Well, It Only Took Three Years!

Maplesong had just finished her warrior vigil, which had been surprisingly challenging. She had been an apprentice for so long that she had actually stopped wishing to be a warrior moons ago, but now, ohhhh now she wasn't sure she could be any happier than she already was. She hadn't done much in her life, but this past day had definitely made up for all of her laziness. Her new name, Maplesong, which she loved, proved she had, in the long run, worked hard for her title. She had gone through three mentors, and now she was finally done with them vanishing from her life. Now it was her turn to take on apprentices, to lead patrols, to go into the frontlines of battles.

But first, she simply wanted to chat with some fellow warriors in her new den, and then take a well deserved nap.

"Congrats, I see you finally will be sleeping with me!" Lotuspetal purred as she noticed the orange tabby in the den. "I can't believe all my friends.... Except a few..... Are finally all warriors!" Lotuspetal bounced around Maplesong. "Nice name, by the way." Lotuspetal added. Oh, how exciting! Now perhaps it was safe to invite Maplesong to the top of her favorite tree..... Would that be safe? Whatever. It was plain exciting Maplesong was here!

Maplesong purred at Lotuspetal and nodded, although she couldn't help but continue to appear groggy and exhausted. "Aw, thanks. I'm pretty excited to finally be here myself." She purred quietly, tail tip swishing. "Oh, and thanks. I never really imagined myself with the name Maplesong, but I like it." She purred. "Although it's nothing compared to Lotuspetal."

"Really? I think !aplesong is much better." Lotuspetal purred, finally calming down. "So, now that we're warriors, you're hoping to be a mentor, right?"

Maplesong smiled and listened on. "Uh, sooorrttt of. Right now I'd kind of like to get used to being a warrior, get into the swing of things. But yes, eventually I'd love to train an apprentice of my own." She purred, imagining herself training an apprentice of her own. She'd definitely stick around, unlike her past three mentors.

Lotuspetal sat down, sweeping her tail around her. "So..... Your tired from your vigil, right?" Lotuspetal wasn't exactly tired during HER vigil. She was used to staying up all night. Even as a kit, she would sneak out her Nursery and sniff the fresh air. There was usually two ways to not be tired: Be used to silent vigils, or be so excited that you have to go running around instead of screaming.

Maplesong nodded and smiled. "I used to be so good at staying up all night, but for some reason that vigil really wore me out. I guess it's because all of my shock and excitement took away all of my energy." She purred jokingly.

Lotuspetal nodded in agreement. "Do you believe in Sky Warriors?" Lotuspetal asked, thinking of beliefs. She never really talked about this topic to anyone, but found Maplesong a good victim...... Er, cat to talk to.

Maplesong tilted her head to the left. "I've never heard of Sky Warriors. What are they?" She asked quietly, wondering if this was some kind of belief similar to Cloudclan.

"Well, these cats are spiritual cats did live in the sky. They are like Cloud Clan cats, the spirits of dead ones. But these cats can also be made of evil cats. Those evil cats are turned good by the sight of the Sky Warriors, for their gaze is full of empathy. The Sky Warriors live in paradise, and they have all the good traits in them. Each Sky Warrior is assigned to protect one cat whom believes in them.... Like a guardian." Lotuspetal explained.

Maplesong pondered what Lotuspetal had just told her for a moment, not sure if she found it to be a nice story or a weird belief. "Well, that certainly sounds nice. I don't really know if I'd say I believe in them, especially not since I've only just not heard of them. But who knows, maybe I'll see one and it'll change my mind." She said softly, glancing out the den into the dawn sky.

Lotuspetal sighed. "Now that I've heard of Cloud Clan, I'm mixed between beliefs." It was true. Cloud Clan seemed like a more basic version of the Sky Warriors. Perhaps that's why Aloè hadn't been with her; she was far from the skies that the Sky Warriors were in.

[Honeydrop]

Maplesong shrugged. "I grew up with Cloudclan. Plus, I mean, they just appeared and took Tuftpa- I mean Tuftfeather and Cherryleaf from us to join their ranks. Hard not for me to believe in them." She explained softly, thinking of something else to talk about as this was becoming a bit awkward. "Ssooo, got your eyes set on any specific tom?"

'Uh oh.' Lotuspetal's face burned. "Um... Yes." Lotuspetal tuned her voice into a whisper. "He's the best."

Maplesong grinned and flicked her tail tip. "Does this best tom ever have a name, or is he a secret? Don't worry, I don't have any crushes so you don't have to worry about offending me or anything." She said sarcastically.
