DANTE OF TWOLEGPLACE The sun's last dying rays were the only thing illuminating Dante's path as he padded confidently along the sidewalk. He wore no collar, and could barely be considered a kittypet in the first place, making him a prime target for animal control. But the pale-furred tom was always a few steps ahead of them. He liked to think that he was a few steps ahead of everyone. This town was a playground, and he was its unofficial king.
He hopped a fence, landed in a backyard, and shot a sly grin at the cat he found there. "Evening." WORDS: 098 || WRITTEN FOR: Anyone NOTES - Open to two. template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Kirin had been relishing the fresh air he craved.
Then some cat pounced over his fence and landed in his territory. He looked at the intruder, green eyes wide and confused. "Eh? Who are you?" He asked, sounding somewhat demanding. He thought he had every right to be just a bit rude. This cat just jumped into his backyard! Didn't cats respect boundaries?

Jade was a rather plump housecat with wealthy owners. With her lustrous calico fur of the softest blanket and dainty paws, with of course the jeweled diamond collar around her neck, she fit the picture of a housecat entirely. Her garden was made of beautiful, fresh green grass with flower beds all along the fence line, not too mention the magnolia tree planted off to the side with the wooden bench in the shade. And upon this day, the year old she-cat was curled up in an arch on that said bench, with a relaxing expression and her long fur fully groomed. Despite being a housecat, she loved the outdoors. Maybe not purposely getting her paws wet as a hobby, or ruining her housefolk's garden... but she was still a lover of nature. And, again, unlike most housecats of such a rich family, she wasn't high and prissy. Quite kind and curious, more or so, though never daring enough to leave the safety of her backyard.
And then she heard voices in the garden next door, where her neighbor Kirin held his territory at. And, the tomcat was rather protective of it to strangers, which another seemed to be as a shadow leaped over the fence and into Kirin's home. Jade raised her head slowly, the emerald eyes she was named after blinking slowly at the clinging nap, before yawning quietly and getting to her paws. It doesn't hurt to visit a neighbor. she thought, leaping gracefully off the wooden bench and making her way to the fence. She found the large stone path her housefolk used to get around the garden, while also making it more pretty, and trotted her way around until to the wall dividing her from the outside world. She wasn't much for leaving her home, like said before, but she at least wanted to see what was going on. And she did consider Kirin a friendly face at times. Without a word, she bounded up and into view of the two toms, balancing with ease on the sliver of space provided and peering down kindly at her neighbor and the stranger. "Kirin, do you have a guest?" Jade asked, proud to say she at least knew his name despite having little conversation with the tomcat next door. Her green gaze traveled from the stranger to Kirin, hoping each were nice and would let her chat as well. And have Kirin actually invite her into his garden, rather than the stranger had done in just blindly leaping in. I haven't seen him around before. I wonder who he is?
((just gonna jump in, too.))

Kirin turned his head to see his kittypet neighbor.
At the very least, she had the decency to not just leap into his territory. He was a little grumpy, at random cats coming over. He supposed it was common courtesy to invite cats in. "You can come if you want." He meowed at her, sounding slightly grumpy. He was in a slightly bad mood due to the 'Evening' cat.
He wasn't even sure what his neighbor's name was, even though she knew him. Dang. He couldn't remember her name, yet she could remember his. Then again... He probably dismissed her due to her fancy collar. He vaguely remembered her humans dressing rather differently than his own owners. Reminding him of the hazy memory of when he and his sister had been adopted.
His fur noticeably bristled at the memory of his sister. He growled at Jade. "Do you know who this guy is?!"

At the invitation granted, Jade gave a great bound into the garden and trotted happily over to the two, not faltered by Kirin's irritated mood. He had a right to be, in her mind. Yet she herself wouldn't have minded cats coming into her garden, save they weren't disruptive and mean. Her jade eyes blinked curiously at the stranger, now more intrigued than ever, and then she shook her head to Kirin's question. "Not a clue," she admitted, glancing at her neighbor and then to the cat. He didn't look like a housecat, or, at least none she had seen like him with ruffled fur and a different look in his eyes. "Who are you?" Jade asked more kindly than the housecat next door to her, hoping he would respond honestly.
((lets wait for Dante after this....))

DANTE OF TWOLEGPLACE Kirin obviously wasn't too pleased by Dante's sudden appearance. Rather than responding immediately to his demand for information, the sand-colored feline just glanced around when someone else heard the ruckus and wandered over. Hmm. Yes, they'll do, he decided after a moment.
"You can call me Sparrow. Now, I don't care about your real names; just pick one you like and stick with it for the rest of the evening." Dante wasn't looking to make friends here. Like so many other nights, he had things to get done.
He gave them a brief moment to think before speaking up again. "If you'll hear me out, I have a… proposition… for the two of you." No use in talking about the specifics if Kirin and Jade didn't want to know. WORDS: 129 || WRITTEN FOR: Kirin & Jade NOTES - Heyo! Can we set up a posting order since there's three of us? Sparrow, huh?
He thought it somewhat an interesting name. Not exactly a standard kittypet name. Still, that didn't make the intrusion alright by his standards. This Sparrow cat could've at least asked first, rather than just leaping in! He gritted his teeth. As for names, he perfectly liked his name! It sounded cool! "My name is Kirin, I like it." He grumbled quickly.
And a proposition? He couldn't deny that sparked his curiosity. He remembered a thing his sister told him once upon a time. Question anything and everything. While he despised his sister with a burning passion, he couldn't deny she was rather clever. As such, when she said things.... It was wise to listen.
He calmed himself slightly, still showing obvious signs of irritation. "... I'm listening." He meowed quietly.

Jade tilted her head at Sparrow, then listened as Kirin introduced himself as well, also adding he liked his name. She smiled, her own curiosity to what the proposition could be growing. "I'm Jade. And, I guess I'll listen too." the long-haired calico meowed.

DANTE OF TWOLEGPLACE Ah, so they were interested. Good. The task he had in mind would be much trickier if he attempted it alone. Seeing as Ava was occupied tonight, Dante was forced to do some improvised recruitment. Not that he minded. If things went wrong, Kirin and Jade were just disposable pawns to him.
Then again, the sandy tom was good at what he did, so he figured their chance of failure was rather low. He let the last traces of casualness vanish from his expression and started to explain. "Here's the deal. You won't need to do much. Just come with me and get the attention of the humans at our destination. Brush against their legs and purr, bite their ankles and run - doesn't matter how. Keep them busy somehow for a few minutes. In exchange, you'll get a few leaves of the finest catnip you'll probably ever lay eyes on. It's not an opportunity you're going to get again."
Glancing between the two, 'Sparrow' twitched one ear impatiently. "I haven't got all night, so hurry up and tell me whether you're in." WORDS: 182 || WRITTEN FOR: Kirin & Jade NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Catnip?
Kirin didn't get much of it. This Sparrow brought a pretty good offer. Now, had he truly heeded his sister's advice... He would've immediately found this offer suspicious. Since he did not.... He pretty much thought the offer honest. He paused for a moment before nodding. "I'm game." He replied.
True, he wondered what this Sparrow wanted a distraction for. He couldn't think of anything much. He was sure his sister (why did she always come up in his thoughts?!) would have about a million reasons. She was fairly paranoid. However, he had little to no ideas. Though... His curiosity wasn't strong enough to make him doubt the offer. He turned his head to see how Jade would respond.

Jade considered it. Catnip? Her housefolk already had enough of it. But she was rather curious as to why Sparrow wanted them as a distraction. What was he planning? Even if she didn't want to leave her garden, she certainly didn't want to let the loner down. "I don't see why not." she mewed, though unlike Kirin, she wanted to understand what the plan was.
"Though, can I know why? What will you be doing there, Sparrow?"

DANTE OF TWOLEGPLACE A small smile curled at his muzzle, but it wasn't quite right. There were too many teeth showing. Such willing pawns, he purred in his mind as he motioned for the two to follow and leaped back over the fence. Setting a brisk pace, he headed down the sidewalk,
"What do you think I'll be doing?" Dante meowed over his shoulder to Jade in response to her earlier question. "Somebody has to actually get the catnip, hmm?" WORDS: 077 || WRITTEN FOR: Kirin & Jade NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Made sense.
Kirin smirked as he leapt onto the fence and followed after "Sparrow" onto the sidewalk. He wondered where exactly "Sparrow" would get this catnip. Was he stealing from some other humans who owned a cat? After all... Weren't cat owning humans the only ones that had catnip?
Still, it sounded like it was stealing. It was.... Appealing to Kirin to say the least.

Jade bobbed her head in understanding before falling silent. She was a bit worried about leaving the safety of her garden, and subconsciously stepped closer to the two as monsters roared in echoes from afar and Twolegs raced around wild. Even a few stray dogs barked and made her fur bush up.
But she had to admit, it was a little exciting to be out in town.

DANTE OF TWOLEGPLACE Oh, this was going to be excellent. Dante could practically taste the catnip already. This was the sort of stuff most cats usually only heard about in stories. The fact that such a high-quality herb even existed was exciting on its own, and he was going to have his paws on the legendary plant very soon.
He led the two kittypets to the area of town where the upper class humans dwelled. Stepping through a hedge, the sandy tom paused to point with his tail-tip. "See that greenhouse? We're going there. You two keep the humans busy inside; I think there should only be one or two. When you see me leave, make your escape and meet up here again. Come on."
'Sparrow' kept low as he prowled to the back entrance of the greenhouse, which was actually quite large. Kirin and Jade just needed to wander in through the front and cause a disruption. Then he could slip inside and do his job. With any luck, they would all benefit from this little heist. WORDS: 175 || WRITTEN FOR: Kirin & Jade NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2
