Oh, Stoney ..

[Dogtail]

Dogpaw sat in her nest with an untouched vole at her paws. She had zoned out, remembering that day she met her best friend; the day she had that moss wig on and how they broke out into laughs. Those were the good old days. Too bad they were destroyed, not to mention nearly forgotten ..

[Runningfeet]

Stonepaw padded into the den as his normal happy self when he saw his best friend, Dogpaw, with a sad face. "Hey whatz up Princess why the sad face are you feeling ok." Stonepaw placed his paw on her forhead to see if she had a temp.

[Dogtail]

Her head snapped up in alarm, just to see Stonepaw. “What? No. I'm just .. Thinking.” She said, looking up at his paw that rested on her forehead.

[Runningfeet]

Stonepaw sat down next to her, "Well are you thinking happy thoughts beacuse they look like really bad thorught, well thats what your face was saying." The tom tried everything in his power to make Dogpaw smile everytime and most of the time it worked.

[Dogtail]

She sighed sadly, looking up at him. Dogpaw was scared. Scared of his reaction. But she mustered the courage to say what had been on her mind for quite a long time. “I am sad, actually .. I'm afraid that truce I made with Cloudwing will be destroyed .. Because .. b-because .. She'll eventually find out that ... I l-like you.” The apprentice stepped away from her friend, not quite sure how he would take this. Dogpaw was afraid that she'd be laughed at, like her affection was a joke to him. She looked at him softly. “I know .. It's stupid. I never thought that I'd like anyone. But .. I guess all the time I spent with you .. Look, it's okay if you don't like me ... I just want to know if you do or don't like me, I want us to still be friends.” She said.

[Runningfeet]

"You mean you like me as a future mate," Stonepaw asked making sure her understood her right.

[Dogtail]

She looked up with her confused blue eyes, “I don't know .. It's just a crush ... You might like someone else like Cloudpaw or Leafpaw. I wanted us to be together forever. As mates or just best friends. I guess I don't really care if we are mates, I just want to be with you. I know, I sound cheesy. But, it's true.” Dogpaw meowed softly, afraid to lean beside him, worried that doing that wouldn't have the same meaning as it did before. But it wasn't different, was it?

"I know I really like you as a friend Dogpaw, but I guess I never thought of you are a mate. Maybe that is because we are such close friends, but I really don't know," Stonepaw said tring to clear things up.

[Dogtail]

She just smiled happily, tilting her head. “Oh, okay Stoney. It was only a tiny crush anyhow.” Dogpaw giggled, “I guess it really was nothing. Sorry about making you feel awkward, Stoney. But we're still best friends, right? Because I don't think this moment should ruin us, right? I guess I don't like you, because I realized that Cloudwing really likes you, and I'm quite sure you'd be happy with her, right? And I'm talking to much, aren't I?” She mewed guiltily, looking up at the tall silver tom with a bright smile.

"i don't like Cloudwing that well and I am not really searching for love at the time I want to hangout with my friends and learn to become a warrior maybe later in my life I will think about that," The silver tabby tom said giving his brown tabby friend a lick on the head. Stonepaw knew that Dogpaw really like him and Stonepaw could see how he made her feel like that being so close to her and all.

She nodded softly, “I don't want to find love right now, either. Stonepaw, you do know it's just a crush, right? Nothing too serious.” The brown apprentice mewed lightly, her bright blue eyes looking up at him. Dogpaw returned the lick, by licking behind the ear, as she always did.

"Of course a Pretty little Princess would never fall in love with a bad tom like me," Stonepaw said with a grin.

[Dogtail]

She purred in amusement, the memories of kithood flooding back to her. The times when there weren't any worries, just joy. “Yes, you're so very vicious and unforgiving. Shame on me for growing affection towards such a bad tom!” Dogpaw mewed sarcastically, laughing lightly as she leaned on her friend's side.

Stonepaw smiled warmly at Dogpaw, "Hey no matter what you are still my princess."

[Dogtail]

She grinned, her bright blue eyes sparkling with amusement. “And no matter what, Stoney, you'll always be the nicest, funniest, and smartest best friend ever. And my personal slave.” Her first sentence was quite true, but the second was meant to be a little joke. Dogpaw smiled reassuringly, a warm little grin on her face.
