About Marten Martenpaw is a nine-moon-old tomcat hailing from RockClan. He was named after a marten, a swift creature that resembles a weasel. He's currently an apprentice, but has no idea who his mentor is. He's still unsure of his sexuality, but is believed to be homosexual.APPEARANCE Martenpaw is of an unknown breed, but he looks most like an american shorthair cat. He has short dark ginger fur with even darker mackerel stripes scoring his pelt. He has matching almond-shaped amber eyes, and long ivory whiskers. His nose is a dark pink, and so are his paw-pads. Martenpaw is still quite small, but he will grow up to be a lean, well-muscled cat with broad shoulders and a wide chest.PERSONALITY Martenpaw is quite the complex little fellow, and despite his young age, his character has developed greatly. First of all, Martenpaw is shy and quiet. He is reluctant to meet new people and will often be with himself. When he is approached, Martenpaw will remain quiet, as he is very socially inept. He doesn't quite know how to react to different situations regarding socializing, so he'd rather keep his mouth closed than possibly embarrassing himself by doing something wrong. But once someone breaks through his awkward, quiet barrier, one will find that Marten is actually a nice feline. Although not one to talk, he'll gladly lend an ear and just allow you to rant and vent without making a complaint. He's a patient young cat, and he'll just sit there and let you ramble on.Now, he sounds like a charming little creature, but that's only on the outside. On the inside, Martenpaw is a completely different cat altogether. Regardless of his age, Martenpaw has perfected the ability to keep his emotions to himself. His face betrays none of what he's thinking, so nobody would suspect that he's actually a sarcastic tom. As his quietness portrays a calm, shy nature, his mind is actually just mouthing you off and rolling his eyes at you. Marten is also a pessimist, meaning that he doesn't really see the brighter side of things and rather look at what's really in front of him. He has a severe temper on him, too, but he only keeps his anger to himself until he reaches his breaking point. Martenpaw also proves to be rather obstinate. He'll never admit a fault or admit anything really, unless he wants to. He stands by his opinions no matter what. BACKSTORY Martenkit was born to Sweetfur and an unknown tom. He has no other littermates that he knows of, and he grew up by himself. On his second moon, he met a younger she-kit by the name of Sorrelkit. He quickly found out that she was as shy as he was, and so, he doesn't know how to react around her. As he got older, Martenkit encountered two other kits - Lionkit and Smokekit. Lionkit, at first, got on his nerves quickly with his large ego and equally large mouth, but he set those aside and begrudgingly admits that he enjoys the tom's company. Smokekit was nicer to Martenkit and he gets along with the she-cat well. A couple of sunrises after, he stumbled upon yet another feline, going by the name of Russetkit. Martenkit is uneasy around the female, and even though he won't ever admit it out loud, she had grown on him the longer they were together. As he turned six moons old, he met a group of cats, but he didn't interact much with them.Martenpaw has gotten his apprentice ceremony alongside Lionpaw, Smokepaw, and Russetpaw. He's gotten Spiderleaf, one of the RockClan queens, as his mentor. RELATIONSHIPS LION. FRIEND. UNREQUITED LOVE.Lionfang is Martenpaw's first - and only close - friend, although he doesn't want to admit it. He finds the tom arrogant and sarcastic, but humorous and strangely comfortable to be with. Martenpaw has grown very close to him (much to his denial), and he refuses to accept the fact that he has intense romantic feelings for Lionfang. He knows he'll never feel the same way for him, so he represses his emotions and continues to act as though his affections are nonexistent. SORREL. ACQUAINTANCE. Martenpaw doesn't exactly know what to think of Sorrelkit yet, other than the fact that she seems as shy as he is. SMOKE. ACQUAINTANCE. Smokekit generally comes off as a kind, yet quick-tempered she-cat. He met her along with Lionfang, and although Marten seems to have a better relationship with her, Lionfang and her butt heads. Martenpaw doesn't really consider her a friend yet, but rather a friendly acquaintance. RUSSET. ACQUAINTANCE. She's a curious one, and Marten has come to know that Russet can't seem to stop asking questions. Martenpaw thinks of her as a little too nosy and kit-like, but secretly enjoys her company. SPIDER. MENTOR. Marten feels as though Spiderleaf is irked by his impression. He wants to please the she-cat and prove that he's not afraid of her or anything that may come his way, but it proves difficult to do that with their infrequent interactions with each other. OTTER. FUTURE LOVE. He's definitely a very shy, quiet character, and his first encounter with the tom wasn't the smoothest. Martenpaw doesn't quite know how to feel about Otterpaw aside from perhaps having the slightest attraction to him. Martenpaw secretly thinks he's cute, and he feels very drawn to protect him. |
