❝ Honeypaw had entered the apprentice den last night and had quickly found a nest, going straight to sleep. She didn't have a chance to meet other cats and make conversation, and besides, that wasn't her strong suit. All the kits she knew, plus her siblings, where still in the nursery. The only cat she knew now was her mentor, whom she'd met as a kit. She quite liked him. He was enjoyable.
Honeypaw looked around the area. The buzz of voices and the activities the apprentices were doing was very different than what the kits did. Most of them louged around and talked, while others went in groups to go get breakfast. She sighed. Everyone here already looked like they had their own cliques, and she would never fit in as an extra tail.
Instead, Honey sat in her nest, concealed around her own thoughts. She thought about her first apprentice lesson, and when it would be. Her siblings, all younger than her, might be apprentices soon, then she could tell them what to expect.
She looked up again. This, right here, was what they should expect. She had made friends as a kit, but she grew up before them, and now, she was friendless again.

The prospect of friends truly excited Nightpaw now, as it had during his kithood days. Despite his doubt that anyone would find his rambling head not that annoying to consider friendship, he at least had the motivation to try. As a younger child, Nightpaw had such high hopes of gaining a huge circle of friends that would care about him, and he would care about that. His mother was not in his life, nor a fatherly figure, and any siblings of his never quite were close enough to familiarize with. The bonds a cat needed were then all weighed down to friendship, and yet when that began to lack in it's benefits(he had no friends....), everything just disintegrated. He didn't try for friends as hard, and he certainly didn't feel like they are necessary to his road to warriorhood.
Except... now he had two friends. Mockingpaw and Rosepaw, cats who didn't mind him at all. It made him overjoyed he finally succeeded in obtaining at least one ally. And it made him more motivated to keep trying for more.
{ i don't like this post, forgive me... but i'm too lazy to rewrite it above.... just.... *throws hands up in defeat* }
Entering the apprentices den, Nightpaw's heterochromia gaze searched the area quickly. When finally his attention landed on a small, new apprentice sitting alone in her nest. His eyes sparkled when he recognized her-- Nightpaw had been at her ceremony, cheering for Honeypaw as she was given Thornwatcher as a mentor. Nightpaw was happy he remembered her name. Most cats in TreeClan tend to watch the ceremonies, and then turn around and completely forget what just happened....
Approaching her, Nightpaw offered a respectful dip of his head, and a kind smile. Hopefully she was friendly, though? "Hello. Uhm, you're Honeypaw, right? I saw your ceremony." He added the last sentence awkwardly, the friendly smile turning a bit uneasy in preparation for her response. "Uhm... I-I think Thornwatcher will be a good mentor to you. He seems like a good warrior."

❝ Honeypaw had been lost in her thoughts when another apprentice had walked up to her, speaking. That was different, most cats didn't even acknowledge she was there, but then yesterday had been different, too. She had become an apprentice, and that means 'get out of your routine, everything is different now.'
(( sorry. i used the word 'different' like three times there ))
She watched as he approached her, dipping his head respectfully. Now that she wasn't used to. Quickly, she dipped her head as well. She smiled when he did. She wasn't usually social, so she didn't know how to react when other cats approached her, other than to say some things or agree with them.
Then he spoke. He had remembered her name from the ceremony, and her mentor as well. Honey was impressed that someone actually cared. Her smile grew. She had also picked up on his shyness, he had the same problem that she had, except the only difference between them was that he actually tried, and she didn't.
"Hi." She started, as he continued. She was close to blurting out 'Awh you remembered,' but she felt that would scare him away. Instead, she meowed, "Yes, it's Honeypaw. And thank you, I guess, for the comment about Thorn. I could... tell him that... if you want." Was this how normal cats made a conversation? She felt like she could say the wrong thing at any moment and he would think she was weird, then he wouldn't want to be friends with her at all, if he did want to be her friend in the first place.
Honeypaw let out a small sigh and smiled again. Should she ask what his name was? She decided she would wait and she if he would say it later.
(( man usually i don't make posts that long ))

Nightpaw could feel a weight of uneasiness be lifted from his shoulders at her friendly tone, thankful she was nice. Who knows what would have happened if she turned out to be a sour one, although Nightpaw was pretty sure he would be kicking himself the rest of the night for the mistake of conversing with her. Sweet like honey. I guess she fits her name! he thought with a wider smile.
"O-oh, uh...." Nightpaw trailed off at Honeypaw's response, feeling his fur warm at the suggestion. Sure, he was okay with talking good about Thornwatcher with his apprentice. But he didn't know the tomcat personally, and he certainly wasn't brave enough to want a comment he made re-spoken later. Nightpaw was a little too shy for that. He couldn't even imagine it happening in his head without feeling a wave of anxiety. "I-I don't know about that. I'm not very close with Thornwatcher, per-say. He might find it weird."
After he paused for a moment, the spotted tomcat realized he hadn't introduced himself yet. "Ahh, sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Nightpaw, son of Whitefern." he meowed.

❝ Honeypaw could see his unease as she had suggested telling Thornwatcher. Now, she wouldn't, just so he didn't feel awkward in any way.
She smiled at him as he introduced himself. Nightpaw, how cool! She had never, in her life, said she didn't like her name, or even thought about not liking her name. She wanted to keep that positive attitude.
Honey also decided to introduce herself, although he already knew who she was. "Well, I'm Honeypaw. You already know that, but I thought I'd just put it out there, a bit formally. She let out a small giggle. She was anything but a proper, stuck-up, 'everything has to be formal' cat. She then continued. "My mom is Willowheart."
