Amberflash narrowed her eyes. 'Mother... Rainlight... Made a very good point. None of the clans have trees except for Treeclan...' "Were you climbing in trees on the border with Treeclan?" She growled. "You shouldn't be playing so close to the border!" She snapped. Then she turned her glare on Speckpaw and Firepaw. "Were you two with Foxpaw at the time of the incident?" She questioned harshly.

"Y-y-yes," Speckpaw shrunk back from the snappy warrior. The she-cat was scaring him a lot.

Amberflash narrowed her eyes. "Then why didn't you stop him?!" She growled, her voice raising in volume. "Why in the name of Starclan did he want to climb a tree for anyways?! You should've stopped him! He's here because you were careless enough to let him do something so utterly idiotic!" She practically screamed at Speckpaw. Then she turned away and sat down, trying to take deep breaths. 'Starclan, what's wrong with me?! Screaming at an apprentice....!' She mentally growled in her mind.

Firepaw said a soft farewell to Rainlight, before noticing the other warrior who she recognized as Amberflash was growing angry. Speckpaw flinched at her side, and the ginger she-cat pressed against him to give him comfort. The warrior's words pierced her heart like thorns. "Yes, we were there. But we didn't cross the border-we were just playing around. We didn't mean for any of this to happen... truly, it was all an accident." Lowering her head, her green eyes flashed with hurt. Why did she let Foxpaw climb the tree? Why wasn't she quick enough to save him? It was just an accident. she tried to tell herself. Foxpaw is better now. He's not hurt, and neither is Speckpaw. Sure, we were along the border but... we didn't cross it.
Firepaw raised her head. "We won't do it again, Amberflash...."
Of course they wouldn't.

Amberflash didn't turn back around. "You better not." She growled, without looking at the apprentices. 'An accident that didn't need to happen...' She thought viciously. 'Dumb apprentices not thinking! There's a good, solid reason I never ended up in here! I had enough sense... Lot more than my idiot apprentice.' She lay down on the floor. '.... Why am I still here? It's not like...' She shook her head, trying to not think of that.

Foxpaw being one of her few friends gave her a hard atare. It's my fault. Don't you dare ever harm my friends. "its my fault. Amberflash please leave me alone if you have no other intentions beside giving my friends mouse dung." He said despite how hard it was.

Speckpaw burned with guilt. He barely registered Firepaw pressing up against him. Amberflash was right. It was his fault for not stopping Foxpaw in time. If only he'd have known that his brother would pull a stunt like that...
Not wanting to take it any longer, Speckpaw ran out of the medicine den. He shouldn't have greeted Foxpaw when he woke up. His brother didn't need the cat that didn't do anything to stop him from doing something reckless.

Foxpaw's words struck her like claws tearing into her side. "Tch." Amberflash stood up and glared back at Foxpaw. "Fine." She tried covering up the fact that his tone and words hurt her by continuing to be rude and unpleasant. She wanted to say something else... Instead she padded out of the Medicine Den, head held low. For once her thoughts were silent. She was left alone with her emotions, which were confusing her once again.

Firepaw was torn between going after Speckpaw or staying with the injured Foxpaw. Padding up to the ginger tom's nest, the apprentice lightly tapped his shoulder with her nose. "It's alright. Don't fight with your mentor. She had a right to scold us, you know." She gave his ear a comforting lick before trotting to the exit, pausing just before disappearing. "Get better soon, Foxpaw." Then she slipped out.
On her way across the clearing, Firepaw noticed Amberflash sitting with a bitter expression in the corner of camp. Gathering all her courage and respect, the ginger she-cat walked over and dipped her head. "Please forgive Foxpaw. He's just... irritated he's in the medicine den and not training. And Speckpaw and I are truly sorry for what happened...." Her moss-green eyes searched the clearing for the said tom, wondering where he had gone.

Before he could retort she left he felt empty and he curled up with a pout he brushed ear with a paw feeling his insides not.

Amberflash turned to Firepaw, her glare still clear on her face. "If he wants to apologize he should do it himself." She hissed. Then she turned back away. "Not that he needs to anyways..." She muttered more quietly. "... And I suppose it's fine. Just make sure he doesn't do anything else stupid in the future."

Speckpaw watched from a dark corner of the camp as Firepaw talked with Amberflash. He felt a bit betrayed that his friend didn't come looking for him, but went to the warrior instead.
He quickly dismissed that feeling. The apprentice shouldn't feel like that. She probably had a good reason to talk to Amberflash. Still, it hurt.
