Splashstream entered the camp with a sparrow in her jaws. She had just gone hunting by herself this morning, and was pleased to see a few cats up. The calico walked over to the fresh-kill pile and dropped her prey. Grabbing a rabbit from the pile, Splashstream turned to see if there was any cats who wanted to share.

Dog continued to grumble, even behind the mouthful of sparrow he held in his jaws. The tall brown point tom had been out since the night before, still unwilling to have any part in the group-cuddling called a den, he'd slept in the forest and he'd darn well slept alone too. Instead of depositing his prey on the pile the tom stalked straight past it and settled down in the shadows of camp, hungrily tearing into the bird. He'd caught it, he'd eat it too. Six moons spent in Treeclan and he hadn't yet caught a snivel of prey for anyone but himself, and saying as much he'd never taking anything he hadn't caught.
The bird was gone much too quickly and Dog swiped his tongue over his jaws in disgust, still quite hungry. "Great, now I need to go out again," he groaned, quietly cursing his large size and larger appetite before closing his eyes and resting his head on large brown paws.

Splashstream scanned the camp, her eyes resting on a brown tom older than she was. Padding over carefully, She set the prey down in front of him. She's never really met a warrior, besides her friends and her old mentor. "Hello. I've seen you around before, but I haven't quite met you. Are you hungry?" Splashstream was usually really bad at controlling her hyperness, but she promised herself she wouldn't go crazy for a day. She started shuffling her paws, getting at least some energy out of her.

Dog grunted, ears pricking as a feline boldly approached, a calico she-cat with a rabbit hanging from her jaws. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, the tom averted his eyes, stomach growling. "Do me a favor and take that away, there's no way I could eat it," he growled, tail flicking from side to side uneasily. He'd managed to retain what ethical code he could from his life as a rogue, all he'd been able to hold onto now was his independence, and if he ate this......"I don't need charity."

Splashstream snorted. "You're gonna eat this. I heard your stomach grumble across the clearing for Cloudclan's sake!" She pushed the prey closer to the brown cat. "And it's not charity. Eat." Splashstream meowed, licking a paw and drawing it over her ear. *just wait. I'll make him eat!* she thought, grinning. She paused and looked at the cat. "I haven't gotten your name. I'm Splashstream."

"Ridiculous, you heard no such thing," Dog scoffed, flicking his head pertly to the side. His mouth twisted into a snide smirk at the feline's chaste attempts. "It is charity. I didn't earn it, I didn't ask for it, what else could that be?" the seal point demanded, tail sweeping the ground in place of a lash.
Splashstream, a warrior's name, he could figure out that much from his time here. She looked reasonably young though, he hadn't seen her before. "Splashstream," he repeated gently with a sigh. "My name is Dog."

Dog? That's not a warrior name... Splashstream thought, but kept her mouth shut. Realizing he was just going to keep refusing the prey, she dragged it toward her paws. "Suit yourself." She meowed, taking a bite and looking back up at Dog. She tilted her head. "So...how's life?" Splashstream meowed. She hadn't really talked to cats older than herself, and when she was with her friends they just played games and made bad jokes. She stiffened as she realized what she just said and how stupid it sounded.
