Minnowkit watched the tom race off, kneading her claws into the ground impatiently as she waited for him to appear again. Why's he taking so long, she thought, looking bordly up at the sky after a few moments of Pikekit being gone. She had never been very patient.

Pikekit quickly ripped a chunk of moss from an unused nest once he had entered the nursery, padding quickly out on uneven paws, his vision clouded by the wad of moss. "I got the moss," he mewled, his voice muffled by the mossball.

"Finally," Minnowkit grumbled, rolling her eyes as Pikekit tried to talk through the mossball. "Why don't you actually throw the mossball instead of trying to talk through it," she mewled, stepping back so that the tom had room to throw the moss.

"Okay," Pikekit said, his voice still muffled by the moss. Tossing the ball into the air, the dark gray-blue tom raised a paw, striking forward as the wad descended, sending the ball of moss in a high ark toward Minnowkit.

Minnowkit tensed her muscles as she prepared to leap up and swat at the mossball. She growled in dismay as she pushed of the ground, swiping her paw through the air only to have the ball of moss fly past the tips of her paw. "You tossed that too high on purpose," she accused, but chased after the mossball all the same.

"Sorry!" Pikekit called, then waited patiently for Minnowkit to retrieve the mossball. His eyes gradually traveled up to the clouds, blue matching blue as he peered into the depths of the cloudless sky with interest. 'I never noticed that the sky was such a pretty color,' he thought, distracted from the game.

Minnowkit's eyes flashed mischievously as trotted back with the mossball clamped in her mouth, noticing that Pikekit's attention was fixed on the sky rather than her. Tossing the mossball up, she struck it forward as hard as she could, her target being Pikekit's muzzle.

||should we should wrap this up once we reach apprentice rank?|| Pikekit's light blue eyes widened as something crashed into his muzzle, making him stagger and look at Minnowkit in surprize. "Wha-?" he mewled confused, looking frantically between the mossball and his playmate.

--yeah, probably-- Minnowkit bit her lip as she caught the look of surprise on Pikekit's face, greatly amused. After a few seconds she couldn't hold back, and burst out laughing. "You should've seen your face!" she howled, dropping to the ground in laughter.

Pikekit tried to pout in dismay, but ended up joining in on Minnowkit's laughter, glad he had finally seemed to get the she-cat to open up. "I bet I did look pretty silly didn't I?" the dark blue-gray tom mewled, mindlessly pawing at the squishy mossball.

"Well, duh," Minnowkit jeered as she rolled her eyes, her laughter dying down and a smirk etching its way onto her face, "but that face you pulled did make you look just a little more silly than normal"

"Hey!" Pikekit whined, playfully glaring at the she-cat as he swatted a sheathed paw over her ear, "my face is not funny looking!"

"Well, that's debatable," Minnowkit mewled, glaring at Pikekit's paw. The silver tabby's ears twitched as she muffled a yawn, feeling a little tired.

Pikekit pouted and stuck his tongue out at the other kit, his light blue eyes blinking as he caught Minnowkit stifling a yawn. 'I guess she's tired,' he thought, feeling a little sleepy himself. He didn't really want to go back to the nursery just yet though, and tried to think up another topic. "So," the tom drawled, "what do you want you warrior name to be?" the dark blue-gray tom asked, seeing as that was the first question that came to mind.

Minnowkit blinked, I wonder where that question came from? she thought, but answered it none the less. "Maybe something like Minnowfrost? Minnowpool?" the silver tabby said. She had never really thought about it before. "We have moons to think about that though"
