Giving birth (Snakefang/O)

"It's a flood, darling." I told the kit gently, nudging the kit inside the nursery. I came back out, to watch a furious expression cross my father's face. For all I knew, his precious herbs were washing away.

[Snakefang]

Then, with relief, the flood died down. I watched, flanks heaving, as the flood only got up a few fox lengths. I climbed down the rocky slope and looked into my den. Whew! Only some of my herbs were washed away, not all. But I still had some hunting for herbs to do.

I went back up to the nursery and rubbed against Spottedpaw. "Thank you. Lets take that back the medicine den." I grabbed some herbs, climbed down the rocky slope, put them back in my den, and went back for some more. The sun was starting the come out, and the rain stopped as I put more herbs in my den, yet thunder still rumbled off in the distance. The sunset was awesome.

I watched in disbelief as the flood died down, and followed my father down to his den, like a magnet to a piece of twoleg metal. Curious, I watched him evidently, and I sighed through my nose heavily and furiously as I saw what was left. And darn! The sprig of catmint was missing. That sucked.

[Ducksong]

Duckkit smelled something, like, an animal. Not dead, alive. Alive and Duckkit was starving.
"Mommy?"
He called for his mom.

[Snakefang]

"Most of my herbs are safe," I sighed in relief. "But some of it is gone. It will take at least a moon to find all the herbs we need." I heard a call from the nursery, and I scrambled up to the nursery. "What do you need, Duckkit?" I asked my nephew.

[Ducksong]

Duckkit was shivering and his stomach grumbled deeply.
"I'm hungry."
The tom kit replied to his uncle.

[Snakefang]

I lifted my paw, and looking strait at Duckkit, I smashed the mouse that was so stupid. "Sweetfur, eat this and feed your kit some milk. His teeth ain't strong enough to chew real meat. You must feed him some milk."

Spottedpaw heard the little kit as well, and she smiled slightly. The sun started to peek out from behind the clouds, and she frowned.
"Either that's the shortest flood ever, or maybe it's just my imagination." she muttered darkly, shaking out her shaggy calico fur.

[Ducksong]

The small tom kit shivered even more. A little harsher this time.
"I'm cold."
He said aloud to no one in particular.

[Phantomwhisper]

Hearing that the kit was cold Phantompaw said in a warm voice, "Its OK." The tom began to lick the kits pelt to warm him.

[Ducksong]

Duckkit felt the tongue but still felt chilled.
"I'm still a bit cold."
The tom said, not wanting it to stop. Never.

[Phantomwhisper]

Phantompaw kept licking and pushed the kit into his mothers soft warm belly fur. Sadly it was wet from the water. Phantompaw had long legs so he wasnt wet. Laying down he pulled the kit against his warm stomach hopping Sweetfur didnt mind. But the little tom would get sick if he wasnt warm.

[Ducksong]

Duckkit lay quietly next to Phantompaw's warm belly and started purring. The warmness of the fur almost instantly heated up the tom kit.

[Phantomwhisper]

Phantompaw smiled as the kit seemed to warm up. "Good, your feelings better." He said happily.

[Sweetfur]

Sweetfur was soaking wet from the flood but began to eat the mouse and looked at phantom "Is he still hungry?" she asked the tom, looking at her poor wet kitten.

(OH MY GOSH. SO APPARENTLY I'LL BE HAVING TWO MORE KITS.)
