Broken All Over [p]

A broken rib and scarred slashes across the left side of my face.  Wow, I really shouldn't go out with Mintpaw anymore, should I?  I looked around with boredom.  Where was Thunderpaw?

Thunderpaw was royally pissed off, and the tightness in his steps was sure to show it as he approached Vinepaw. "What in the bloody hell is wrong with you!?" he demanded of her, thrusting his face into her space angrily.

[Vinewhip]

I paused as I watched him walked forwards, completely taking ignorance towards his quick steps. I my eyes widened and my smile turned upside down as the harsh tone pierced my ears. "What do you mean?"

His tongue clicked against his teeth angrily. "If you don't know what, then I guess you're brain's been damaged along with the rest of you."

[Vinewhip]

"My brain has been- oh! All of this is from, well," I paused, trying to find an accurate description of what had happened. "Uh, well. Mintfrost has bad luck? We were patroling and may have met up with a fox. Long story short, the fox got my face, threw me into a rock, and I may or may have not passed out." I gave a half smile, guilt spreading through me.

Thunderpaw bared his teeth and growled low in his throat. "So this is his fault." It wasn't a question but a dangerously low statement to himself. Blue eyes glowing, he looked down at Vinepaw. "You're an idiot."

[Vinewhip]

Chocolate eyes stared up. "I, uh, no! I mean, it's definitely all my fault for fighting it. He had, he had nothing to do with the injuries themselves!" I clumsily stood up, wincing from the fast action's effects.

"If he were any even partially useful creature he'd have protected you," he hissed cruelly. Tail tip twitching in irritation, he moved away when Vinepaw stood up.

[Vinewhip]

"Well, I mean, he got hurt too! You know he has that leg of his as well. I guess it's all my fault for not being able to protect myself!" I tried to give a shining smile and pass it off. "So, where have you been?"

"Got hurt? He should be dead," Thunderpaw muttered, taking a seat and pulling his tail around himself. "That's the only excuse I would have accepted for letting you get hurt." He already knew she was too useless to take care of herself in a situation where she would be compelled to help others instead. "Obviously not with you."

I nodded my head and grinned at his words. They were razor sharp and dipped with poison, but the blade was dull down at the hilt. Thunderpaw seemed to have his own special way of showing he cared for you. "Awe, someone is getting salty on the subject. Come on, where have you been? Lostpaw taught me some fighting moves recent;y, if you'd like to know!" I exclaimed happily as cocked my head with interest.

Thunderpaw's head flipped up as Vinepaw changed the subject. In truth he probably would have been fine with it if it was anything but the topic she had chosen. "The only thing I could stand to see of Lostpaw's is his rear end disappearing over a cliff," he told Vinepaw truthfully. However, he was slowly relaxing in her company.

I snickered and swung out a paw to swipe at Thunderpaw's ear. "Pft, I think he'd probably listen and do it too!" I felt good to be off of the pins and needles. "C'mon, where have you been, Squirt?"

"He'd better. I don't like the sound of that guy," he told her truthfully, ducking to evade her touch. "I haven't been doing anything. Since you find it so joyful to go gallivanting after wolves with Mintbreath, I've been spending my time with Spiritshadow, or alone."

I snickered at his comments, but paused as he continued on. My eyes and the corner of my lip seemed to twitch as I froze, struggling to keep my pelt smooth. "Ah, mhmm. Sounds quite delightful," I meowed, poison obviously dripping from my voice. "Maybe she and Lostpaw can have a fancy date off of that cliff."
