Hornetstripe Leopardpaw yawned as she woke up She groomed her pelt It was still dark but Leopardpaw did not mind Her amber gaze fixed on another she-cat It was Hornetpaw one of the other apprentices who just got their ceremonies "Hello I'm Leopardpaw"

Hornetpaw sat in her nest, licking her paw vigorously and drawing it over her ears in a rhythmic motion. She wasn't particularly occupied with anything that particular day, having had a rather bustling last week with her ceremony, plus meeting a dozen or so new cats, both experiences quite overwhelming to the socially-awkward she-cat. So, deciding to give herself a break from it all, she'd secluded herself in the Apprentices' den and taken to grooming. However, as of lately her plans never seemed to go te way she had intended, and soon enough the she-cat heard a voice from across the den. Hornetpaw glanced up, mildly annoyed by the interruption, and spotted the source of the voice. A cat she recognised as Leopardpaw from her recent ceremony had her gaze fixated on her, and she sudenly felt uncomfortable. How long had she been staring? Clearing her throat in ebarassment, she lowered her paw and called back, "Uhm, hello, Leopardpaw. Is there something you want?"

Hornetpaw blinked in confusion, studying the she-cat curiously. Of course you want something, don't be silly. She noticed that the Apprentice seemed just as nervous as her, and let out a small sigh. Well, prepare for a rather non-eventful and forced conversation... Giving Leopardpaw a small nod, her gaze flickered over to her for a moment, before she said quietly, "So, how are you today? Done anything worth noting since the ceremony?"
(Short, sorry)

Hornetpaw nodded, feeling a tad sympathetic for the she-cat. She herself was lucky to have started training the very next day after becoming an Apprentice, and she couldn't imagine having not encountered her Mentor outside the ceremony. "Well, I hope they turn up soon and you can begin training," she said, giving her a small smile. She refrained from speaking of her own training, not wanting to upset the Apprentice, and instead waited for her to say something.

Hornetpaw nodded, feeling slightly rude for not introducing herself earlier. She paused before she answered, thinking carefully about how to simplify her answer as to not offend Leopardpaw, quickly glancing her over to check her mood and body language. Luckily, she seemed relaxed enough, and she answered, "Yes, I am. He's a good Mentor to say the least, he's taught me a lot so far. I'm glad to have him as my Mentor."
(Short oops)

Hornetpaw sighed and shuffled her paws, her eyes flickering this way and that. Leopardpaw didn't say much, and she was having a hard time thinking of a new subject. See, this is why it's important to find a similar interest early on, you dummy! she scolded herself, narrowing her eyes slightly and glancing back up at the she-cat. "I-uhm...well," she struggled for words, trying to think of a topic while her face grew hot with embarrassment. "So, how are you finding the leaf-bare? Fond of the snow?"

Hornetpaw's smile softened when Leopardpaw answered, glad that there was another Apprentice that didn't despise the current weather. Although, she knew that her love of the cold, wintery paradise was much stronger. "That's understandable, we're all growing up at the moment, but resisting the urges to jump into things you shouldn't is quite tough." She chuckled, knowing in the back of her mind that she hardly played any games as a kit, aside from the occasional tree climb or moth capture. She grinned the Apprentice asked her on her opinion, and she responded rather gleefully. "Of course! As you can see," she said, gesturing to her pelt with her tail. "I have a much bushier coat than most cats, so leaf-bare really is my season. I'm almost an IceClaner, aside from the not-so muscly legs. Although, my pads do tend to get rather cold in the snow." She glanced outside, raking her eyes over the sheet of white covering the camp. "The snow does make everything look pretty, actually. And snowflakes are so...pretty. I suppose that's also why I'm so fond of it."

"Yeah, I understand," Hornetpaw mewed, her gaze drifting over Leopardpaw lazily. She wasn't too sure how she would be able to handle being a Warrior, as snow was just about her favourite things in the entire forest. Staying up late to watch the midnight snowfall may also hinder her abilities to do her duties later on, and she silently hoped that her Apprenticeship could last until she got over her obsession. "Well, speaking of that, are you looking forward to your duties as a Warrior later on?"
