The sun shone on Stygian's black pelt as he relaxed near the lake's edge. It had been a few days since he'd really been around Joker's Cult and Amaryllis Pack; both had gotten rather quiet recently. So, the Eurasian male had set off on his own again. He hunted and slept as he saw fit, never really sticking to any one area for long. It was good to keep moving and learn what was going on amongst some of the other groups.
A small ripple of water washed over his front paws. Right now, Sty was full and a little sleepy. Though the fresh scent of another wolf had reached his nose, he saw no reason to leave. Maybe this other canine would decide to come over and say hello.

Darago was quite honestly getting tired of being alone. He completely realized that it was his fault, but he still disliked it. When he was younger he was rather social, but things changed and he started to go on his own. It was a shame that he hardly knew what was going on anymore.
As if Nature herself had read his mind he smelled another wolf in the area. He followed the scent to the lake where he saw the other wolf. IT was a black male he didn't recognize. Darago walked closer, but stayed a safe distance away. "Hello," he greeted.

Like most of their kind, this wolf seemed to be a little hesitant to get too close. Sty was never the touchy-feely type, so this was just fine by him. Still lying down, he shot a grin at Darago as he glanced over.
"Hi. It's rather quiet around here these days, isn't it?" Just a moon ago, the wolves' forested territory had been bursting with life. Now it was practically a ghost town. Well, he wasn't going to pass up the chance to socialize a bit, especially since this appeared to be a more experienced wolf. "My name's Stygian," he barked casually.

After making sure he wasn't going to be attacked that very second he walked closer to the water's edge. Though, he still maintained a fair amount of space between them. He paused for a second then returned the grin.
Darago shrugged at the question. "I wouldn't know. I suppose so." He had been scarce. "Then again it would depend on what time you're thinking of for it to seem quiet now." He searched his mind for that name, but he didn't find anything. So he hadn't met him before and forgot. There was also the fact that he didn't know the scent either. "I'm Darago."

Stygian took a quick guess that the white-furred creature didn't roam a lot. If you stayed too long in one area, it was easy to lose touch with the goings-on of the rest of the forest. Personally, he didn't think much of the idea of having a permanent den and whatnot. But he wasn't exactly going to go around murdering those who preferred a stationary lifestyle. No, the dark-furred wolf had more important things to waste his time on.
"Good to meet you. I was more referring to recent times; no one has been doing much this moon. I'm assuming that you don't belong to any sort of pack?"

"Ah... That would be a no. I think." Darago shrugged once again. It was more of the fact of he couldn't remember the last pack he joined or if he ever officially left it. Then again, it probably would have broken apart at this point. He figured Stygian might know at least some of things that have been happening recently. He did come here to see what was going on, so why not ask?
"What had been going on around here recently?"

His grin only broadened at the news that Darago did not belong to a group of wolves. Excellent; he really despised those who depended on packs to keep them safe and well-fed... although he hated the leaders of said packs even more. Stygian himself had joined Joker's Cult more out of curiosity than anything, but the group had never taken off. Oh well. No big loss on his part. One of his allies, Yechta, had convinced him to also join Amaryllis Pack as a spy... yet so far, he'd received no news of missions.
"Ah, good. As far as recent happenings... Honestly, like I said, there hasn't been a lot of anything. The packs all seem to have quieted down. It's all rather strange."

Darago titled his head to the side slightly. As far as he could remember packs were never quiet. Her cringed inwardly as he remembered a few of his own packs. Then again, maybe that was for the best considering what some wolves could be like. The white wolf lay down and rested his head on paws. He let out a large huff of breath. A few names floated across his brain. Yes, the forest could do with some peace for once. His head shot up the next instant.
"Do you think that they're planning anything?"

For a few moments, Darago appeared to be lost in thought, but then he spoke again. It was a good question, anyway. Stygian himself wasn't too sure what the packs' silence really meant.
"It's hard to say. Perhaps they are. But then again, if they aren't, they may just be falling apart. Both seem a little unlikely, since it would be strange for all of them to be plotting or disbanding at the same time. I suspect that it may be a mix."

"That does seem likely. Packs have always been like that, why would it change now?" He barked out a short laugh. He was an old, paranoid wolf. Still, he had been around too long to not be suspicious. Darago slowly let his head go back down to rest on his paws.
"Are you in a pack, Stygian?"

He shrugged briefly. "Technically, I suppose I am, but my loyalty does not lay there. I was sniffing around this one group called Joker's Cult, though I think it never took off. And then I was asked to join Amaryllis Pack... I'm allied with its leader, though the group itself doesn't really appeal to me." Better not mention the fact that he was actually a spy; Darago might mention it to someone if the opportunity arose for gossip.

"I think I've heard of a Joker's Cult." he said, "Though, that brings Hellhound, Angel, and Tas to mind. Were they involved?" He was more on edge now. Though he wondered if it could really be the same... It had been so long. Or maybe he was just putting two and three together and trying to get four.

Stygian shook his head. "It was a small group, really. The leader, Amai, had said something about Hellhound being a sort of role model for the cult... which seemed preposterous to me." He'd never met the apparently-deified wolf, but he did know Angel. Tas was an unknown name.
"Why do you mention those three, anyway? What did they do?"

Darago turned sharply and looked at Stygian. He had heard that name before! But where? He was getting worried now. He didn't know everything about Hellhound, but he knew enough. His eyes narrowed as he struggled to remember what he knew.
"I remember old pack and certain wolves tend to stand out." He let out a bitter bark, "What didn't they do? Also, what do you know about them?"

Darago seemed tense now that the topic of the three wolves had arisen. "I've only heard that Hellhound was some sort of old dictator. I met Angel briefly, about two moons ago, and I've never heard of Tas before." Stygian narrowed his green eyes slightly. "So far, no one's seemed really keen on giving details."
