Hazelclaw Hazelclaw grew tired crawling over fences, deciding to stop at one of the yards. He felt like he was finished, he would never find his friend. Why couldn't I stop her from coming?... This is my fault.. The usually cold-hearted tom fell on his side in defeat. Suddenly he heard a squeaky sound, followed by a small slam. The tom was tired, and didn't even care to look. He heard weird.. voices, he couldn't understand, I don't even know. For all I care I could be going to CloudClan.. The tabby heard heavy footsteps toward him, but he was falling into sleep.

At one point, one the younger, female Twolegs had approached Pinyon and was gently cooing something, as if to comfort the stricken she-cat. But all Pinyondapple could do was cringe away and dash across the room, huddling underneath the bed and trembling. It was some time before there were more sounds, louder and distressed, and Pinyon recognized a few of the mad jibberish. Cat was the most prominent. Carefully, Pinyon crawled into the hallway to peer at what was happening, only to freeze at what she was staring at. The familiar fur... it couldn't have been....
"H-H-Hazelclaw?!" the skiddish she-cat cried, bounding towards his limp body. "C-CloudClan, no... d-d-did they h-hurt... H-H-Hazelc-claw?"

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw was picked up, he wanted to fight. He woke up and was brought into the den. He was placed down, but he just laid there, frozen. He heard something familiar, and was shocked awake, jumping up, fur fluffed up. "Pinyondapple!" he shouted, Are you dead too?.. he almost questioned. He rushed up and put his head on her shoulder. "I thought you were gone forever... I-" he stopped, realizing how tired he still was.

Pinyondapple flinched as his head touched her shoulder, though she sank into his warmth and soon fell to her knees, again feeling tight sobs shake her small body. "I-I-I t-t-t-thought you w-w-would n-never come, H-H-Hazelc-claw!" she wailed, moving to hide her face in his fur. She was trembling. "I-I-I-I w-was... s-s-scared...." She sniffed, and sobbed again. At least glad her was here now. At least glad she wasn't abandoned.

Hazelclaw He frowned a bit, but in a concerned way. His eyes were full of worry as he heard her, "We'll leave... we'll go back to the clan.." he said sitting down. The large tabby folded his ears, he never felt like this before.. overly protective? He sighed, "We're not safe in here.. do you know any placed to hide for now? When do the twoleg's leave?"

Pinyondapple was shaking her head, not sure how to reply--not even sure she could reply like this. Currently, the two were seated comfortably on the ground in the kitchen. The smooth floor was cold from letting the chilly, yet nice, air from outside in--though the glass doors were shut. A few feet away was the doorway to the living room with no door, where the two Twoleg mates and their two kits were, though Pinyondapple could hear them all mumbling and the sounds of things rustling. She gave her head another violent shake, and then mewled as the female Twoleg adult stepped into sight, something red and white being held in her paws. S-she'll hurt H-Hazelclaw! the warrior wailed, shrinking back away from the Twoleg who used to be someone she trusted. "T-the room!" she whimpered, and then dashed as fast as she could to the far hallway, twisting into the same room that held the open window she would peer out of and hoping Hazelclaw was on her tail.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw was panicking, seeing on how scared Pinyondapple was. The tabby jumped to his feet, seeing one of the twolegs appear, he heard Pinyon, and quickly followed, running close behind. Once he entered the room, he noticed the window. We must get out!

But Pinyondapple, with a last shred of consciousness, darted in front of Hazelclaw before he could jump up to the window. "It won't o-open like t-that!" she told him, fearfully glancing at the doorway for the Twolegs. She had already been smacked for trying to claw out the window. But it was barely raised up enough to fit under, and there was this tight... black... weird stuff on the other side, like a cage. "T-they'll hit y-you!"

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw stopped, a stern look on his face. "They hit you?.." he said, then growled, he tried ramming against the window. "Who cares if they hit me. We need to get out."

Pinyon was trembling as if the world was shaking violently under her paws. Her stormy blue eyes flinched each time Hazelclaw tried to escape. The glass itself would not break from his strength, but the weird stuff on the otherside... could that? Did he think of that? She couldn't find the words to help him. She wanted to, but her throat had closed up. Dry and hollow. She hated being afraid, but she was just afraid of everything.
Besides her best friend. She forced herself to be convinced he would never be scary. He couldn't be--Hazelclaw was the only stable thing she had latched onto, besides her mother.... He just couldn't become scary. Not to her.
"P-p-ple... e-ease...." the marbled she-cat rasped, lowering her head down to her paws. Please get us out of here, Hazelclaw... I can't... this is.... She slowly collapsed onto the ground, her legs turning into jelly from her fear. "Get... u-us...." She sniffled. O-o-ou... out."

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw rammed into it a few more times, then realized he wasn't acting right. He took a deep breath then decided to look around the window, Weird.. invisible barrier... black side... the tabby tried scratching at the sides, hoping the substance would peel off. He kicked a few more times after, almost feeling it get loose, but it could have been his imagination.

"T-the net... t-t-t-thing...." she offered softly, hoping he understood. That would be the only thing possible to break. And it was still a possibility.
There were the soft thuds of pawsteps from the hallway, and Pinyo flinched back. The Twoleg was coming--it would enter the room at any minute! "H-Haz-Haze-H--" she couldn't find her voice, but hoped her heard the footsteps as well.

Hazelclaw Net?... he thought and looked over to the side, This? The tabby then scratched at it, hearing almost plucking noises as the strands slowly broke one at a time. After a while, he made a hole, nearly larger and larger. "Pinyondapple? Claw at the sides of this hole, we can leave!"

Pinyo's eyes widened, having them being closed a moment before. He had... he found a way out? Struggling to stand on shaking paws, the she-cat crawled closer and did as he ordered. Her claws grazed the black net-thing, hearing the plucking sounds again--having been convinced earlier it was some other terror when her eyes had closed--before going even faster. The hole was getting bigger.
The door to the room was pushed open slowly, as if the Twoleg was wary of startling the two of them, but it hadn't spotted their work. Not just yet.

Hazelclaw Hazelclaw saw the hole was almost big enough with Pinyon's help. He then heard a terrible creaking noise, and whipped his head around, seeing the door open. He froze, trying to be big enough to hide the hole.
He then clenched his teeth, and turned around rapidly and without warning, attempted to push Pinyondapple through the small hole, hoping the smaller feline would fit through. His head was staring at the twoleg for most of the time.
