Beetlekit watched Raccoonkit groom herself, ears flicking softly. Her pelt was a spiky mess, but she really didn't mind much. She supposed she just wasn't at that stage in her life where're she cared about the cleanliness of her fur.
Beetlekit stood to her full height, crouching down playfully, waiting for the ball to be tossed back to her. She just hoped the other feline wouldn't hit it as hard as she had when it spiked Raccoonkit in the face- she didn't want a sore nose.

Raccoonkit looked up to see Beetlekit waiting on her. Her fur was, at least, less dusty. Beetlekit was taller than Raccoonkit thought at first. The brown tabby felt better about it. She felt like the littler kit was frail, especially when they first met, but Raccoonkit was pleasantly surprised. Their interaction made her feel like she had a lot to learn from Beetlekit.
With a gleam in her amber eyes, Raccoonkit swatted the moss ball back to Beetlekit. It wasn't powerful, but it made it across the gap to Beetlekit.

Beetlekit eagerly watched the ball roll towards her, moving slightly so she had a better position to hit it back. She decided to go for a rainbow toss. When her paw made contact with the ball she flicked it upwards, sending it sailing towards Raccoonkit.
She really did like the feline. She was kind, but something about her made her different than everyone else. It was like the older sister she had always wanted. If only there ages were further apart, so one day Raccoonkit could end up mentoring her.

-ALL THE FEELS! <3 Raccoonkit would be so honored!-
Amber eyes hungrily watched the ball of moss. Unexpectedly, she followed it into the air. Raccoonkit had to back up, but just caught the ball of moss in her mouth. Triumph gleamed in her eyes as she glanced back at Beetlekit. Raccoonkit felt a surge of warmth at their friendship. She dropped the ball (LOL) and hit it over to Beetlekit with a little more power this time.
Raccoonkit liked the fact that they were close in age. Beetlekit was the sister Raccoonkit didn't have. The brown tabby was glad they met. She would be made an apprentice first, but she knew that wouldn't be the end of their friendship. It would be three moons before Beetlekit would be an apprentice with her. Raccoonkit purred at the thought of the two training together and going on patrols.

(It's sooo cute)
Beetlekit grinned as Raccoonkit caught it in her mouth, giving a small sqeak of excitement. She had never exactly enjoyed the prospect of playing until now.
Beetlekit pounced on the ball with surprisingly good aim for a kit her age, sending it flying back towards her. She bounced back, waiting for the ball to come back. It was a simple game, but it had endless fun.

[When Raccoonkit has kits, she would make Beetlekit their godmother.]
Raccoonkit was once again amazed at Beetlekit's agility. A challenge to be as quick came across the brown tabby's mind. Being of a lithe build herself, Raccoonkit felt she could keep up with Beetlekit. She raced towards the ball, but skidded too far forward. She went to hit with her tail, a great idea in her mind, even though the ball got stuck in her fur. Raccoonkit's ears flattened in frustration. She fished out the ball in a few seconds and sent it back to Beetlekit. The brown tabby tensed her muscles in anticipation for the moss ball's return.
"Have you ever thought about your warrior name?" Raccoonkit asked Beetlekit. It was something she had thought about before though this was the first time she had brought it up in front of someone. Beetlekit made Raccoonkit feel comfortable; like they could share anything.

(She would spoil them so much xD)
Beetlekit watched in amusement as the moss got stuck in Raccoonkits tail, hiding her laughter with a cough. She didn't want to come off as rude, she wasn't trying to laugh at her, she only wanted to laugh with her.
Beetlekit swatted the ball back with ease, sending it slightly to the left so Raccoonkit would have to run for it. She thought about the question for a moment, head tilted. "Not really... I guess I want something simple. What about you?" She was genuinely curious to know the answer.

[YES!]
Raccoonkit eyed Beetlekit for coughing. She suspected laughter. Refusing to comment the brown tabby instead focused on the moss ball. Beetlekit sent it out of her way. A grumble of determination was released and Raccoonkit leaped into the air; the older kit gracefully caught the moss ball. She let it go and sent it back to Beetlekit. This time taking notes from the black kit's antics. Raccoonkit sent it over the littler kit with enough power her for to run and grab it.
A nod was Raccoonkit's first reaction. "I have thought about Raccoonpounce if I am good hunter or Raccoonheart for my personality." The kit's eyes gleamed, "Raccoonclaw or Raccoonfang if I am good at fighting. My favorites are Raccoonpounce and Raccoonheart." She tried to find Beetlekit's gaze. "Something simple? Please explain."

Beetlekit admired her grace, but didn't mention it outloud. She watched the moss ball fly towards her, scrambling to catch it. She darted forward, fumbling it twice before actually managing to get a hold of it.
Sending it back towards her a little softer, Beetlekit thought about the names Raccoonkit wanted. "They all sound very pretty." She complimented her, smiling lightly. When she asked her to explain, Beetlekit responded slowly. "Well... I don't know, something like Beetletail, or maybe... Well, I don't know." She admitted with a dainty shrug.

Raccoonkit raised her paw to return the ball of Beetlekit. Her toss was lessened in force. "Thank you, Beetlekit." Raccoonkit wiggled under the compliment. Meanwhile she thought of possible names for Beetlekit. The kitten seemed too meek for a fighter name though Raccoonkit did think Beetlekit could have one. The littler kit had already shown her kindness and humor.
"Beetletail." Raccoonkit narrowed her eyes in thought. She thought it was a dull name, but she would not say that to her new friend. "Beetleheart is one I like. It fits your kind personality." Matching suffixes sounded cute to Raccoonkit. To her it would cement their friendship. "Beetleflight if you liked climbing trees. Beetlewing? Beetlesong? Beetlefur? Beetlesting?" Raccoonkit mused, "I wonder what we'll be."
[Personally, I like Beetletail.]

Beetlekit purred. "Beetlesong is a nice name." She nodded her head, mostly to herself. She definitely liked that one. "I like Beetlesting too, but I don't think that suits me." Her voice lowered shyly.
Beetlekit sent the ball back to her, though she was more interested in the conversation then the game. She was trying to think of more to say, though she didn't have much conversation skills. Instead, she simply waited for a reply.

Raccoonkit swelled with pride. She was jubilant Beetlekit liked one of her name suggestions. Amber eyes widened with surprise. "You like Beetlesting too?" She certainly didn't expect Beetlekit to like more than one of her thought up names. Raccoonkit beamed. "I think whatever Cloverstar chooses for you will fit you," the brown tabby purred. "I'm sure we'll both be surprised."
The moss ball fell in front of Raccoonkit. The older kit was now more interested in what Beetlekit thought about herself and her future. She closed the gap between them, matching Beetlekit's gaze. "Why don't you think Beetlesting will fit you?"

Beetlekit only nodded, confused why it seemed odd to Raccoonkit that she liked two of her name suggestions. She could only hope Cloverstar would pick a good name for the both of them- she would hate to be stuck with an ugly name, and one that didn't suit her to boot.
Beetlekit blinked, unsure why she hadn't immediately thrown the moss ball back. She opened her mouth to question what Raccoonkit was doing, though shut it when the older feline came closer. She looked away from her gaze, feeling rather uncomfortable. "Uh, I-I'm just n-not much of a fighter, I g-guess." Her words came out awkwardly, and she stared down at her left paw intently. Raccoonkit was certainly intense sometimes.

Raccoonkit noticed that Beetlekit was about to say something, but Raccoonkit didn't push it. When Beetlekit failed to meet her gaze Raccoonkit sat down. Her fluffy tail circling over her paws. Raccoonkit failed to notice how uneasy Beetlekit was; she did notice that the black kit was not relaxed. Sadness shone in the brown tabby's gaze for a moment. She thought she would scare Beetlekit off. To amend her sudden change in behavior, the older kit purred.
"I think you'll surprise yourself when you become apprenticed," Raccoonkit tried to sound encouraging. She almost was going to give an age speech, but decided against it. Beetlekit was not much younger than her and Raccoonkit wasn't an expert on everything. She did wonder if her personality would change as she aged alas she thought she had herself pretty well figured out.
"Do you want to continue playing or grab a bite to eat?" Raccoonkit politely asked just as a loud belly grumble sounded from her.

Beetlekit caught the sadness in Raccoonkit's eyes, and instantly she perked up. She didn't want to make her sad, and she instantly felt bad. She would just have to make up for it, she supposed. "Maybe." She didn't agree nor disagree. She found that it was usually easiest to stay on medium ground with other cats, she didn't want to get into any arguments. Though, she couldn't help but doubt her words. She couldn't imagine her personality changing.
Beetlekit was going to suggest that they keep playing, though considering Raccoonkit's growling stomach she decided it would be best to eat, even though Beetlekit herself wasn't hungry. "We can grab something to eat." She turned, heading to the prey pile. It was well stalked, so she assumed the sunhigh hunting patrol had recently returned. Beetlekit politely moved to the side, allowing the larger kit to grab her pick of the pile.
