Ripplekit sniffed curiously at the fresh-kill pile, his tiny dark nose recoiling at the strange scents. He was still living off milk, and not accustomed to the weird "prey" that normal cats ate. Luckily, Ripple wasn't planning on actually eating any of this food; that would be absurd. After all, he was quite sure the carcasses in front of him would be much more useful as toys. Ripplekit giddily nosed a bird--not that he knew that's what it was--onto his head and shuffled around until it covered most of his small body. He bounced on his heels a bit, a bubble of laughter escaping him as the wigs of the bird flapped. Excited, Ripple started trotting blindly around camp, the hooked beak of the bird obscuring the top of his vision so that he was only able to see the ground in front of him. "Look! I can fly!" he mewled merrily, skipping a bit and almost losing the bird in the process. It suddenly accrued to him that the thing on his head most likely had a name-- not just "flying thing with feathers". Now curious, Ripple set out to sniff for someone to inform him of what his plaything was. It didn't take him long to single out a scent, and he clumsily approached the stranger, who wasn't visible to him from under the bird. "Exuse me, but what's on my face-- er, body?" the tabby mewled brightly nudging the feathered beast lightly with his tail as he awaited a response.

Sandstone was just deciding wether to go for prey or to stay there until a kit padded into her. She laughed seeing the bird on him. "Ah well you have a bird on you, young one." She stifled a pur of amusement. The kit looked as though they scraped the pelt of the bird and put it on himself. "Do you want that off of you? Or would you like to remain a bird?" She smiled crouching down to see if she could see the kit face to face. All she got though was a beak to the muzzle.

Ripplekit's mouth widened into a smile as he heard laughter-- glad that he could bring joy to another. "A bird? Huh, that's a weird name," the tabby mewled truthfully, trying to crane his neck up to he could see who he was talking to. It didn't work out very well, the action only leading him to almost lose his balance. The tom huffed softly, settling for looking at the older cat's paws. "I think I wanna remain Ripplekit," the kitten stated brightly, "but do I haft to take off the, um, whats-a-call-it... feathery-thingy... the bird! Yeah. Do I have to that take off the birdy to do that? I sort of like it-- it's warm and kind of fluffy," Ripplekit rambled enthusiastically, liking how the heat that remained in the bird seeped through the belly of the deceased animal and onto his back.

She smiled, "Its fresh kill, and you can keep it on for a a little longer." She meowed as her stomach grumbled, she wondered if the kit would like to play a game, it would help keep her mind of Sprucepaw's question. "Hmmmm. Would you like to play a game? It involves the Birdy." She asked politly.

"Yay!" Ripplekit purred, his heavy tail swaying happily in a dog-like motion. "A game?" Sure! I LOVE to play a game," he mewled enthusiastically, trying to twirl around in a small circle-- a habit he had when he was excited. Except, due to the bird that was perched on his back, the tabby ended up fumbling a bit and almost losing his balance. The tom quickly righted himself before staring intently in the direction of where he believed the older cat most likely was.

She smiled. "Your enthusiasm is contagious." She laughed. She then looked at his. "The game we shall play is cat and bird. I am the cat and you are the bird its a hunting game." She meowed remembering her kit hood. This kit reminded her of her young self. She smiled softly and lowered herself into a hunters crouch and used a paw to lift the bird a little so the kit could see more clearly.
"Now go hide and I'll wait a few moments." She meowed softly and turned her back closing her eyes. "Call out when your done." She meowed seeing if the kit would fall for the old trick the deputy played on her.

Ripplekit blinked, his pale blue eyes adjusting to the light as he was finally able to see. "Wow," he breathed, finally able to catch a glimpse at his companion, "your pretty," he complimented brightly, his ears fluttering underneath the cover of the bird. The tabby let the instructions of the game sink in before nodding enthusiastically. "No peaking!" the tom mewled, rushing off as soon as the older cat turned her back. Ripplekit spent a few moments looking vigorously around camp before deciding the best place to hide was the fresh-kill pile; after all, with the bird on his back he should blend right in! Not wanting to waste his time, the tabby scurried over to the fresh-kill pile and snuggled himself with in the warm bodies, making sure to keep his tail tucked underneath him so it wouldn't be seen. "I'M READY!" Ripplekit howled, his voice giddy with anticipation.

Sandstone smiled at the compliment. "Thank you." She purred. She then closed her green eyes and waited for Ripplekit to hide. 'Remember scent is your greatest advantage.' Sandstone remembered what Darkheart told her. She breathed in the now stale scent of him and waited. Finally she heard her Que.
"Now where is he." She meowed with amusement. She loved playing games it reminded her so much of her kithood. She then breathed in the scents around. "AHA!" She yowled as she caught his sweet nursery scent. She followed it slowly and it led her to the fresh kill pile. Her stomach growled.
"Hmm how about I have a bird for a snack." She said playfully and picked up the bird she thought Ripple was under, "Yum!" She purred picking it up along with the young kit. She giggled softly and padded it to a shady spot and sat down. "Now lets eat this birdy." She meowed bending down to take a bite.

Ripplekit giggled mischievously as he heard Sandstone looking for him, thinking that for sure he was safe. He wiggled himself a little further into the pile, hoping she wouldn't catch him. A soft, whimper-like squeal escaped him when he realized he was being picked up, and the young tom churned his legs in the air in a swimming-like motion as he tried to escape the she-cat's grasp. "Wait! Don't eat me!" Ripplekit mewled with wide eyes.

"Huh? This preys alive?" She asked playfully a loud. She set the bird with kit under it down. She nudged the bird with a playful motion. And then saw Ripplekit. "Oh!" She laughed softly. "There you are." She smiled kindly.

Ripplekit squealed when the she-cat nudged the bird, his small body wriggling as far away from her muzzle as he could get in order to avoid any chances of getting chomped on. "Yup!" the tabby confirmed, "here I am! Oh, um, I guess that means you win, huh?" Ripplekit's brow furrowed for a moment in slight disappointment that he hadn't won the game. "Oh well," he finally mewled with a sigh, his usual lazy smile slipping back onto his face, "you win some you lose some, I guess."

"No." She meowed softly. "I didn't win, its my turn to be prey, but since im much larger then you I'll be a badger you have to chase off." She meowed as she got into her hunters crouch. She put on a fake badger face.
"And keep claws sheathed!" She said kindly and then got back to her part. Her face showed friendless, and the preparation to attack. And kill if it were part of my mission.

"Oh... okay!" Ripplekit mewled cheerfully. He wasn't completely sure what a badger was; he assumed it was either the smelly ginger-thing the elders talked about, or the smelly black-and-white thing the elders talked about. Neither one was a good thing to have in camp, he believed. Seeing that the warrior--no, badger-- had shifted into attack mode, Ripplekit did the same. He squared his shoulders and lowered his ears, his thick tail lashing in excitement as he tried to put on a threatening face. He wasn't to sure what to do next, so the tabby waited for the badger to make the first move.

Sand let out a roar/growl and lept at Ripple trying to pancake him. "Guess I got a appraiser. Then the rest of your clan for dessert!" She laughed menacingly.

Ripplekit shrunk back a bit as the "badger" growled at him, the low noise instinctively sending a wave of panic through him before he recomposed himself, trusting in the fact that he was playing a game and that Sandstone wasn't really trying to hurt him. By the time he realized the older she-cat was lunging for him it was too late to completely avoid her, so when he tried to scramble away it ended up with her snagged his tail and back legs."NEVER!" Ripplekit replied, starting to trash about violently in an attempt to both free himself and avoid any attack the warrior might try to attack him with.
