, but Abel and Alexis seemed completely different from each other.

Finally Alex settled down and instead sat in a huffed up state. She wasn't very happy with being kept on the ground. If she wanted to attack people she could very well attack people. She knew that Abel wouldn't let her though so she sat while he got up. He smiled down at his twin. She might not like other people, but at least he knew that she was nice when it came down to things. She would never actually kill another human just because she felt like it. She kept him safe and he kept her safe and out of trouble.
"Thanks it's nice to meet you too. Even if the reason we're meeting sucks. Like, if the infected had never existed then we would likely have never met. Hey it's a nice day out. Not many Plagued out today. We should do something fun! Yeah like play a game."
Alex looked up at her brother with one eyebrow raised. All she could think was. A game? Really? She supposed that maybe the other boy might want to play a game, but did it look like the lady would want to play a game. She wondered what game he was thinking of. Tag or something? Hide and go seek? She sighed and stood up. Then her stomach growled. Alexis's brows furrowed and she went around to her brother's back. She started going through his backpack and eventually pulled out some beef jerky. Abel didn't question her. He knew she wouldn't talk with other people present so he just let her get whatever she wanted from his backpack.

Wind blows and a sky hung dark. My hair flutters back as I sit in the windowsill, the sun simply a peek on the west horizon. I smile a I watch people walk around. And there's my parents, walking along the street. They seem wobbly, though. Did they go to the bar today? That's not like them. And everyone is wobbly, bumping into each other like they don't see 'em. What's going on here? I frown and kick a pebble off the roof that some jerk kid must have thrown up. I'm visiting my parents today, since I recently completed collage. I here the door open, so I swing my legs back over into my old room, now the guest room. Noisily, I clomp down the stairs, seeing my parents at the doorway, mom behind dad, whose hand in on the doorknob. They both stare forward at nothing, their eyes blank. They both are pale, and I frown. "Bad day at work?" I ask, cautiously. Their heads snap up. They gaze at me but.. not at me. Dad makes a groaning, moaning sound, and lunges for me, teeth bared. Mom snarls and follows close behind, fingers out and curved. I shriek and run up the stairs, nearly tripping. My parents do. Slamming the door behind me, I enter my room and lock the door. I hear pounding against the walls and entrance, and back up towards the window. I didn't close the shutters, so I climb out. And people below me are screeching, moaning, reaching for me. Their all like my parents. The roof is greatly slanted, and I bite my lip out of worry. Clutching the drainage pipe that runs past my old window, I place one foot in front of the next, walking along the roof until I reach my parent's bedroom. My mom and dad are still banging at the door, as though they didn't hear the creak of the floor as I tip-toe to no prevail to the drawer beside my dad's side of the bed. My hands grip the cold black surface of a heavy object, and I pull it out shakily. But the front end of it - the business end - bumps the drawer and the alarm clock falls, crashing. My parents whip around, scrabbling against each other to reach me. I raise the gun. They don't stop. I screech as I pull the trigger. Once. Twice. Three times for my sister that enters close behind, having barged out of her room.
"AHHHHHH!" The girl screeched as she awakes, the locket she was holding in her hand falling and crashing to the roots of the tree below. Milana almost slipped of the branch she was perched on, the nightmare of her parents startling her greatly as usual. She glanced around quickly, assured that there were no more Plagued in the area besides the bodies of the ones she had left nearby to be burned that day. after dropping down silently, Milana picked up the locket and opened it. Inside was a puny purple flower, the petals starting to curl as it drooped. The picture of her family inside also was there, and she sighed, relieved. Voices caught her attention, and Milana stood quickly, throwing the locket around her neck and pulling out the pistol that was tucked in the waistline of her pants, pressed against her back. Cautiously, she hid behind a tree, poised carefully. Peeking around the side, she saw people. People. Down-to-earth real-life people, with peachy skin (I think) and life in their movements. Milana smiled slightly, surprised that they didn't hear her. Although her nerves were calmed slightly, she kept the gun out, just in case. Figuring they most likely would think she was one of Them if she stalked them, she moved from behind the tree, tucking the gun against her back at last and holding her hands up as she approached. "Hey!" Milana said when she was close enough not to attract any of the Plagued. "I'm not one of Them. I'm clean; not touched by 'em."

Alex was facing the other way when the girl approached. Abel had noticed her, but quickly decided that she was alive and well so he let her approach them. He didn't really care. He'd talk to her when she got here. Alexis on the other hand was not too happy when she heard the voice of yet another happen. In one flurry of activity she went from munching on her beef jerky to whipping out her spear and aiming it at the girl's neck. With her hands up it was very easy to get her spear at the exact right place.
Abel laughed and draped himself over his sister. He smiled at the lady on the other end of her spear. "Once again it seems I must apologize for my sister's temper. She doesn't like people, alive or basically dead. I'm Abel, she's Alexis, and that's Marcy. Now of course my sister is mean and quite dangerous, but really she won't kill you. So you have nothing to worry about with that spear there." He chuckled, but then Alex elbowed him in the stomach and he dropped to the ground laughing and gasping for air. Alex shot a glare to the newcomer's way before going back to eating the jerky.

Milana couldn't resist a laugh. "My sister was the same way," she replied, wincing at the "was" part. Kneeling, the plucked her backpack off her shoulders and pulled out a small, refrigerated bag. Inside, when she opened it, was a small container of strawberry icecream and a plastic spoon. Holding it out in the direction of Marcy, Milana smiled. "It's partially melted, but it's just as good," She said to the girl. "I was going to save it, but you can have it."
