Nightpaw padded into the apprentice's den after a long day of hunting training. The den seemed empty, and in the darkness she couldn't see anyone else. She lay down in her nest and tucked her paws under her chest, remembering the earlier days of her apprenticeship. She remembered her friend Ripplepaw she had met a while back. Nightpaw hadn't seen him around in a while.

Nightpaw was jerked back into reality as a familiar scent wafted into the den. She turned her head up to see who it was.

[Ripplefur]

Ripplepaw had, well he spent his day sleeping on a rock just outside of the apprentices den. When he woke up it was around nighttime. Most cats were sleeping. Some were being rebels like the kits who never fell asleep. He shook his head as Nightpaw's sent came to him. He sniffed it closely and could tell she had a long day training, and hunting. He purred and padded into the den after her. He saw her look around then lay down in her nest. Sitting in the corner he waited til moon high then padded over to her. He laid his muzzle on her head and purred. Come with me, Nightpaw. He purred and backed away towards the entrance. Looking back he beckoned his tail to her and put a handsome smile on his face.

Nightpaw was surprised by Ripplepaw's sudden friendliness. Normally she would complain about going out sometime this late, but something made her follow the tabby tom out of the apprentice's den and into camp. She wondered where Ripplepaw was taking her, and eventually she couldn't keep in the questions. "Where are we going?" she whispered, assuming he probably wanted to be as quiet as possible. She thought they might be sneaking out of camp, since there really wasn't anything interesting to do while you still inside.

Ripplepaw nodded as the she cat didn't argue. Once he had reached his destination he looked around and purred. They had walked to an underground tunnel he had found one day. It's entrance was behind the apprentices den and it was hidden under some bushes. I thought I should bring you here. I-I mean... Your my friend! He said quickly to cover up what he really wanted to say. There was a little pool of water in the middle of the cavern and a small stream. I found it one day when I was sleeping behind the den. I fell in. He meowed and sat down.

[Nightsong]

Nightpaw followed Ripplepaw into the tunnel and looked around the dark tunnel. As soon as she got out of the way of the moonlight that was filtering through the bushes that blocked the entrance, it glittered on the surface of the small pool in the center of cavern. Ripplepaw seemed to be hiding something when he said that he wanted to bring her here because she was his friend. There was something in his tone that made Nightpaw a bit suspicious of want he meant. But why did she feel weird around him. Suddenly noticing it was cold, she pressed up against him a bit. Realizing it was a bit awkward she scooted away again, staring at her paws in the darkness. "Sorry," Nightpaw murmured quietly.

[Ripplefur]

Ripplepaw didn't notice she had brushed up against him until she scooted away. He shook his head and pushed himself against her. Their fur brushed and under his tabby fur he turned bright red. He had a crush on her and it must have been oblivious. N-Nightpaw. T-there's something I want you to know. I-I like you. Like a lot. Like more thn a friend. He meowed and turned around and looked at his paws.

[Nightsong]

Nightpaw blushed under her fur as well. It had been subtle before, but now she noticed that she enjoyed the tabby tom's company. A lot. As he brushed up against her she tried to contain the words that wanted to spill out of her mouth for a bit more, savoring the moment. As Ripplepaw started to speak, Nightpaw felt her heart lurch, waiting for what she thought he was going to say. When he turned away, Nightpaw padded in front of him again and touched her nose to his. "I think...I like you too," she admitted.

Ripplepaw purred and touched his nose to hers. As his purr grew louder and louder he nuzzled her neck and smiled before softly tackling her to the ground and batted at her belly. You just made my night. I love you. He purred in her ear.

(Sorry it took so long! Was on a plane and stuff X.X)

Nightpaw let out a small mrowrr of surprise as Ripplepaw tackled her. She looked through the entrance and saw with slight alarm that the moonlight was fading. Pushing Ripplepaw off, Nightpaw started to pad towards the entrance. "It's almost dawn, we have to go," she whispered sadly while looking back at the tabby tom. "I wish we could stay, but we have to go back to training tomorrow." Nightpaw wanted to stay forever, but she knew she had to continue with her duties. RockClan would become weaker because of her.

[Ripplefur]

Ripple paw looked at her with a shocked expression on his face. O-ok. I'm sure your mentor is waiting for you. When your done with training I will be on the same rock as everyday. He meowed sadly and shouldered his way thought the tunnel and into the apprentices den. Another day of no training would start soon. He might as well catch up on his sleep.

[Nightsong]

Nightpaw turned around and brushed up against Ripplepaw once more before leaving. "I'll see you soon," she promised, giving him a quick lick on the top of his head before climbing outside to find Fadingecho, who usually started training pretty early. She hoped she would have enough sleep to do her battle training. As she left the small cavern, she felt a bit empty without Ripplepaw, but she shook her head and tried to focus on her duties. She waved her tail goodbye to the tabby tom before finally disappearing into the camp.

(I've done several doodles of them together on my papers and stuff, so I just need to take a pic and trace and stuff. So cute! <3)

Ripplepaw slept for most of the day. He didn't feel hungry at all yet all he did was sleep all day so he decided not to take his share of fresh kill today. Really he felt alone without Nightpaw. Well as the day started to come to an end he stood up and shook out his fur before looking around to see if Nightpaw had returned from training. He didn't see the she cat so he sat down and started to groom himself.

Right before the sun started to set Nightpaw padded into the camp carrying a plump mouse in her jaws. She spotted Ripplepaw not too far away, and she made her way towards him. She quickly dropped the mouse and scampered to the elder's den to make sure they had gotten some nice prey, then returned quickly and nosed the mouse closer to Ripplepaw. "Have you eaten? I thought we could share..." she mewed a bit awkwardly.

(I have traced it and finished the base and face coloring for the first one out of two I will make. Still need to make Ripple's stripes, shading, and background. Do you want them to have auras?)

Ripplepaw watched the entrance like a hawk until he finally saw the black pelt of Nightpaw. He was going to bound over to her and say hi but he held himself back. As she dropped the mouse she was carrying he thought he would help. But he held himself from doing that also. When she reappeared from the elders den he watched as she approached him with the mouse in her jaws. I won't eat it until you have had your fill. He meowed and looked at his paws.

"Well, Mr. Generous, I had breakfast. Eat up," she offered a bit forcefully, making sure he had at least half the mouse before taking a bite. She shuffled her paws a bit before asking, "After we eat, do you want to share tongues?" (It's not inappropriate! They're cats! They do it all the time.) Hopefully nobody else would notice, but even if they did, so what? It's normal even for just friends to do it.
