Rift had decided to revisit the place she had called home for awhile. Not that she actually liked the canyon that much. But she wasn't busy today, and it wasn't a scorching hot day like it normally was. There was a gentle breeze coming from the south, and the river was rushing along. Feeling lazy, Rift decided to lay down and enjoy a day that she could have peace. The canyon was well known for the fact that not many cats stayed there. And that is what she wanted, a day away from DeathClan and all its glory.

It was beating, beating, beating and she was terribly in love with it. She was a tiny kitten of three hundred grams and as she sat there cradling herself her only source of comfort came from the soft thudding of her frail heart. She did not like the sound of the wind or the taste of the air. But all around her, she could hear the leaves dropping like rain. Strelka liked the leaves, she pictured them in her mind. She pictured them dropping from the branches, and saw little ghost leaves fall out as they hit the ground. It was still beating and she fell terribly in love with the way her loneliness fell softly and suddenly, asleep, in her chest.

Rift was about to fall asleep when she noticed a small kit near her. That was weird was weird. Kits didn't tend to go near the canyon, much live in it. Rift decided to investigate this interesting visitor. When she came closer, she noticed that the kit was frail. It wouldn't survive long without help. "Hello?" Rift meowed, checking to see if the kit was asleep.

Tearful eyes opened and she looked up at the unfamiliar ego. Her vision was wet and blurry but the strange cat's eyes were accentuated and they were big and blue and beautiful. Drawn to the second warm presence she snuggled closer and mewled, "Sister!!"

Well, that was good. The kit was alive, and she could talk, but, for some reason she thought Rift was her sister. Weird. Well, it was possible she was her sister, as Rift's mother did have a habit of abandoning her kits. "Where's your mother, kit?" Rift meowed. If this kit didn't have a mother, she wouldn't be sure what to do with her. Take her back to DeathClan? No, she didn't think that would work.
(Do you actually want your character to be Rift's sister? Or no?)

Umm yes, adopted sister, if you like that? :)
Her muffled heart signature lulling her thoughts, she cuddled gently into the warm cat's fur. The blueness of the cats eyes was elegantly tranquilizing and Strelka blinked wearily. A question greeted her fluffy ears and she sniffled softly, "away." For her downy fur was caked in the milky smell of a nursing animal but, there was no queen in the area. She was, in every sense of that word, vulnerable.

(She would have to join DeathClan, as Rift is in DeathClan)
The small kit still smelled like her mother, and Rift guessed that she was still drinking milk. If her mother had abandoned her, then she would have no chance on her own.Remembering her own abandonment, Rift knew she could not let that happen. "Stay right here," she meowed to the kit, "I'm going to get you something to eat."

Am planning on joining deathclan, I'm just gonna wait till I get the apprentice stars first ^_^ so not long hopefully, maybe I can get them in this thread if we keep posting
Strelka sneezed leniently and directed her tender hazel gaze to the silver she cat. "okay" she meowed trustfully, quivering softly against the mid-autumn draught. "but promise you'll come back?"

Rift was certain that as soon as the kit said "promise you'll come back" that she had been abandoned. Replying gently, she meowed, "Of course I will. What is your name, young one?" Rift was beginning to like this kit. She couldn't help but think about her past looking at her, but maybe that was good.
(that sounds good with me)

Being reassured she felt a warmth intersperse through her small body. "Strelka" she replied happily. The silver cat was much older than her, but not quite an adult. She couldn't help but wonder what her story was. But for now she was too weak, and tired to really care. But she did ask, "where is home?" Since her abandonment, that question had become more difficult than she liked.
yay :D

Rift liked the kit's name. "I don't know where your home is l. My home is far away though." Rift meowed. She walked over towards the river looking for some fish. Strelka was little, but Rift wanted to teach her how to fish. "Come over here, Strelka. I want to teach you something."

She watched curiously as Rift padded to the river. Strelka liked the look of the water but, it sure made a lot of noise. "ok!" she followed Rift to the riverbank, and skimmed the surface with her small white paw. It felt icy on her pad.

Rift watched carefully as Strelka skimmed the water with her paw. Rift didn't want her to fall in, after all. "Ok, you see those big black shapes in the water? They're fish. I am going to teach you how to catch them." Rift meowed. She extended her paw above that water, but not too far out that a shadow was cast, and continued, "You have to be patient to catch a fish. When one comes by, it takes exact timing and preciseness to get it. Then you scoop it out of the watrt, and you have a meal. Watch me." Rift silently waited until a fish came by. Seeing a rather large and slow one, she swiped down at it, precisely bringing it out of the water and killing it. "Now you try." Rift meowed, "Go for a small one otherwise you might be dragged into the water."
