ADDERVENOM OF ICECLAN Faint rays of sunlight flickered across the floor of the medicine cat den in a vain attempt to warm the frozen ground. It had gotten cold in the mountains lately. This was Addervenom's first leafbare in IceClan, and he was less than thrilled… especially seeing how leafbare meant illness, and illness meant more work for the medicine cats.
The pale tabby tom let out an irritated huff as he stared at the den entrance. He had things to do, but it was too cold to head out in search of herbs - harvesting medicine in this weather would likely kill the plant. So instead he was stuck inside with his… lovely… coworker. Great.
A light snore from the back of the den told him that Flamingthorn was probably still napping. Adder stepped out into the clearing, snatched a fish off the fresh-kill pile, and returned to the den. He then promptly attempted to drop the fish on the other healer's face.

Just one more step and I can get that rabbit. One more step. Wait what is that- UGH Flamingthorn started awake. The ginger Tom thrashed his head. Aye?! Come on Addervenom I was having the best dream. He sat up and shook out any imperfections in his fur. Yes, the Tom was a huge fan of sleep. It was a nice.. cold day. He sighed, blinking on account of the sunlight. He could tell for a fact it had snowed last night and he was not amused. He hated the cold so much. At least his coworker here to keep him company.

ADDERVENOM OF ICECLAN "What, no 'thank you'? That's the last time I fetch breakfast in bed," the younger tom stated flatly as he padded away.
He made his way over to the herb storage and gave it a disapproving look. Even with the way Adder had been trying to stock up, they were still low on several types of medicine, and the entire area was a mess besides. "We may as well do something productive. Help me take inventory over here," he told Flamingthorn. WORDS: 081 || WRITTEN FOR: Flamingthorn NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

"You may think that herb stock is a bit low and very disorganized, but it has come a long way. I'll help out." He padded over to Addervenom. Various piles of herbs were beginning to fall over, mostly due to his initial lack of organizational skills however it was better than it was when Brightflame was in charge. He hoped his new partner in crime would be able to help him make up for his initial weaknesses and that they could build off each other to become a great dual threat to the Medicine Cat world. Overall, this initial task at hand is important- inventory. Only then can they begin to succeed.

ADDERVENOM OF ICECLAN Addervenom narrowed his eyes slightly. "If this is something to be proud of, I don't even want to know what you were doing with Brightflame," he meowed with distaste. What was with this Clan and its history of lazy medicine cats? He didn't understand it at all.
Sighing, he pushed a heap of herbs towards the other medicine cat and started pawing dust piles out of the depths of the storage area. "Sort out that ragweed. I think some of it's getting moldy," he directed, obviously not caring about the fact that Flamingthorn was more experienced and should technically be in charge. "Well thankfully we are both here instead of him." He knew the den was a mess and they had to fix it. Well that would be their first task obviously. He still struggled to understand why his former mentor was so lazy. He was better than this!
He padded over to the mass of herbs and began to separate the ragweed. "Oh also be careful with the cobwebs I think they are mingling with the poppy seeds." He wanted to minimize the number of herbs they had to get later in the interest of time.

ADDERVENOM OF ICECLAN "Honestly, how has IceClan survived this long," muttered the younger feline under his breath whilst pawing through a heap of wintergreen. Everybody in charge here was just so inept and he didn't understand it. For Darkpool's sake, they'd only just gotten a new leader despite not having seen the original one for seasons! And it looked like every medicine cat prior to him had taken their job as a joke! Completely and utterly useless, the lot of them.
"I don't know about you, but I'm not picking poppy seeds out of cobwebs. They're too tiny. We can get rid of web we have and go out to find fresh ones… assuming the frost hasn't killed every spider in the mountains. There's enough seeds left on the poppy head, right?" He did consider Addervenom's proposal. The younger Tom had a fair point. There's enough nooks and crannies were we can find spiders, it's a matter of hoping none of the recent snowfalls haven't buried them all. As for the seeds you are correct and we have plenty to spare. He had become fairly obsessed with saving as many Herbs as possibly because when it was him and Brightflame, he could not venture out to get Herbs much on account of Brightflame never being around so he had to stay nearby incase they had any company. Honestly, he wished that himself and Addevenom had more of it or at least more of a social life- the quiet the Den often had to it was not always to their benefit.

ADDERVENOM OF ICECLAN A slightly impatient growl rumbled in the back of Addervenom's throat. "This stupid weather… I don't want to spend ages digging through snowdrifts in the hopes of finding a pawful of spider silk," he half-muttered. The pale tabby sniffed at a stray piece of burdock root, then seemed to decide it was still good and set it aside.
"Think I could convince some apprentices to find cobwebs for me? I mean, most of them seem to enjoy running amok in the territory, we may as well put that to use." WORDS: 090 || WRITTEN FOR: Flamingthorn NOTES - guess who's back template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Tilting his head, deep in thought, he mused "I trust that the Apprentices would know what a spider web looks like. I just hope in their shenanigans that they do not damage them. At this point any herb or ingredient is precious cargo. He was glad Addervenom was the more rational and practical of the two of them. He was essentially the cat version of Luna Lovegood, whatever that was.
Besides, the Apprentices needed the exercise and the Medicine Cats needed their rest. It was going to be a particularly long leaf-bare.
