Firelight lifted her head, blinking slowly. She ha hope for a significance, something to remind her of who this feline was.. But it didn't come to her. Oh.. Wait.. Wait..

Shadowwing glanced back at Firelight and flicked his tail. "I should be asking you the same question. Aren't you that on kit that used to follow me around all the time?..... Firepaw?"

Firelight's eyes widened, and, for the first time in a log time, she was overwashed with nostalgia, and suddenly.. It all came back to her.
"Shadowwing! Good CloudClan, it I'd dashing to see you. "
Rising to her full height, she placed her paws on Shadowwing's shoulders, rasping her tongue over his ears.

Running her tongue over her fur, she presumed she looked unkempt and therefore not presentable.

Shadowwing smiled at his former apprentice, sitting down and laying his tail neatly across his paws, as always. "I've decided to face facts I guess. Besides, I'm not sure I can keep up with all these new cats. And, I figured you needed some company. I'll entertain the kits for you, if that's your only complaint."

"I have an excessive amount of complaints, but you'll figure those out as time wears on. Like how the apprentices never do a decent job in cleaning, and all they ever do is pull on my ears for stories anyway. .."

Shadowwing nodded and flicked his ears. "They don't make apprentices like they used to. Oh well. I'll nag Leopardripple into raising hers right." He padded over into a more shaded part of the den and layed down there. "You're right about that. I hope the other dens don't get too stuffy."

Firelight nodded in complete agreement. It had been so long since she had even spoken to her once-called mentor, it almost made her sad to talk to him again.
"Well.. Assuming it does.. I am moving to te Medicine Cat's den. I know the kits won't follow me there. That's the last place they would go on their own time. "

Shadowwing sheathed and unsheathed his claws, becoming a bit saddened by the mention of the Med. Cat's den. "Not if they're anything like I was. I used to bother them all the time too. What do you think of the new Med. Cats?"

Firelight raised her maw, the dappled sunlight reflected on the silver flecks that had begun to form on her muzzle. Her whiskers twitched, contemplating an answer.
"I suppose so. Prairiemist is gone.. And Jaywing.. Sparrowfeather too.. Roseflower has gone off and left us.. Lightningstrike.."
Firelight closed her eyes. It was too much for her to handle. |

Shadowwing curled up into a tighter ball and layed his ears back. "Yeah... Lightningstrike..." He sighed thinking of his daughter. He rolled over onto his back. "Anyways, let's not dwell on the negative! Besides, Prairiemist is still here! She'll probably be joining us soon."
