Pinyondapple had winced when Hazelclaw whipped his head around at the sound of the Twoleg. And the there was a strong force on her side that made her shriek in horror, before the feeling of gravity and wind made the she-cat completely blank. The ground rushed to her, with the sandy marbled warrior landing limply on her side with only a soft squeak. It hadn't hurt, only forced her mind to actually process the situation... and that she had fallen on grass.
Raising her head up shakily, Pinyo saw the window. He had pushed her out... wasn't he going to follow? Could he make it in time? Leaping up and backing away from the spot she had fallen as if it had burned her, Pinyo let out a desperate wail. "HAZELCLAW!!!" Could he even hear her? Could he escape? Had the Twoleg gotten him already? "C-CloudClan, n-no... p-p-please...!"

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw gasped as he felt Pinyon disappear under his force and almost fell off the surface. He saw Pinyon had escaped. It was his turn. He didn't look back and tried to fit in the small hole, getting his head through, one paw, the other... Then he stopped. I cant fit?? He hissed, then heard foot steps behind him. He wiggled and tried to get free, but felt something grasp his leg. Hazel tried to kick with his might, and got most of his body through, and needed to get the legs and tail through the window to escape.

Pinyondapple had jumped when Hazelclaw's head had popped through. Then his other two paws. He seemed to be dangling over the screen, trying to push himself out, but the shadow of a Twoleg towered behind him. Pinyon let out a soft screech. She had to save him--if there was ever a time she couldn't allow herself to cower and flinch, it had to be now. But what could she do? She was helpless in this situation.
So she tried the only thing that came to mind. Leaping up into the air to where Hazelclaw was, as the window wasn't very high, and flinging her paws outward to latch onto him. Hopefully her weight could bring him out, if she didn't miss.
Really, she had no other ideas but to attempt and pull him free....

Hazelclaw Hazel watched Pinyon jump, he then held out his paws toward her, and he tried to not sink his claws into her, rather hers into his was better, but he knew she wouldn't unsheathe them enough to draw blood. He was almost stretched with the weight, and felt himself pulled from both ends, then tightened his eyes. Suddenly he was on his side. Nice, green grass around him, I'm dead! he thought then blinked a few times, seeing the window, twoleg, and.. "Pinyondapple! We.. We're free!"

Pinyo was shocked as they landed onto the grass, having succeeded, before she heard the mewling of the Twoleg alerting the rest of it's family of their escape. She leaped up, darting her gaze around, before her stormy gray eyes landed on her best friend. "R-run!" she cried, but had no idea where to go, hoping Hazelclaw would lead the way....

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw nodded, trying to run in camp's direction around the house first toward a fence. He looked back to see if Pinyondapple was following. He waited at the fence first, and looked around to see if anyone was coming.

Pinyondapple was quick on his paws, hearing a roar from the den as the Twolegs rushed outside to stop them. She leaped over the fence and on the other side, wincing with a small mewl at the landing, before casting Hazelclaw another fearful look. And then she ran ahead.
The she-cat only stopped when she reached a safe distance from Twolegplace, in a small patch of trees and bushes that created an overhang for a clearing. There, she collapsed in the middle with ragged breaths. We... got away.... she whimpered. Hazel... claw is... alive....

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw watched as Pinyon blazed past him, and he caught up behind, not noticing the surroundings, until she stopped. "It's gone.." he whispered, blinking a few times. "We.. we can get back to camp after a rest." The tom sat by his friend, looking worried. He realized she wasn't in danger anymore and he relaxed a bit but was still alert.

Pinyondapple appeared like she hadn't heard him, but slowly her head rose. She regarded Hazelclaw with scared gray eyes for a few moments before hanging her head low again. "S-sorry...." she hiccupped, eyes watering. "I-it's all my f-f-fault...."

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw relaxed for a while, until he heard Pinyondapple, "No.. it's not your fault, everyone makes mistakes." He sighed and sat up placing his muzzle on her shoulder for a few seconds before folding his paws underneath him and laying down.

Pinyondapple sniffled again, though was at least thankful for his comforting words. She laid down beside him, a trembling mess, before sniffling and gathering her voice again. "I-I should have n-n-never m-met the T-Twolegs." she whimpered, her fear rising. Hazelclaw had to be mad at her. Why wouldn't he be? She had almost got them both killed! He must have been furious. Utterly shaken and exhausted in anger. Ready to kill off their friendship. The only reason for saving her being they were FireClanners, and he felt a loyalty to rescue his Clanmate. And maybe make sure she didn't spill any secrets to rouges and loners. That was it. He probably hated her. She was an idiot for trusting the Twolegs and eating from them. She probably deserved the hate, too.
Her mind was racing again like it always did, fearing the worst of situations to arrive.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw looked worried and sympathetic to his friend, since kithoot. He was so happy she didn't die, or get harmed, that he'd know of. "Pinyondapple.. I.." he said, he licked the top of her head. "I couldn't stand it.. you were gone for too long.." The large tom sighed, he wanted to say more, but he just wanted her to be happy.

Pinyondapple stiffened as he licked her head, though she felt comfort in the action. She listened to her best friend's words with trembling paws, slowly sinking into his fur and moving to bury her muzzle into his shoulder, not willing to face reality anymore. She just wanted all the fear to stop. She just wanted to stop trembling. And Hazelclaw was like a statue, as strong as an oak and warm as sand on a sunny day. Her only stable bond. The only stable ground she had in this world. "I-I'm s-s-sorr-rry." Pinyo whimpered out, flattening her ears against her small head. "T-t-thank y-y-yo-you."

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw gave a small smile as she sunk into his fur. He let out a small low purr, "Don't be sorry, and don't thank me," he said, "At least you're safe," he said quietly.

He was just faking, right...?
Wasn't he furious with her...?
Was he just waiting for the perfect moment to break her fragile heart...?
Pinyondapple let out another whimper. "W-w-why aren't y-you m-m-mad?" she squeaked out, flinching a moment after. Her stormy gray eyes were pools of utter fear. Nothing else.
Because her fear was making her believe that, yes, he was angry. She was a fool to believe he actually wanted to stay her friend.
"D-don't you hate m-me?" Her voice broke off at the end from the terror. It felt like if she said the wrong thing, he would snap. But this was Hazelclaw she was talking about. She couldn't fear him. Why was she so afraid of him? She had to believe, deep down, he wasn't angry. Of course he wasn't.
Was he? Why wasn't he angry, then?
She was so confused and afraid!
