Ryekit supposed he could find solace in that... His name was pretty similar to his old name. It was easy enough to learn to respond to it quickly. He guessed since... Things were different now, he really had to go by Ryekit now. Besides, he wasn't sure he liked who Rei was. Rei couldn't protect his family and got them killed.
Ryekit was going to learn from these clan cats and learn how to kill so he could avenge his family. He only had to wait until they deemed him old enough to be taught to fight. Of course, the process of waiting would be borderline agonizing, but he supposed he could use the time to plan. To cultivate his hatred and his resolve, to be sure he could do what was needed when the time came. For now? He'd play along with these Fireclanners, being an obedient little kitten they probably didn't suspect capable of such hatred as he harbored.
He was laid down on his side by the fresh-kill pile. He'd tasted real prey before. He enjoyed the taste, but he wasn't hungry right now. He found it was kind of easy to see which were caught by more experienced cats, and which were probably caught by incompetents. He snorted at a mouse that looked as if it'd been mauled.

Almondfire had not been around in while. Well she had been but not around the other cats in FireClan. She had felt like that she needed to stay away for a while but now she was determined to gain more allies, besides Aloepaw.
The she-cat was sitting by the fresh-kill pile, munching on a scrawny looking rabbit. Almondfire frowned, the rabbit was too small for her likings. Being the greedy, selfish cat she was, she snatched a mouse from the pile.
Almondfire noticed a kitten by the pile, who seemed to be staring at something. She followed his gaze to a mouse, one that looked similar to how Almondfire's rabbit's remains looked like. She rolled her eyes at the piece of prey, snorting and letting out a small laugh.
She turned to the kit, her eyes narrowed into slits. "You there, how come I've never seen you around before." Almondfire growled. She had not been around for a while so maybe perhaps thats why. 'No the kit has outsider scent on himself. Filthy rogues that dump their kittens here should be ashamed for ruining FireClan. Not all the cats have pure blood, not anymore.' She said quietly to herself, slightly grumbling.
(Here's your promised post. I haven't written one in a while so I hope that it's alright)

((It's fine. Don't worry))
Ryekit's attention was suddenly caught by someone growling at him. He snapped his head to the side to see an older tabby growling at him. He folded his ears back, and stared back fiercely. "I'm new." He replied curtly.
Who was this she-cat, anyways? She was clearly an adult, likely a warrior of this clan. Though... He supposed if he was to win favor and receive proper training, he shouldn't go around making enemies within the clan. So, he simply stared forward and slightly inclined his head. "Sorry. That was rude of me." He said bluntly, though he didn't sound that sorry at all.
He wasn't really the type to go around apologize or trying to be buddy buddy with someone he didn't like. Honestly, he didn't like much of anyone. He didn't like their stupid rules that claimed that he had to wait to learn how to fight. How to hunt. Tch. They should at least allow him to prep and prepare himself for the training, if anything.

A new cat huh? A perfect ally possibility.
A slight smirk spread across her face when the kit folded his ears."I'm Almondfire and you are?" Acting as if she was a nice feline was hard for the spotted tabby, considering all the terrible things she had done. She blinked at his apology, he didn't do anything that had offended the young warrior.
"How about a tour around camp, after I could teach you some basic fighting moves just so you can defend yourself?" Almondfire had never made the offer to anyone before. The only reason was that she wished to earn the kitten's trust and how would she do it otherwise?

Ryekit didn't like that smile. It reminded him of the smile on that fox-heart Victor's face. His face morphed into a scowl once more. "Ryekit." He said, barely keeping tone from stepping out of polite boundaries. It was difficult to maintain the guise of courtesy with anyone.
Though, the idea of early battle training intrigued him. He wanted it. He wanted it really badly but he didn't want to make it too obvious. "Not like I've got anything better to do." He said casually, however he was unable to suppress the glimmer of interest that had flashed in his eyes.

Almondfire looked pleased that he was interested. Most kits were but hardly any got to learn some moves before they turned six moons old. "Alright then Ryekit, first time learning moves?"
When the spotted tabby had been a kit herself, she had tried to make up fighting moves herself. Back then she used them on Willowspirit and Brightwing or any other kits she didn't really like. Almondfire had never knew why she had hurt so many, it was like there was no purpose for ruling her littermate's lives.
"First off crouch down low and unsheathe your claws. I don't like teaching how to fight like a kittypet who doesn't know how to use their claws."

Ryekit nodded briskly. He wasn't interested in trying to be friendly. This Almondfire gave him the creeps. He didn't like her. Still... She was going to be useful so Ryekit would try to be a little less mouthy.
He didn't really tend to try being polite either, but he'd do his best to curb the urge to sass back this time. Only this time, up until he was truly given training and learned how to kill.
Ryekit moved his paws, bending down slightly and looked like he was ready to take off running. Though, it couldn't really be called a crouch. It merely looked like a running-ready stance bent down a little. Not really for pouncing or anything fo the like. His claws slid out, though they were still small kitten claws: Incapable of truly harming anyone.

She nodded in approvel as the kitten unsheathed his claws. Almondfire's tail twitched, her eyes narrowing into slits. "Good." She snickered slightly, the smirk still on her face. The spotted tabby then spoke once more. "One thing that I need to say."
Her tail lashed. "If you are ever in a fight where your opponent is larger then you are, do not immediately leap at them. You must outwit the piece of foxdung, got it."
(I apologize for the very late reply)

((It's fine, sometimes ppl get busy :3
Ryekit found he was surprisingly pleased by Almondfire's approval. Not that it really meant anything... But he guessed it was nice to know that someone wasn't of the opinion that kits were going to stay that way forever. Clan cats spent too much time coddling their young in his opinion. Six moons?! It was ridiculous.
Then he looked up at Almondfire. He narrowed his eyes and remembered Swanfrost. ".... I understand." He replied, knowing all too well the lesson after his failure of a 'fight' with the older warrior.

"Good." The warrior hissed softly, her eyes glinting. "Today one of the moves I will teach you will be the belly rake. It's a move that causes a lot of damage to your opponent if you do it correctly. I assume that you haven't heard of it before."
(Late, sorry)

Images rushed to the forefront of Ryekit's mind. Horrific bloody images that usually left him alone long enough, to only plague his dreams rather than his waking moments. He pursed his lips. "... No. I haven't heard of it." 'But I'm pretty sure I've seen it.' He thought bitterly, not sharing that little tidbit with this stranger, even if it was a helpful stranger.
