Nightpaw cocked her head.

"Are you trying to wake up others?" She inquired, though it seemed Forestpaw had been unsuccessful in even rousing any other apprentices.

Forestpaw took a deep, slow breath. "What do you think I'm trying to do?"

Nightpaw blinked.

"I do not believe it matters as I think you have failed."

"Failed... at what? Waking up the others? That's not what I was trying to do."

Nightpaw looked around.

"Nothing appears to have changed, thus I can conclude that you were unsuccessful."

Forestpaw frowned. "That's... incorrect. A kit stirred in their sleep. The wind blew. A mouse found a hiding spot. Many things have just happened in the last minute, so you either need to think harder or be more specific."

[Nightfall]

Nightpaw cocked her head.

"I believe the one plausible statement of your's that you could have actually had an effect on is a kit stirring. Though, we are some distance from the nursery so I must say I am skeptical on that statement as well."

Forestpaw blinked. She still wasn't understanding him. "Those were only examples. You don't know how many things I've just affected."

Nightpaw sensed this would be another train of thought that would simply travel in circles.

This seemed to be a pattern. She wondered if Forestpaw knew of his talent of sending cats running in circles. "You're quite clever." She bluntly stated all of a sudden.

Forestpaw was surprised at the statement, though didn't let it show. "You're not so bad yourself."

Nightpaw generally chose to ignore most rules of positive interaction.

This time was no exception. She cocked her head. "Do you often hold conversation like this with others?"
