When you have no one you are no one A joint training session? That sounded complicated, and that was exactly the thought that kept circling her mind as Hornetstripe planned out how exactly she'd handle training two Apprentices at once the day prior. She'd previously had multiple Apprenticed at one time that seemed to come and go as they pleased, but never had she been appointed as a Mentor twice in one ceremony. Was it giving her at least some forms of anxiety at the thought of simultaneously paying the right amount of care and attention to both cats equally? You bet, but as far as she was concerned, she had no say in the matter. It was her duty as a Warrior of TreeClan, after all. She had to serve the Clan as best she could, even if it meant a few extra bursts of stress. Having given both of them instructions to be up by dawn, she had confidence that they would at least make an attempt to follow her request, and didn't bother with retrieving them from their den. Instead, she exited the Warriors den, eyes squinted at the already much-too strong sunlight, and padded over to the fresh-kill pile to get something to eat. Choosing a small shrew, she took the prey and settled down beside the camp entrance, staying vigilant for any signs of the waking Apprentices as she ate. Since Hornetstripe had instructed him to be up by dawn, Forestpaw had made sure to sleep in. He didn't see the point of being up at that exact time. It was just stupid. Head rested on his paws, he looked around the den for Sorrelpaw, wondering if she would follow through. 'I'm not gonna let my mentor tell me what to do! She's supposed to teach me, not boss me around!'
Forestpaw closed his eyes again. He wasn't going to let Hornetstripe get her way. 'I'll come out on my own time!' The white tabby thought, laying as still as a stone. Maybe he could fall asleep again.
After twenty minutes of staying still, it didn't look like that was going to happen. Grumbling, Forestpaw sat up and began grooming himself. He made sure to use long, slow licks. This took awhile. Once his fur was perfect, he hesitantly got up and walked out of the apprentices' den. It wasn't long before he spotted his mother. He took a deep breath. 'Here we go.'
He gave the tabby an emotionless expression as he padded up. He took a seat across from her and yawned. "Are we leaving yet?" He questioned with a stare, gaze trailing down to the shrew. 'If she tells me to eat, I'll sprint out the exit. I don't want to be here a second longer than I have to.'

Betrayal is a very common thing... even from the best of friends Sorrelpaw woke up much to early, but then again, she usually did. Rather than waiting in her den, however, she instead made her way out into the camp and sat near the entrance, waiting for Honeystipe. Hornetstripe came out around dawn and picked out a shrew to eat, staying seemingly vigilant as she waited for Sorrelpaw and Forestpaw. Sorrelpaw simply sat and watched as her mentor waited. It was almost a full twenty minutes before Forestpaw arrived. Had he been purposely late? Or had he accidentally slept in? Either way, he was late. Sorrelpaw heard him ask if they were leaving yet and knew the two most likely responses. Eat, or Wait for Sorrelpaw. Even knowing this, Sorrelaw shrugged, waiting for one of them to see her sitting in plain sight in the opposite direction of their gazes. She had already eaten a teeny tiny mouse. She believed that rather than eat one big meal you should eat multiple small ones through the day. Then you don't eat that slight hunger at the end of the day.

When you have no one you are no one [[ By the way, don't worry about making your posts as long as mine, I tend to over-write. In terms of a posting order, I'm aiming for myself, then both of you in whichever order, before I reply again. However, if you need to add something else, feel free to add in another post before I do, just know that I won't reply until both of you have posted at least once. If anything happens regarding either of your activity, I'll PM you and we can organise a separate thread. Apologies for not mentioning this earlier ]] Hornetstripe drummed her claws on the ground rhythmically, chewing absentmindedly on her food while she kept her gaze fixated on the Apprentices' den. She wasn't usually impatient, but today she knew they couldn't wait around for too long. A this rate, the trip would have to be rushed as it is, and any more delays would simply put them off course. If they took too much longer, they'd have to skip breakfast and catch something to eat afterwards. Allowing her eyes to wander while she thought about the day's plans, she peered around the camp, watching cats go about their day organising patrols and beginning their early morning duties. Her gaze fell on a cat seated a few fox-lengths away almost directly behind her, and it took her a moment before she realised that it was Sorrelpaw. Although she gave the she-cat a friendly smile, she didn't ask for her to join her, assuming that she was simply nervous about beginning training and was simply waiting for Forestpaw to join them. Speaking of him, where exactly was he? It was only then that she noticed that the camp was already heating up more than she would have liked, and she glanced up and noticed that the sun was already on a steady rise. CloudClan, how late was he? Did he simply sleep in, or perhaps forget? Her thoughts were answered a little too late for her liking, and as Hornetstripe finished off her meal in a few last annoyed bites, she noticed the tom finally sauntering out of his den, looking a little too pristine for her liking. She'd expected at least some sort of hurry, or anything to suggest he was rushing out to meet them after accidentally sleeping in, but no, he simply trudged out and made his way over to her all too casually. Her eyes narrowed slightly, but she pasted a friendly smile on her face and raised her chin slightly as he approached. His calm expression almost looked annoyed, and she silently wondered what on earth could have possibly gotten to him that morning. The comment did bring a small twinge of amusement to her, and his snarky attitude reminded her of his father. Still, he had purposefully chosen not to follow her instructions, and she had to do something about it, her son or not. "Nice to see that you're finally awake. Now, I told you to be up by dawn for a reason, and that reason is already taking a toll on me, and is undoubtedly going to cut the time we have left in half. In case you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly what you'd call a short-haired cat, so I need as little heat as possible in order to be able to function normally without it affecting me to the point of dehydration. To add to this, my coat still hasn't even begun to shed neatly enough for any form of hard labour during the day, so the only time I can properly train you is either during the early morning, or at night when you're most likely exhausted. So, unfortunately we'll have to be wrapping up early today, my apologies for that, but I simply can't teach you to the full extent of my abilities in this heat. The first part of the morning was vital for us to get around as much of a territory as possible so we could later focus on hunting as the sun picked up, but now I suppose we'll just have to stick to visiting the closer borders, before heading back. Hunting was a reward, not a privilege.
"Now, if you'd like to make up for your ignorance, there's always later tonight if you'd like to complete what we were supposed to do today, and we can finish up the territory tour at sundown. That is, if you behave for the rest of training today, and we can avoid any further mishaps. If you'd like to take that generous favour, feel free to let me know before we come back to camp, and I'll gladly wait for you by the camp entrance at the end of the day. If you're even the slightest bit late however, we'll just have to cut into tomorrow's training with the rest of what we missed out on, further pushing back the hunting and battle practice. Does that sound fair, or do you feel like carrying around some wet moss for me the entirety of the trip instead?"
She flicked her tail at him, gesturing him to follow, and calmly turned around to face the camp entrance. Tuning her head to Sorrelpaw, she called softly, "Sorrelpaw, would you mind joining us, please? While we walk, I'd like if you could tell me everything you know about the four Clans. Don't worry, this is just a simply quiz to see what I have to go over more, no need to worry."And it takes no one to know one words: 917 - tags: none - notes: see above

Betrayal is a very common thing...
even from the best of friends Sorrelpaw listened to Honeystipe's lecture and nodded slightly. It was logical to stay away from the heating sun. She really appreciated it, even if the two apprentices didn't deserve at least that small honor Sorrelpaw nodded when she was called and made her way over to Honeystripe. "S-sure. I know that there are four clans, Fireclan, Iceclan, Treeclan, and... Um... Rockclan, that's it! We live in Treeclan. A ordering to what I have been told it is a forresty terain with many small mice and squirrels running around. Iceclan is a cold place with lots of snow and Ice. They hunt in rivers and always have plentiful fish. They lived this way until recently, I believe that other cats may be joking to me on this one, when an avalanche destroyed their camp and they all evacuated to a farm. Then is Fireclan who I believe live in a plainy area. They hunt rabbits, right? Finally is Rockclan which I definantly know least about. Don't they live in a mountany area or something with many arêtes? I asked someone what an arête was after meeting Aretepaw and they said rocky ridges such to be found in rockclan. I honsetly don't know what they hunt. I am not sure on any of the leaders of deputies or medicine cats though. I ussually don't hear other talking to each other about those. That's all I know." Sorrelkit said quickly and quietly so she wouldn't have to talk as much. "Also, I am not sure about Forrestpaw, but I'd be willing to meet tonight to make up for the missed training." she added with her head slightly lowered. WORDS I don't know. iPod right now. Forestpaw narrowed his eyes, hardly paying attention to his rambling mentor. He scoffed, shaking his head. "It's not my fault you have long fur. Besides, I can't train when I'm tired, so I slept in." He twitched his tail irritably, heaving a very long huff when she continued. 'There's no way I'm training again tonight.' "Have fun with Sorrelpaw. I will not be attending." He paused, then quickly added, "And I will not be carrying any wet moss for you whatsoever." The tom shot her a glare, reluctantly following once she began padding off.
He fixed his eyes on Sorrelpaw as she came into view. He had never seen or talked with her before, so he didn't know what to expect. He had high hopes, though. Maybe the tortoiseshell would recognize how bossy Hornetstripe was being and join his side. 'We could be partners in crime.'
That thought went and died once she began speaking. 'At least she's intelligent.' He thought, nearly gagging as she continued. 'Is she actually going along with that?' He gave her a look like she was crazy, then continued by her side as they followed Hornetstripe.
Forestpaw couldn't help but sigh again. This would be a long day.

When you have no one you are no one [[ In case you were wondering, HERE is the reference I'm using for the territory. It's a little old, but I still like going by it ]] Hornetstripe let a proud smile come to her face, and she dipped her head to Sorrelpaw. "Very good! I'm pleasantly surprised, it's quite nice to see you've been paying attention and picking up on things outside training. That's definitely earned you some brownie points. In terms of the information you're not sure of, I'll completely fill you in once we reach the borders, it'll be a lot easier to visualise." In response to the tom's snarky reply, she raised a fictional eyebrow, before snorting quietly and shaking her head. "I'm wondering where all this attitude's come from, I'll have to follow up on that with your father. I really need to know what he's been teaching you."With a commanding flick of her tail, she trotted out the camp entrance, glancing back to make sure the Apprentices were keeping up. First stop was IceClan, and luckily it wasn't too far away. Flattening her ears against the sun, she moved off into a slow jog, following a path through the slowly thinning greenery as they neared the neighbouring Clan. Soon enough, the icecaps loomed in the distance, and she came to a halt as the invisible border separating the territories made itself clear. Checking both cats were still with her, she flicked an ear towards the almost completely thawed-out landscape beyond them, inviting them to look around for themselves. "This is IceClan territory, and as the name suggests it's situated on a mountain range that is almost always covered by snowfall, save for greenleaf. As you can see, there's not as much apparent snow as of now, but once that picks up, it's quite difficult to tell the territories apart, so always be wary of scent markers." Taking a quick breath, she paused just in case either of the two wanted to ask questions, before continuing. "As Sorrelpaw so kindly informed us of earlier, IceClanners have a knack for fishing, which tends to come in handy during times when prey is short for the rest of us. You were correct about the avalanche, too; I won't claim to be an expert on what happened during that time, but all I'm completely certain of is yes, their camp was destroyed -by now the snow covering it should be close to gone, although there will most definitely be a lot of re-building to do-, and they had to take up residency at a bard. I'm surprised you know all that, I really must say you have a talent for observation, Sorrelpaw." She glanced over at Forestpaw and gave him a sneaky smile, mewing a quick, "Take notes, kiddo." "Now, before we head off for RockClan, I'd like for you to make a few observations on the territory, and then each of you can answer me this question; what physical attributes do IceClanners have that cats of the other Clans may lack?"

Betrayal is a very common thing... even from the best of friends Sorrelpaw gazed out at the territory thoughtfully. "By attributes do you mean good thInge for every cat, or maybe something good for just some of the cats in the clan?" Sorrelpaw asked, an answer prepared for the some cats one, but still looking for one for every cat. Rivers were way to obvious, Hornetstripe had practically announced that outloud. Sorrelpaw sat down cautiously, mind still in thought. "I'm not sure about this, but do they have a bit of every territory other than Treeclan? Because, like, I'm not sure if they have forests, but I can see from here that they have wide open expanses, maybe covered in snow but still wide open, and rocky mountain ledges such as one would seemingly find in Rockclan. she said, still thinking about other possibilities. He twitched his whiskers as he listened to Hornetstripe praise Sorrelpaw. He was a little jealous, yet knew that this only happened because she had obeyed their mentor. He lowered his gaze once she turned to him. "This has nothing to do with him." He muttered, turning to Sorrelpaw and rolling his eyes.
He followed the other apprentice out of camp, slowing to a stop by her side once they reached the border. He hardly listened, instead focusing on the things around him. He'd never been out of camp before, and it felt like they were walking way too fast that he couldn't take anything in. He gazed around at the trees and greenery, then focused on the icy territory beyond. 'I want to go there.'
"Take notes, kiddo." This he did catch. Forestpaw mimicked her voice in a higher pitch. mocking her. He turned to Sorrelpaw once Hornetstripe asked a question. knowing that she would be better at answering than he would.

When you have no one you are no one Hornetstripe nodded along as Sorrelpaw made her predictions, taking note of her facial expression in regards to how confident she was in her claims. "That's quiet true: they have the mountainous range of RockClan -albeit nearly always covered in snow-; there are a few strips of open flat land around, not to mention the little cover outside of the rocky outcrops of the mountain; and there is quite a vast majority of trees believe it or not, mostly pine but there do tend to be some exception every now and again. Good answer, not exactly what I was looking for, but I'm very impressed with your observations and ability to draw conclusions based upon what you can observe.
"Now," she nodded towards the still snow-covered tips of the icecaps. "As I've mentioned a few times, and if the name wasn't a dead giveaway, IceClanners tend to have to put up with and adapt to life in a cold climate and almost constant snowfall. This has caused a few changes in their part in regards to physical appearance and skills, such as a thicker coat to withstand the cold, and tougher paw-pads for climbing the mountains. Now, with that in mind, on the way to the next border I'd like you to use your prior knowledge -both of you- to make a prediction on what possible differences the cats of RockClan may have in comparison to the other Clans." Taking a step backwards, she allowed them to have a final wander around the border for a minute, squinting her a=eyes against the glare of the sun against the neighbouring rocks. She didn't feel the need to acknowledge Forestpaw's imitation of her, simply shaking her head and keeping her eyes glued on the Apprentices as they did as they pleased. "Alright," she said after a moment, rolling her shoulders in an attempt to crack them. "Next stop is the RockClan border, and then I think we'll have to head back for now. As I mentioned earlier Forestpaw, the offer is still there if you want to take it, but I won't push you. It;s honestly your choice, and you could always explore the rest of the territory in your own time. However, on the way to our next stop, I'd like you to recall the information Sorrelpaw mentioned about RockClan earlier and make a prediction on how they may differ from the other Clans, both in physical ability and appearance. There are no wrong answers, don't worry. A guess is better than no attempt at all." Briefly, she sent him a genuine small smile, before flicking her tail as a signal for them to make their way along the border towards the next destination, moving a lot slower than before. Forestpaw listened to the she-cats' conversation, finding that they both talked way too much. He shifted around, boredom creeping up on him when Hornetstripe when on to talk about IceClan. He didn't know why they needed to know this stuff. It felt pointless.
The tom yawned when she paused, getting ready to leave. But then she started to speak again. Forestpaw groaned internally. "Why do I have to repeat what Sorrelpaw said earlier? You already heard it." He thumped his tail against the ground when she finished up. He was clearly agitated. "Hornetstripe. I am a new apprentice. I know nothing about RockClan. Why are you giving me questions that I can't answer?" He huffed in irritation, padding alongside Sorrelpaw as they trekked on.
