Crystalbird Deputy? Deputy? Who's the new deputy? Liongrowl was busy counting herbs in his storage supply, plenty was the number he came up with in the end, when he realized they had a new deputy. It shouldn't have been a shock because he saw her earlier. His mind was slowly going it seemed, but of course there was much to be done beforehand. He tripped over his own feet as he left the medicine den and stumbled into the clearing. Hoping no kits were nearby to make fun of him he acted like it had never even happened. He glanced around, wondering if he'd see who he was looking for and to his surprise she was there. That's not embarrassing. "Tell me you did not see that," he said, with an embarrassed look on his face. Way to go.

Crystalbird had simply been walking around, minding her own business... When she'd spotted a medicine cat trip over his own feet. Often having a maturity that didn't quite match her age, she started snickering at her clanmate's misfortune.
The medicine cat seemed to hope that Crystalbird hadn't seen, but alas... It was not to be. She had seen, and she was now laughing at him. Maybe it was rude, but in her opinion... Manners were for boring people. Basically, she felt no remorse for laughing at him.

Liongrowl was surprised at her manner but didn't frown or show any sign of anger towards her reaction. "Ah Miss Deputy has a sense of humor eh? Enjoying the trip I see." He said, and shook his shoulders for emphasis. "Well it's good to finally meet the new deputy, I'm Liongrowl. It seems as if it's just me in the den right now I'm afraid. Let's just say she's taking a nap or out on a walk." He didn't mean for it to sound creepy and gave a mental shake of his head at his own lack of ability to socialize. Well, let's just hope for the best shall we?

Crystalbird could see Liongrowl's surprise at her laid-back and immature attitude. Jeez, was everyone going to react like this? Would she really have to put up a front of being... Proper or something to get respect or something? She hoped not. She hated pretending.
Luckily for Liongrowl, the creepy undertones went over her head. "Nah, don't call me Miss. Sounds too formal. Name's Crystalbird, though you could call me Crys if you want." She understood the importance of the names, plus Crys sounded more like the name of an outclanner... But she thought her name was kind of... A mouthful and nicer than she felt most of the time. She didn't expect anyone to actually call her Crys... But she figured she'd offer. A lot.

Crys? He thought the name was unique, at least it brought out more of an attention to her personality but not in a bad way. It was good to see that someone wasn't so serious in higher standings. "Might actually take you up on that... Crys." The name felt oddly short but that was to be expected for him due to him being used to saying multiple syllables in the clan cats' names.
"Looks like you've seemed to settle into life at a new rank already am I right? Or not just yet?" He asked. Liongrowl wasn't so sure what her answer would be from the laughter to the rank.

Crystalbird suddenly grinned. She didn't think Liongrowl would actually go along with it! It felt... Kind of nice actually. "Awesome." She purred. Mm... This medicine cat was tons more fun to hang out with than grumpy old Arrowstar. Maybe she shouldn't be insulting him, even in her own head... But she got a feeling this was going to be a long, long leader-deputy relationship. She didn't think they mixed all too well.
She shrugged. "Eh. I suppose. I'm pretty comfortable with the duties I've been asked to perform so far. Though... There are some other aspects that haven't quite been tested yet. No clue if the rest of the clan accepts me as their deputy."

She seemed to be happy at Liongrowl's use of her name and that made him feel better and forget about the embarrassing trip he did not too long ago. "What other aspects would those include? And don't take it too hard on yourself. I've been around here for many a moon and I'm not too sure how many actually know I exist." He gave an awkward laugh and continued, "You'll do fine." Liongrowl reassured the other cat because he knew what it was like to be at a new position.

Crystalbird rolled her eyes. "According to Arrowstar..." She began, with that tone of voice that tended to sound sarcastic even if she wasn't. "There's a proper behavior for deputies I should be mimicking, that I don't." She shook her head. She huffed. "Try telling that to Arrowstar. He's the one who appointed me, but something tells me he had no idea what he was getting himself into."

Liongrowl shook his head. "One seems to be very serious, the other not so much... no offense of course. But at that point it seems that you've balanced each other out." He didn't seem to understand what Arrowstar really needed in all seriousness. Why did Crys have to be serious? Arrowstar seemed to be serious enough for the both of them. Liongrowl admitted that he understood at times they'd need to be serious but not all the time. It's not like she embarrassed him in front of the other clans? Did she? He wondered and shook out his pelt. He didn't want her catching him drifting off into thought.

Crystalbird raised a fictional eyebrow. "... None taken." She tilted her head. "Huh. Balance. It's something I believe exists in all aspects of life... So... I guess that's what happened here as well." She snorted. "At least I'll be here to stop him from being stupid." She did actually notice Liongrowl spacing out. She wasn't a mind reader, so she couldn't guess what he was thinking. Hm.

Liongrowl's attention snapped back once Crys started speaking again. "Very philosophical," he whispered and then thought, And to stop him from being stupid? That's good. At least that means I won't have to do it. "I have yet to meet the leader myself. All I know about him is that he's serious. I wonder what that's all about. If there's something behind it all or if he just was born in foul lighting." He shrugged. The tom didn't speak to CloudClan very often and felt as if he should do so sooner rather than later. Maybe they know what's up?

Crystalbird shrugged. "Eh. Just some thoughts of mine. Nothing special." She said, waving it off. She hummed in response. "Well, his reputation isn't that far off. I've met the guy. Doesn't seem to know how to take a joke." She sniffed. Admittedly, she threw acorns at him. But it wasn't like there was actual damage! Aside from damaged dignity, probably. "Well, I don't think there's an excuse. Everyone has choices they make and they have to live with them." Tch. Sure, maybe there were reasons for why people were the way they were. She didn't like excuses, though.

Liongrowl shook his head. That's one way to think of it. "Someone's past may haunt them. And yes you can't change the past but it certainly can impact the future if someone doesn't know how to... redirect it in a positive direction." He flicked his tail gently, the large fluffy thing just seemed to stroke the ground. "But at the same time I do understand what you mean. I didn't hear anything about his experience with CloudClan." Liongrowl cut his thoughts off after that. He didn't want to hint into anything or anyway he would try to figure out what was going on with his leader. CloudClan was just one way, but he supposed he could go talk to the leader himself.

Crystalbird's ears flattened. "... I guess. But it's still their choice." She insisted stubbornly. "Having a rough past doesn't give you an excuse to be a total jerk." Then Liongrowl mentioned Cloudclan. She felt kind of awkward, but managed to completely mask her awkwardness. She actually didn't really believe in Cloudclan. She never did and hadn't seen a speck of evidence that suggested that Cloudclan existed. Her dreams were free of ghosts, and supposedly Arrowstar had multiple lives now. Hah! She'd believe it when she saw it.
.... Not that she wanted Arrowstar to die. She thought he was a grump, sure... But she didn't wish death on people. That wasn't her thing.

Liongrowl looked at Crys with a different opinion in a way. He sensed her hostility and felt a bit bad that her encounter with Arrowstar was so unpleasant. It shouldn't have to be so bad. "No I suppose it doesn't. Have you asked him why?" He asked, wondering what her response would be. Liongrowl didn't want her to snap at him one day and have him be the fall guy for when something goes wrong in between the other two. It didn't sound very ... pleasant.
