| Brokenpaw trotted into camp, a fluffy squirrel and dull-colored lizard hanging limply from his jaws. He had gotten up early this morning so he could practice his hunting abilities before it was time to train with his mentor, Brackenstripe. His last attempt at hunting something don't hadn't gone quite as planned. Apparently just running fast and being intimidating wasn't enough to catch a prey-- you actually had to be quiet, which wasn't exactly the tabby's strong point.
He was quite proud with his catch today, though, and felt his ears prick with pride as he tossed the plump squirrel onto the fresh-kill pile and took the lizard for himself. He hated squirrels. All the fuzz got stuck in your teeth and their beady little eyes seemed to gaze into your soul. Ew.
Lizards on the other hand were cute and delicious.
"Come on little dude," the brown tabby muttered as he flung the lizard over to a random open spot in the camp clearing, "time to get eaten." Brokenpaw trotted quickly over to his prey-- or, well, at least that's what he had tried to do. The tabby ended up being so focused on his food that he didn't notice the stone that had been left unguarded amongst the leaf-dappled ground; so when his paw came into contact with the hard material Brokenpaw ended up doubling over in over-dramatized pain, a small squeak escaping him. "The pain! Oh dear CloudClan, has thou come to greet the young Brokenpaw so soon!" he mewled to the sky dramatically, barley even able to feel the pain in his paw. He turned his head to the side for dramatic effect only to come face-to-paw with a set of small, well, paws.
