girls oh girls WAG YOUR TAILS TO THE BEAT Hollypaw slinked towards the medicine den, her ears flicking back every once in awhile. She was annoyed. After all, who wouldn't be in a foul mood after spending half the night being shaken awake by a rough coughing fit or a particularly rattling sneeze. Snot crusted her nose, and occasionally dripped down her muzzle, wetting the thin fur so it became annoyingly ruffled. "Bloody coughing and sneezing and colds," Hollypaw grumbled under her breath, her jade-green eyes flicking up as she made it to the entrance of the medicine den. For a second she wondered if it would be rude to wake the either of the medicine cat's up at such an early hour, but her doubt's were forgotten as a sneeze escaped her nose. "Liongrowl?" the ebony apprentice's voice came out scratchy as she called out into the den, only a hint of her usual silky elegance present. Taking a step forward, she racked her brain for the name of the other medicine cat, "...Grayshade?" her voice cracked a bit.

(why tank woo yu r bootiful as well)
"Of course," Grayshade called over her shoulder, her nose buried in coltsfoot. "Call Liongrowl's name first." Straightening up, she sneezed violently, jerking her head away as so to avoid disturbing the herbs. The last time she'd done that, they'd all been sent sprawling and she and Liongrowl had spent ages getting them back. Neither trusted an apprentice to help should they mess anything up.
She turned to face the scratchy voiced called. An apprentice--always apprentices, wasn't it, didn't anyone else get ill? This one was black as night, with a mature air about her, and didn't seem one to possess the voice with which she spoke. Clearly a sort of cold.
"What's up?" she asked, flicking through cold remedies in her head. "What's your name?"

girls oh girls WAG YOUR TAILS TO THE BEAT <3 "Hollypaw," the she-cat answered with a respectful dip of the head, her usual habits seeping through even in her slightly hazed state. "It's seems I managed to catch a- a-," her breath caught in her throat as a sneeze threatened. A few seconds were spent expectantly waiting for the pesky action, yet it never seemed to come. Stupid nose, Hollypaw thought in agitation at her own appendage before continuing from where she had left off, "a cold... Funny, I thought it actually had to be, you know, cold outside for you to get one," she mumbled the last part sarcastically, humor lacing her tone before she was his with a coughing fit. Her claws reflexively dug into the ground to stable herself as the rough action shook her slender frame.

Grayshade's nose twitched in amusement as Hollypaw's explanation was cut off, predictably, by the buildup of a massive sneeze that refused to actually come. "A cold," she mewed, finishing her explanation with her.
"No, they can come whenever. They're obnoxious." She nosed through the chamomile. Picking some out to lay with coltsfoot and tansy. "Is there anything else--is your stomach or head hurting because of it, is there anything that seems abnormal--or just a bad cold?" As she waited for an answer, she sorted a bit of tansy out, and pushed some coltsfoot over. "Eat that. It should sooth your breathing a bit and help your throat--if I had some honey right now--oh well."

girls oh girls WAG YOUR TAILS TO THE BEAT Hollypaw watched the medicine cat pick through her herbs with interest. She had always enjoyed the peculiar scents that wafted from the medicine den, and felt slightly disappointed that her clogged nose couldn't pick them up. "I've had an off-and-on headache the past few days," the ebony she-cat recalled, "it's happened a little less since I started coughing and sneezing, but it's still pretty annoying. Seems to come whenever I have the chance to lie down," once she had finished speaking the young apprentice leaned down an took a delicate bite out of the plant, her nose scrunching up a bit at the taste. "What's this called?" Hollypaw asked curiously after giving a light grunt of distaste, she continued to munch on the coltsfoot she had been given at her own pace while she awaited an answer.

"Hmm." Grayshade shifted her jaw, then muttered to herself, "Feverfew. Definitely." She picked some of the small white flower out of it's area.
"Ah--coltsfoot," Grayshade mewed, returning to the other herbs. She pushed the bit of chamomile over to her. "Normally I like it when what I'm eating hasn't been in another cats mouth first, so chew the leaves into a pulp yourself, then eat them. Just the leaves."
She pointed at the tansy. "This one's tansy. You eat it plain, but just a bit at a time, otherwise it'll overwhelm you. And here--" she slid her some feverfew, "this is for your headache."
She scowled at the collection of herbs. "I hate colds. Have to use up a ton of different herbs because none of them cover all our bases. Waste."
