Sky(p)aw Training

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz hopped out of his nest and bounced over to the apprentices' den. "Skypaw! Come on out here! It's time to train!" He yowled and decided to pad into the den to make sure Skypaw was up and not actually still sleeping. Not like that's ever happened before am I right? Otterfuzz spotted Skypaw and said, "Come on let's go!"

Skypaw yawns and looks around getting startled for a second then remembering he was an apprentice now sleeping in the apprentice's den, he could still not believe it as well that it was only yesterday that the Leader of FireClan made the announcement.

Doing some stretching as he exit's the den "sound's good Otterfuzz, I am ready to go! What will I be learning today? hunting? attack moves? defense moves?"

he follows Otterfuzz to wherever they are going to, getting excited to leave camp for the first time since he was adopted by Fireclan.

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz tilted his head when he heard Skypaw ask so many questions. "Slow down there. We need to head to the territory first and learn where the borders are in case you ever need to get to a border. Sometimes emergencies will come up and you may need to get there quickly. Do you want to grab something to eat first? Or are you good and ready to start?" He probably should grab something to eat before we head out otherwise I'll have to hunt something for him.

Skypaw runs back to the fresh kill pile and grabs a mouse for himself and Otterfuzz "here I brought one back for you as well" he begins to eat it and finishes it off quick.

Filled with energy he feels ready "ok, ready to go! Time to check the borders"

He took the mouse and nearly swallowed it whole. "That should do it. Alright now, let's get to the first border. Since you seem to have a bunch of energy let's try and run to the first border. Make sure you follow me." Otterfuzz said and raced toward the IceClan border, hoping that Skypaw could keep up. Just in case he looked over his shoulder to make sure he was following him.

Skypaw quickly reacted to Otterfuzz going into a sprint and he started sprinting himself, albeit not as fast but fast, towards the first border and as they approached he took a whiff of the air "What clan is that I am smelling?"

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz felt the cool breezes rush through his fur and over his ear. "This clan you are smelling is known as IceClan. It's got a bit of a fishy smell if you know what I mean." He said. "They hunt fish. Now the leader here is Wildstar. A she cat who is older than all of the other leaders I believe." Otterfuzz thought for a moment. "Anything you want to know about IceClan?"

[Skypaw]

As skypaw gets closer to the border he notices the definite change in temperature go from the warm plains to the cooler territory of Icecla's mountain's.

When Otterfuzz asks if he has questions he blurts out the first thing that comes to mind "Do they have long fur to withstand the cold?" he realizes after he blurts it out that the question he was was probably quite mouse-brained, of course they do, otherwise they surely would freeze to death in the snowy mountain tops

Composing himself he quickly tried to come up with a better question "What about during leaf-bare when the water is frozen, how do they hunt fish then?"

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz looked at his apprentice, glad to see he was asking questions. "Some have long fur but that clan has adapted to it somewhat I believe. But maybe the short furred cats stay inside most of leaf bare. And as for hunting fish they could dig through the ice or if it's warm enough and there isn't any ice they can just fish regularly."

He gave a little smile at his response. It seemed better than any other response he had given one of his apprentices before.

[Skypaw]

Skypaw nods walking over to the border and marking the Fireclan side then looking over at Otterfuzz "Ok, what's the next border we will be heading to?"

[Otterfuzz]

"We will be heading to the TreeClan border now, Skypaw. Just follow me." He padded away to the border. "Have you heard anything about this clan lately?" Otterfuzz didn't mean to gossip it was just a bad habit.

[Skypaw]

Skypaw once more gets into a sprint following his mentor to the next boarder "Not really, why?" he wonders if there has been alot happening lately in Tree clan that his mentor is asking if he knew anything, yet the same question was not asked of Iceclan, Was there some tensions between fireclan and iceclan? he wondered.

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz inhaled before saying. "There have been two tragedies in that clan within the past few moons. Two cats have died. One a queen; not so sure what the other one was though." As he arrived at the border he scratched on a tree and looked back at Skypaw, wondering his opinion of it. TreeClan that is.

[Skypaw]

Skypaw stopped at first wondering why that is any business of a Fireclan warrior to know but curious as so what happened "What happened that they died? was it a fox, hawk or other animal in their territory?"

Skypaw focused as well on taking the scent as well and figured he might as well as some questions about this clan as well. "So is Treeclan good at ambushing warriors from above (in the trees) I take it then?"

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz shook his head. "No none of those animals. I believe they were both murdered by other cats." He somewhat cracked his neck to feel better. "Anyway..."

"TreeClan probably would be good for ambushing but since the clan has a lot of trees I suspect that they know very well on how to climb them. Yet again, I do not know if they would be checking up above them very often." He thought for a few minutes.

"Now let's mark here first before moving onto RockClan. That will be our final clan for our tour and we can head back for training."
