(I am SO sorry for making some of you wait /months/ for a ceremony. I promise that from now on it should be a normal schedule again. Tagging Bluepaw , Arêteblood , @rockyroad , Minnowfin , @leelee , @forests , Mothflight , Foxstrike , Hornetstripe To the warriors tagged: I know none of you volunteered for apprentices, but all of the warriors that did haven't been on in months and honestly TC is so dead that I'm not sure any other warriors are active TO mentor these furballs) By naming this apprentice, we show that Treeclan will survive and remain strong. Bluekit, from now on you will be known as Bluepaw.... Mothflight, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Bluepaw's mentor. Mothflight could not believe it. She was trusted with two new apprentices. The golden tabby trotted over to the two young cats to touch noses with them. "Aretepaw we will start training at dawn. Bluepaw we will start your training a bit later ok." Mothflight meowed
The golden tabby then began to cheer the other's names. "Bluepaw! Aretepaw! Quailpaw! Flowerpaw! Sorrelpaw! Forestpaw!"

Forestkit padded forward, listening to the other kits receive their ceremonies. Finally it was his turn. His eyes widened in surprise when Spiderstar announced his mentor. 'Mother?' This would be interesting. 'I hope she doesn't go easy on me because I'm her kit.' He thought, scanning the crowd for Hornetstripe.
Once he touched noses with her, Forestpaw raised his head and chanted the other names along with his clanmates.

Hornetstripe's ear pricked up when she heard her name being called by the Leader, and a minor wave of confusion came over her before she realised that she had been instructed to mentor one of the new Apprentices. She'd been watching the ceremony -or more so practically spacing out the entire time- and the sudden instructions left her quite bewildered for a moment. Scanning her eyes over the gathered cats receiving their names, her eyes landed on the small she-cat beside Spiderstar, and she silently repeated her name a few times in her head to make sure she didn't stumble on her introduction. This was her first Apprentice in a wile after all, she didn't want to mess it up. Stopping in front of the Apprentice, she gave her a small smile and said as clearly as her shaky voice would allow, "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Sorrelpaw. I guess I'll be taking over your training, hope that isn't a bother." She craned her neck down as in invitation to touch it with her own. "In the meantime, go get some sleep and eat well, we'll be starting training tomorrow at dawn." With a quick dip of her head, she turned to return back to the crowd, when her name was once again called.
Angling her ears towards the Leader, she peered back with eyes slightly narrowed in confusion, fearing for a moment that she had perhaps done something wrong. However, that presumption seemed to be very far from the truth, and she almost immediately realised that she was being instructed to take another Apprentice. That said Apprentice she recognised almost instantly, and she felt a small wave of relief upon recognising the familiar cat. Well, looks like we can save the awkward introductions. Approaching with a slightly more upbeat pace, Hornetstripe lowered her head to touch noses with her son, a warm smile on her face. "Well, this is a pleasant surprise. Hello, Forestpaw, it's a pleasure to take on your Mentoring duties. Now, make sure you get some rest and eat before tomorrow, we've got a lot to get through. I hope you don't mind the shared training, and don't worry, I won't be going easy on you." She gave him a quick lick on the head, before padding away to re-join the crowd, yowling the names of the newly named cats.

"Bluekit, Quailpaw, Flowerpaw, Sorrelkit, Forestpaw!" cheered Arêtepaw. She was so excited to finally be an apprentice! She turned towards her new mentor, Mothflight, and nodded. "Good. I'm ready." she said with a happy smile.

He had been content to observe carefully, until he heard his own name. He hadn't expected another apprentice, let alone two, but he couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised by the idea. After his former apprentices had drifted off on their own, he had found himself with less to do, and a new task was welcome.
He had a few ideas in mind of how to train his new apprentices. He was distracted from those making those plans for a moment, though, as Hornetstripe was called for her own new apprentices as well- one of which was one of their kits. He didn't congratulate her personally, though. Foxstrike could tell even from this distance she was already greeting her new charges, and he should start doing the same. He couldn't pick Flowerpaw or Quailpaw out from the crowd- not when he didn't know their pawsteps or scent yet, so he called them out. "Flowerpaw? Quailpaw? Come over here." First, he extended his nose towards them, so that if they wished to proceed with customs, they could touch it with their own. Then, he spoke.
"I would like to warn you now, your training won't be quite the same as that of the other apprentices," he began. "But it will be effective, and help you develop skills that others won't be as accustomed to using. Some of the training might take place at night. Are both of you comfortable with that?" He didn't want to push too hard if they weren't. "We'll start early tomorrow. I'll expect you both up just after dawn." |
