Giving birth (Snakefang/O)

Quickly appearing beside Snakefang, I touched his ear tip with a daughterly gesture. "I promise." I said softly, my voice thick and hollow from the scar the eagle gave me for life. Touching his tail with my own calico tail, I touched his ear tip once more as a daughterly gesture. Sitting down beside his right flank, I heaved a huge sigh through my nostrils. I would begin that promise today.

(Duck, how can you watch my expression if you're blind? XD)

I rested my muzzle on Spottedpaw's head, purring and smiling. "Good." The harder these two trained, the harder it would be to fight them in battle, the less and less they would be hurt.

[Sweetfur]

Sweetfur looked at Snakefang and sighed, "Do you think he will talk soon?" she asked, now worried that he would never speak, which would be horrible. "I mean he hasn't said one word.." she meowed frantically, everything was going wrong, was this normal for a first litter? she wondered to herself.

[Snakefang]

"You don't have to worry, Sweetfur. He said something earlier. He'll be fine," I assured my sister as I looked down at the little kit. My nephew...Duckkit. He'd be a strong one, I could tell...

[Sweetfur]

Sweetfur let out a sigh of relief "I'm just worrying to much, he is my first and only." she meowed. She hopped that he would turn out to be a great warrior one day. Looking up at her brother she smiled "So how is the med cat life working for you?" she asked.

I twitched my ears, my one good eye sharp and alert for danger. That was what had come over me since I had been attacked. My fur rose as a quickly fluttering shape darted past outside the den, but it was only a partridge. Mouth watering, I dove outside the medicine cat den, making an impressive leap as I kept my one eye trained on the bird. I caught the bird in my mouth in a matter of seconds, killing in instantly as I crushed its windpipe with my teeth. Triumph flared in me, and I darted quickly back to the medicine den, dropping it in front of Sweetfur for her lunch/dinner/whatever.
"For you." I chirruped, licking my flank and ignoring the gnawing hunger in my stomach. I had to feed every older cat in the clan before I fed myself. Well, it was against the warrior code if I had eaten the bird right then and there when I caught it.

"Its great!" I meowed excitedly. "There are all sorts of things to do, counting my herbs, healing wounds. Did I mention that I got a fresh stalk of Catmint for the winter? Then I'll be ready for greencough, whitecough, and blackcough. I just got a new stalk of coltsfoot two, which is good for coughs and illnesses and all that. I-" I stopped there. "I'm boring you to death, I'm guessing?" I chuckled softly at myself. "Don't get me started on my job. I'll ramble on for hours!"

[Sweetfur]

Sweetfur watched spottedpaw catch the bird and purred "Great catch, but i couldn't possibly eat this all. Would you like to share?" she asked the apprentice. She was hungry but knew she couldn't eat it all right now she was to busy worrying over her kit.

She smiled at her brother "Oh no i could listen to this all day" she purred with laughter. "So how long do you think i should stay in here?" she meowed, eager to get back to the nursery but not wanting to leave just yet.

[Snakefang]

I shrugged. "You can go back anytime you want. But I will escort you there, cause lately, there have been a lot of eagles, and you'll need a warrior or the crazy medicine cat to come with you."

Then I turned to Spottedpaw and purred. "Great catch!" I licked the top of her head.

I blushed when Snakefang licked my head.
"Of course, Sweetfur. Don't flatter me Father." I joked playfully pawing my adopted father with a sheathed paw. I listened to the wind roar outside, and dark clouds covered the sky. Looked like rain.
"Looks like rain." I meowed, loving water, surprise, surprise. It was actually pretty if you saw the after effects. It was an open invite for Sweetfur to take first bite, and I yawned, watching the first drop of rain hit the ground.

[Snakefang]

Outside, the storm thundered. "Ok, then, Sweetfur. You're staying here with Duckkit until the storm passes." I looked outside my hole in the side of the hollow. There was a little path to get up to my den, and the rockpile was in the middle of the hollow. I looked to the right and...SPLOOSH!!! A wave of water smacked against my head, and I pulled back in. Oh no...

Flood!

[Phantomwhisper]

Phantompaw just let his gaze wander to the kit not really hearing any of the noise around. SUddenly a name surged into his head, Phantomwhisper. Glancing at Sweetfur, the prtty and nice queen he said, "Why do you expect his warrior name to be?"

"We need to get to higher ground!" I yelped sharply, water washing around my paws while watching Snakefang get hit by a massive wave.
"I'll get Duckkit!" I yelped sharply again over the wind and flinched as water was rising now to my ankles. Attempting to grab the little kit's scruff in my jaws, I held the kit gently but firm enough that he wouldn't get washed away. Then I plunged out into the raging storm, watching in horror as lightning crackled across the sky. A loud boom of thunder echoed the lightning, and I soon reached the highest den, the nursery. I tried to push Duckkit in the nursery, but was washed away by a massive wave. I let out a sharp yelp of pain as my back grazed the Rock Pile. Gritting my teeth, I gripped on the side of the Rock Pile, and struggled to swim my way back to the nursery. Strong hind legs kicking furiously, I made it to the nursery in a matter of minutes. I shook out my fur and watched the medicine den in horror, fear spiking up my fur sharply.

[Snakefang]

"Come on!" Without waiting for an answer, I grabbed Sweetfur's scruff in my jaws and started swimming for the nursery. "Phantompaw! Follow behind!" I swam on, and we got to the nursery. "Everyone! Flood!" I yelled down into the camp, grumbling as I watched my herbs get washed away. That would take moons to stalk up...

[Ducksong]

Duckkit felt his scruff, but was totally unaware of what was going on. He was curious, but scared if it was dangerous. The young tom finally got words out. "What's going..... on?" He asked the apprentice.
