Fallensnow finished up the scraps of her vole, glad she had made time to grab breakfast today. She had been finding it hard to wake up in the morning since she became a Queen, the kits in the nursery kept her on her toes the entire day and left her to sleep like a dormouse at night. She knew she couldn’t just sit around and babysit all day though, and she decided that a hunting trip with her former mentor would be a fun way to contribute to the clan while Rowansky watched over the nursery.
I hope he isn’t busy, the black-and-white she-cat thought, forgetting that she hadn’t even asked the warrior if he was free today. Luckily she scented him, glancing around the clearing and finding that he wasn’t far off. Putting on her usual soft smile, the she-cat trotted over to the tom, “Hey Spottedheart, ” she said, dipping her head in the custom greeting.
