Volepaw hid in the shadows of the elders' den, his scent disguised by the mud he'd rolled in. A rabbit from the fresh-kill heap had been left near Leopardripple while the old cat had been napping. Everyone knew just how much she loved rabbits.
"I think she's waking up," whispered Vole to his partner in crime, who was hiding nearby.

Whitekit hid beside Volepaw, keeping closer to the tom. He had rolled in so much mud, you could not even tell that he was actually white. He gave a nod. "Get ready."

The black elder yawned as she lifted her head lazily from the nest on which she rested. She sighed and shook her head as she blinked her dull but still very bright lime green eyes. The female shook her head and then sat up dully. She narrowed her eyes and sighed "Now where the fluff did Hawkbreeze wander off to now? I swear that boy can't stay s- do I smell rabbit?!" she snarled.

The black cat fought the urge to snicker as Leopardripple woke up and scented the prey. "Leopardripple, I've come to haunt yooouuuuu," Vole meowed in his best impression of a ghost. He reached forward with a paw to prod the dead rabbit from behind, making it move slightly towards the elder.

Whitekit tried really hard not to laugh, keeping his mouth closed. He then spoke up, mimicking Volepaw's voice. "I will stay with you foreverrrrrrrrrr."

Her lime green eyes shot over to where the voice was. "W-Wow! What the?!" she jumped and rose her hackles growling "Get that demon creature out of here. NOW!" She demanded narrowing her lime green eyes as she growled. "Show yourself!"

The elder's reaction was priceless. This old bat really was crazy! Grinning broadly from where he lay in the shadows, Volepaw prodded the rabbit again to make it wiggle a bit.
"I'm right here, Leopardripple, and I'm not going anywheeereeeee," the rabbit 'said' in a ghostly fashion.

Whitekit felt tears burn his eyes as he held in his laughter. The tom had to clear his throat to be able to speak. "You can't make me leave. I shall haunt you foreverrrrrrr!"

"Just cause I'm old don't mean I'm any slower then I was when I was a young warrior!" the elder cried out and stood on all fours in her nest her claws digging into the moss. Her eyes narrowed as she crouched down "I will murder all your kind! Get out of my den!" she screeched jumping out of her nest as she growled at it, her eye twitching with insanity. "You stole Wolfpaw from me once, gave him back as Wolfshadow and then stole him again.. ill get him back!" she screeched.

Whoa, forget crazy. The black she-cat was absolutely psychotic. Did she really think rabbits could kidnap a cat? It didn't really make a lot of sense to the apprentice.
"Wolfshadow is ours forever! You'll never kill us all," Volepaw meowed spookily.
