Willowfall only please! This thread is fine as long as no one crosses the border--which we won't, so no need to fear He always seemed to like it at night. The moon was just peeking over the horizon as Speckpaw found himself leaning over a river. (I don't know if FireClan even border IceClan, but for plot I'll just say there's a river for a border. Please no hate....) He was marveling at the rippling moon on the surface, and his face beside it, for some time. He didn't like the water, especially in Leaf-Fall, but he did find it pretty calming. Raising his head just the slightest, Speck's eyes narrowed as he saw a shadowy figure in the water across the border. As his eyes rose higher and higher, he saw an IceClan warrior, and instantly his jaw went wide. "Beautiful...." he murmured softly, and then quickly shook himself from his daze. "Uh, hi. Sorry, didn't see you there." he meowed with a toothy smirk. "You come here often?"

Willowfall jumped, all her fur on her neck on end, her ears flattened. Turning her head to face the noise, her eyes fixed on a FireClan apprentice. "Uh.. Hello.." She breathed, slightly suspicious. "Why do you want to know? What do you want from me?" Willowfall was crouched down low, her tail tip flicking from side to sid, all of her senses on high alert. How could she know if this was a trap? Slowly, very slowly, she began to back up away from the river.
(Sorry for how short it is..)

{ nah it's fine }
Speckpaw sighed, remaining in his crouched position. Any sudden moves would startle the warrior. But he really didn't understand why the first thing a cat thought when they saw you on their borders was that you were causing trouble. At least Frostpaw hadn't been so bad, and now he could say the RockClanner was a really likable she-cat. "Listen, you don't have to tell me. I just thought I'd be nice." he said, and then waved his paw in a soft motion up and down. "I'm not going to hurt you. I don't really want to swim in this freezing cold water just to say hi. But at least stay around a bit longer? I'd feel terrible if a beautiful IceClanner hated me before I even had a chance to get to know her, or she myself."

Willowfall stopped, slowly raising her ears. What was she thinking? He could be a nice cat. Her tail tip still flicking back and forth, she locked her eyes on the tom. She had to admit, he was kind of handsome. "I'm Willowfall.. you are?" She asked, straightening up a bit out of her crouch. Her fluffy tortoiseshell-and-white pelt lie flat as she slowly relaxed herself. Suddenly, she realized she had unsheathed her claws, so she quickly sheathed them, before gazing out across the river to the FireClan tom once more.

Speckpaw purred at the name, glad she was friendly. She certainly looked like a nice cat, and he felt bad that a few borders and loyalties determined friendship between cats. "Willowfall. I think that's a pretty name." he complimented, and even added a wink. "I'm Speckpaw. Hopefully soon I'll get my warrior name, though."
{ sorry for the shortness, I'm being pressured by friends to get out of the house! }

Willowfall smiled slightly, getting more interested in this tom. "Speckpaw, hmm? I may say, I like the sound of that. I'm interested to hear what your warrior name is." She mewed, flicking her ears. "Oh and umm.. Thanks for the compliment." Willowfall dipped her head in thanks, being as polite as she could.

"Aren't we all. Hopefully a good warrior name, though. Otherwise it may ruin my charm." he replied, and then added. "And of course. Why wouldn't I compliment such a beautiful she-cat like you? Must have been fate to come across you this night." Had CloudClan used their magic and cause the two to lock gazes? Or had he simply been lucky enough to catch sight of Willowfall while enjoying his time by the river? Either or, he was thankful for whatever force brought the two together.

Willowfall licked her chest in embarrassment, flattered by the tom's compliments. "Well I uh.. All I can really say is thank you.. I've never really been complimented like that before.. You are quite handsome yourself." She mewed in gratitude, awkwardly flicking her ears and shuffling her paws, unsure what else to say.

Speck's eyes lit up. Ah, another handsome compliment. It really made him feel good about himself. He bowed his head. "Why thank you, Willow." he purred and then stood up straighter.
"So, if I can ask without drawing suspicion, what's a beautiful cat like you doing out here at a time like this? Was it truly fate or simply luck?"

"Well I.. I was coming to practice my fishing, as I am not the greatest at it." She answered the tom, flicking her ears. A thousand thoughts were running through her mind at once. "Am I really that beautiful? I don't think I am." She thought, before locking eyes with Speckpaw once more.

Speckpaw shivered a bit at that. "Brr. Isn't the water too cold to fish?" he meowed with a warm smile, and then his gaze drifted upon the river for only a moment before returning to her eyes. Such a beautiful color. "But don't worry. A pretty she-cat like yourself is certain to succeed at anything. You'll be fishing in no time at all." he paused and then chuckled lightly. "Heh, I would offer to help you, since that's what a good tomcat does... but you know way more about fishing than I ever could, Willow."

Willowfall narrowed her eyes in the slightest. "How 'pretty' you are doesn't define how well you hunt, track, and fight." She responded, lashing her tail. "A cat could be the most beautiful of the whole forest, but the worst in battles and hunting. Another cat could be quite unattractive, but the best hunter, fighter, or tracker in the forest." Willowfall stared at the apprentice, her tail flicking back and forth.

Speck tilted his head. "I meant no disrespect, Willow. I do know any cat can make an amazing warrior. I was just complimenting you on your beauty and adding that I believe in you." he said calmly, feeling bad for having stated his words as such. "You seem like a very capable IceClanner, and I've always admired the warrior she-cats more. It's nice to be the hero beside the cat, you know. But anyway, I'm certain you'll be an amazing fisher... and always a beauty, I can't help but say as well." He winked.

Willowfall simply flicked her ears, looking down at the river now, breaking away from the apprentice's gaze. "Think before you mew, have every word planned in your head. Then you should be fine. That is one thing they don't teach apprentice's now. Most cats have to figure it out themselves." She paused, waving her tail before adding: "But ah, you are an apprentice, and that is when you learn the basics. Most cats think once they become a warrior, they know everything. But hoho, are they wrong. Even the greatest warrior has more to learn. Cats rely on other cats to make mistakes, and to learn from them." With that, she quickly, without letting her shadow cast over the river, snagged a fish out of the water with her claw, and bit down, making sure she killed it. Then, lying it down next to her, she sat down once more and locked her eyes on Speckpaw, turning her head slightly to the side, her ears forward towards him.

Speck was surprised when she easily hooked the fish, and he couldn't help but purr. "Your actually much wiser than you appear." he meowed slowly, hoping not to ruffle her fur again. "I get what your saying, Willow. Oh, and congrats on the fish."
{ muse left, but anyway, when do you think we should end the thread? Soon or later? }
