It had been so long since he had actually been in the process of training an apprentice, although it was not at all a bad thing that he had been assigned to one. The whole thing had just been more or less out of the blue. But then again there was probably two times as many apprentices as their was warriors. The younger cats outweighed the older ones by a great amount.
Pulling his large tom-cat body from his nest he made his way out into the dim light of day, the sun only beginning to peak over the trees that marked the forest unique as Treeclan. This had been the place Brackenstripe had called home for as long as he could remember. Anything before the clan was long gone from his memory.
But today wasn't about his past or even his future, but rather the future of another cat. A much younger tom by the name of Brokenpaw. It was Brackenstripe's responsibility to make this tom as respectable and loyal as he himself was.
So with that thought fresh in his mind he stuck his light brown striped head into the apprentice den and mewed inside, "Brokenpaw. No more sleeping. It's training time." | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

| Brokenpaw nuzzled deeper into his nest, his mouth stretching in a wide yawn. The brown tabby had a hard time sleeping the night before-- the new den was strange. It was filled with strange scents and strange older cats. He was used to curling up against his mother's warm, black-and-white pelt at night. Now the only scent of her he could find was the lingering scent that remained on him and his two older half-siblings that had been apprenticed before him. Maybe Harmonypaw will let Brokenpaw make my nest to his, the tom thought, lifting his head groggily up to look around for the older tom. It had been quite some time since they had met in the nursery, but they were still brothers, right? Well, half-brothers, but it was basically the same concept. Brokenpaw's searching was cut short when he heard someone calling for him near the den's entrance. Looking, he spotted the head of his mentor. Wait... Training! the young tabby jumping to his paws. How had he forgotten?! Quickly the tom scurried out of the nursery, his earlier sleepiness forgotten. "What are they going to to today?" the tabby mewled once he was away from the sleeping apprentices, talking in 3rd person as he usually does. | |

As he waited for the smaller cat to appear from the den he padded over to the fresh kill pile, picking out a mouse which looked like it would never be enough for him, due to his large size. But basically he was a large cat with a small stomach. And this was a good thing, especially during the colder months when prey was scarce.
Upon the apprentice's arrival he flicked his tail towards the pile, motioning to show he should too get something to eat. "Fill up, we have a lot to do today."
Brackenstripe planned on showing him the entire territory, but he always liked to get a little hunting in. Just because whatever he took from the pile, he always liked to return, and then some. "Territory, then we will hunt." | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

| "'Kay," Brokenpaw replied, his muzzle already shoved in the fresh-kill pile. Lizard?! the tom sniffed and shoved his face deeper into the prey until his vision was completely obstructed, no Lizard. The tabby pulled away from the pile with a huff, glaring at the meat. Sighing, Brokenpaw hesitantly selected a small, young mole from the pile and took a seat next to his mentor. Even though it wasn't scaly the mole still made the tom's mouth water, and his quickly tore into the flesh with ravenous bites.
"The territory?!" the tabby looked up with bright amber eyes, not bothering to finish swallowing before he had started to speak so some of the food dribbled out of his mouth. "Will we get to see the old camp?" he questioned, leaning forward a bit in anticipation of Brackenstripe's answer. He was eager to get a glimpse of what there new home would look like. Not that Brokenpaw really wanted to leave behind the camp he had grown up in, but if he was going to he might as well scope out what his new home would look like.

Brackenstripe shoved his mussel into the mouse, devouring it in a couple quick bites before his ears perked and his attention turned towards the apprentice den again. "Sure we can check out the old camp," He mewed, still not facing the apprentice just yet. "I forgot one thing." Getting to his paws he strode over to the side of camp and threw out what remained of his meal before he trotted back over to the apprentice den. Sticking his large tabby head into the entrance he mewed, "Sunsetpaw you too." Before he turned back to his original apprentice. "We will also be having another join us today." He added, sitting down next to the younger tom as he began cleaning the blood that had been smeared on his face. The two waited there for the other apprentice. Sunsetpaw grumbled out something inaudible - and also, not something very nice - before groaning and giving up the idea of simply ignoring her new mentor. What good would that do, anyway? The longer she waited and complained about everything, the farther away her warrior ceremony was. And then she could finally get all the apprenticeship chores out of her fur and be a real TreeClanner. Rising to her paws, she gave her ruffled fur a sharp glare in disgust and proceeded to slightly flatten down the mess, though gave up in the end once the task proved too boring, and joined the voices outside in the clearing with her eyes drooping and tail limp.
Another apprentice? The golden tabby blinked, glancing from an unfamiliar pelt beside Brackenstripe. Who was he? Sunsetpaw sighed and gave her amber eyes a light roll. Great. Not only am I training, but it's with another tomcat. she muttered in her morning-grumpy mood.
"Brackenstripe?" she meowed, going to join the two and yet keeping her eyes firmly on her mentor. Did he just finish eating? No, of course not. He just likes smearing blood across his face for the heck of it. "Sorry for sleeping in. What are we doing today?" Even though she was positive Brackenstripe had already explained to this other apprentice the day's activities, Sunnyset in her half-asleep mind hadn't heard anything but mumbles and singing birds from her comfy, warm and extremely desirable nest in the apprentice's den.
