[Nightfall]

Nightpaw tilted her head.

"Considering the clan isn't dropping like flies then... I do believe it is not very common." She fixed Forestpaw with a curious stare. "As long as I have been here... I do not believe any cats have died."

"That's what they want you to think." He crept closer to Nightpaw. "You ever hear of cats disappearing? Yeah? Well, as you know, they almost never return. Someone in the clan kills them and hides the evidence." Forestpaw coughed. "And you know how they kill them? They poison their food, which makes them die in their sleep. Then the killer grabs the body in the night and hides it."

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw tilted her head again.

"Some of the cats who disappear are kits. I do not believe the queens would kill their own kits, nor do I believe it's possible to poison a mother's milk without killing the mother." She did not visibly react to Forestpaw's closer proximity to herself.

"I never said that queens kill their kits. You know how annoying warriors find kits to be?" He copied her head-tilt. "Kits are smaller, therefor much easier to snag from their nest in the night and kill them in the territory. The whole "dying in your sleep" thing applies more to apprentices and up."

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw decided that Forestpaw's reasonings would continue to be rather strange...

It was against the warrior code that the clan cats lived by to go and off someone just because you felt like it. No, she was fairly sure that Forestpaw was aiming to... Aggravate her. Her tail sweep back and forth behind her. Her head tilted.

"Regardless... You are fulfilling the purpose I chose to speak to you for."

He took a seat diagonal from her. "And what purpose is that?" 'She's just making this up on the fly... She only talked to me because I was awake.' He thought, looking disinterested in whatever she had to say. 'I mean, that's the only reason I answered her. There was no one else to talk to.' Forestpaw stared at her as he waited for a reply.

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw would've thought it was obvious.

"Satisfying my desire to not be sitting around doing nothing." She replied simply. She wasn't going to hide anything. What was there to hide?

"Lame." He said dryly, sighing when they entered into a silence. "Tell me about yourself, Nightpaw. So far I know that you're a dark-pelted cat that likes facts, so give me something more than that."

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw pondered this for a moment.

Was it wise to give this tom personal information? Then again, she didn't care about it all too much. "I wasn't born in Treeclan." She revealed casually. "I was simply adopted into this clan."

Forestpaw hummed, thinking about this. "So what were you?" He continued to give her an unblinking stare. "Does that mean you chose your clan name?" 'Unless she was just named "night" before and kept it.'

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw didn't react to the staring.

"I was a loner before. And no... I did not choose my clan name. I wasn't yet apprenticed age, so I was brought in as a kit. Thus, I was named by one of the queens." She explained.

'A kit-loner. That must've been a sight to see.' He nodded at her answer, eyes half-closed. "Uh-huh. Nightpaw sounds like a name that a queen would give."

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw nodded.

"Yes... My name was different before. It was Eve. Not easily translated into a name that would match the rest of Treeclan. Thus, it was changed thoroughly."

"I see." He smiled. "Mind if I call you Eve? It seems more fitting." He didn't care if she said no. He'd do it anyway.

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw shrugged.

She didn't really care if she was honest. If other members of the clan saw, they'd assume it was a nickname most likely. As far as she knew, only Meadowlark knew what her name was before.
